Chapter 78: Ch 78: You are expelled

"These numbers..."

Daniel could not help but comment as he looked down at the string he saw in front of his eyes. It was something he had never seen in his life before. But it still looked familiar to him.

"Why do they...look so familiar..."

He commented, trying to recall what this meant. But as soon as he did, his head gave a throb, causing him to clutch it and rub it.

And he was not the only one suffering from this condition. Even Alan looked unstable and irritated when he looked at the data.

This clearly meant something to them, but they were not sure what.

"What should we do about this now? I have a feeling that we were not supposed to see this..."

Daniel whispered as he looked down at the piece of paper in front of him. Just looking at it was bringing back the headache he was trying to hold back...

"Let’s not talk about this here. Pack it up and bring it back. We should focus on what we are here to find instead."

Alan reminded him, and Daniel nodded before he followed him around and started looking into the stuff. But no matter how much they tried to find more, nothing else showed up.

"These teachers are sure working hard in order to protect that criminal. It makes me feel so irritated."

Daniel complained as he looked at the cameras, when his eyes fell on what was happening outside.

He noticed Kris and decided to pay attention to him, especially when Noah joined him as well.

"Alan, look at this."

He told Alan while pointing to the security camera that was showing what Kris was doing. And they both noticed how Kris grabbed Noah before he summoned the monster and caused a huge mess.

It seemed like there was no way he would be able to get out of this situation.

"Hmm, it seems like we don’t need to do anything after all. That idiot got himself into a troublesome situation all on his own."

Alan sounded disappointed when he said that, but his eyes looked a little happy as well. But that was not what was important.

The fact that Noah was standing there as well did not sit right with Daniel.

Anyone could tell that Noah was a victim in this case, but somehow...Daniel had a feeling that the teachers would try to frame him as well.

"Hey, we need to get back right now."

Alan must have guessed the same thing because he did not argue and decided to head back.

He carefully locked the safe with the information about the experiment but took one sheet for reference later.

Right now, saving Noah came first. Everything else could be dealt with later.

Kris was taken into custody, so one would naturally assume that it would be the end of this problem, right?

Well, that did not turn out to be the case for Noah, since he was forced to go with the teachers as well.

Kris kept crying out that it was all Noah’s fault and advocating for his punishment, which led to the teachers calling him in as well.

’Not that they need that specific excuse to call me in. They already dislike me because of my low grade. They are not going to miss a chance to torment me.’

Despite knowing this, Noah still followed the protocol and waited to be called in for questioning.

He was led to sit in a small chair, and all the teachers looked at him. Kris was also sitting not too far away, and his eyes glared daggers at Noah.

"Student Noah, are you aware of why you are here?"

The teacher asked in a slow voice, almost as if it would make Noah admit his sins. But Noah had no intention of giving in that easily.

He simply shook his head to show that he had no idea.

A teacher tried to pry into his mind using their abilities, and Noah allowed him access. He had more than enough training to show the teacher exactly what he wanted them to see, so he had no problems with this invasion of privacy.

The teacher who took a look at his mind nodded to show that he was clean.

"So, would you like to tell me what happened, Student Noah?"

A teacher asked, and Kris started to get agitated.

"Don’t ask him what happened! He is obviously going to lie and pin all the blame on me. But it is his fault! He caused all this and made me go berserk. You need to lock him up-"

Another esper used their abilities on Kris, and his mouth went shut.

It must have been impossible to shut up an SS-grade esper, but since he was wearing ability suppressors, even an S-class could easily subdue him.

Noah turned his attention to the important matter at hand and let out a sigh.

"I don’t know what happened either. He just told me to help him and then threatened me if I refused. Moreover, he said that he wanted to kill Alan and make Daniel his own, and I-I was so scared of him. He even tried to forcefully have me guide him..."

Noah was a good liar and a better actor. After years of training for this, there was no way he would be caught.

The more pitiful he made himself sound, the worse Kris’s crimes would look.

Not that these teachers had any sympathy for him or what he went through. They just looked shocked that someone as well-known as Kris would go after Alan of all people.

Soon, those shocked expressions turned to regret, and they looked at Kris like he was a lost cause.

"Student Kris, we are so disappointed. It is unfortunate, but we cannot keep you here anymore."

Finally, they made the decision Noah had been pushing for all this time. But Kris did not look happy with the outcome.

"This is not fair! I did not do any of that stuff! I am being framed here!"

He tried to argue, but the results were final.
