27. You’re Going On A Date?

Meanwhile, back in Delphine's bedroom, the stunning dark elf hadn't fallen asleep yet either.

Just like Logan, she was currently awake, and right now she lightly bit her blanket cutely as she clutched it with both hands.

She couldn't sleep because her mind had been filled with everything that had happened that evening.

And how could she sleep after realising that her opponents had become even more desperate to acquire her own shares of the company?

To think that they would even dare to employ such dangerous methods was something Delphine could have never predicted.

However, no matter how hard Joseph Sinclair was determined to get her shares, Delphine was equally persistent on ensuring the company would completely become hers.

Hence why she had decided to embark on some business overseas which had helped her in generating some funds to claim the remaining shares held by her fellow co-owners.

"Alright, now is not the right time to be falling asleep."

Delphine instantly sat up before pulling her laptop towards her for more night work.

Yes, in terms of wealth and power, Joseph Sinclair was clearly ahead of her.

However, in terms of business tactics and know-how, Delphine was truly not afraid of anyone.

And this was what made her even more confident as she worked hard to claim what rightfully belonged to her.

And so, just like that, Delphine confidently organised her acquisition plan with the hope of fully implementing it on Monday, the following week...

*The Next Morning at Approximately 7:05 am.*

Delphine moaned softly as she stretched her arms whilst sitting up on her bed.

Strangely enough, she'd been worried about falling asleep throughout the night because she was scared that her enemies would attack whilst she was asleep.

But the strangest thing happened last night at the stroke of midnight.

The window she was certain she had locked before engaging in her night work suddenly opened on its own, and a cool breeze and soothing gust of wind flowed into her room, making her feel sleepy.

Noticing this, Delphine instantly closed the window to prevent herself from going to sleep due to her fears that someone might attack her again.

But to her surprise, the moment she returned to her laptop that night, Delphine suddenly felt a strong relaxing sensation, telling her not to feel scared or worried about sleeping.

She glanced around and felt like something or someone was watching, or more precisely, keeping her safe.

The feeling was unlike anything she had ever felt before, and just like that, the stunning dark elf didn't know when she closed her laptop to fall asleep.

Even now, Delphine could still feel that sense of safety and calmness, that there was nothing and no one in the world that could hurt her as long as it remained close to her, but she truly couldn't explain why this was happening now, so she went straight to have her bath before leaving her room to have breakfast with Logan and Odette.

Meanwhile, just as she left the room, the shadow of two large pairs of beast eyes glowed at the corner of her bedroom where a small amount of darkness lingered in the room.

Unbeknownst to her, Delphine came down for breakfast still feeling strangely at ease.

In fact, for the past few months, she'd been unable to have a really good sleep, and yet here she was, humming softly as she reached for the coffee pot.

Her sleep last night was simply the best, and it was without a doubt the best she'd had in months.

Anyways, the morning rays of sunlight cut through the kitchen window in a way that made the whole kitchen look bright and beautiful.

But to her surprise, both Logan and Odette were already awake with Odette already busying herself to make something delicious for everyone to eat that morning, while Logan could be seen walking down to the kitchen after just taking a bath.

Odette and Delphine exchanged greetings, but Delphine's cheerful attitude certainly didn't go unnoticed by the handsome elf in the room as he smiled whilst asking.

"Good morning, Aunt Delphine. You look happy this morning."

"Good morning, Mon cher. I certainly do feel really happy, and I had the best sleep I've ever had in months as well."

"Well, I'm glad to see you're happy, and it's certainly nice to see you smiling as well."

"Thanks, Mon cher."

Logan smiled as he replied with a nod.

Of course, he knew the reason why his aunt felt so happy and safe was due to the effect of the beast he summoned last night, and it made him feel happy as well, for making the choice he made.

"Good morning to you too, beautiful." Logan happily hugged Odette from behind whilst she was stirring the broth in the boiling pot, and this immediately caught Odette by surprise when she realised Logan had boldly hugged her in front of his aunt nonetheless.

"Oh my, I never knew you two were this close?" Delphine asked with shocked eyes whilst sipping her coffee.

"Yeah, we are. Oh, and that reminds me. We'll be heading out on a date later today."

"What? The two of you are heading out on a date?" Delphine inquired, and Logan nodded with a grin.

Delphine stole a glance at the beautiful half-elf, but her face was too red to stare at Delphine right now, but she nodded in response as well.

This genuinely left the stunning dark elf short of words, but she was also happy for them as well because she could clearly see that Odette liked Logan and now she was certain her nephew felt the same way about the half-elf as well.

Anyways, breakfast passed by easily with the three of them talking about nothing interesting in particular until Delphine finally decided to address the elephant in the room.

"So, Odette, do you have anything you'll be wearing on your date today?"
