Chapter 76: Ch 76: Final Performance

The giant monster broke through the wall of the room Kris had taken Noah to, and as a result, a room full of espers and guides noticed him holding Noah down and summoning a monster.

"Senior Kris, what is the meaning of this?"

An esper in the same class as Noah asked, and he was barely able to make out the worried features from where he was being held down.

Noah noticed the genuine panic in Kris’s expression as he looked around and realized what he had done. His hand quickly left the necklace he had used, and he tried to bury the situation.

"I am not the one who summoned this monster. This guide did. He used a summoning stone that-"

"You mean the summoning stone around your neck? Senior, can you stop lying?"

"I never liked that senior, and now it turns out there was a reason behind it."

"What should we do about the monster? At this rate, we will get attacked."

The monster had not attacked yet, but it was only a matter of time before they did get attacked. Moreover, the owner of the summoning stone was panicking hard.

Kris’s breath was laboured as he tried his best to get out of the situation. But it was so hard.

"Don’t worry, Senior. Things will only get ’better’ for you from here."

Kris looked down at Noah, who was smiling at him, and then his body began to feel drained.

He was not fully aware of what was happening, but he felt thirsty, and he needed to grab something to sate his appetite. He was losing control of himself, and he was acutely aware of what this was.

He was guiding-hungry, and his eyes instinctively looked for his next target to fill his belly.

Noah let go of Kris’s hand when he tugged, and the unstable esper rushed toward a guide, only to be blocked by someone else.

"Hey, have you lost your mind?"

The esper who blocked Kris asked, but Kris was too far gone to know what he was doing. This was his second time falling into shock due to the lack of guiding, and this time, he did not know what he was doing.

The monster rushed toward the students but was easily taken down by the espers. However, Kris had a harder time.

He was not so far gone that he wouldn’t come back, and after being subdued, the espers threw pills down his throat.

It helped Kris a little, but his throbbing head wouldn’t leave him alone.

He tried to look around the room in order to focus, but his eyes kept hazing over until he felt Noah sitting beside him.

"Senior Kris, are you alright-"

Noah asked as he reached for Kris’s hand, and the sensation of agony came back. It acutely made Kris aware that the reason behind him losing control was the guide sitting beside him.

"Y-You...! Did you reverse-guide me? B-But how? A B-grade like you..."

Kris stopped speaking and suddenly looked up, only to see Noah smiling at him in a creepy way. It made his insides feel cold, and he could not help but question Noah’s decisions.

"Why...would you do this?"

Kris asked in a low voice as others questioned what they should do with him. But no one approached him since he seemed unstable.

Noah’s smile widened, almost as if he was waiting for this question, before he spoke up in a clear but low voice.

"Why? For love, of course."

"Love? Don’t bullshit-"

"It is the same love that led you to stalk Daniel. I just wanted you to experience the same thing."

Noah told him simply without his smile faltering even a little. It made Kris even angrier.

"You-! Do you really think you will get away with this? I am going to tell the whole academy that-"

"That what? A B-grade guide reverse-guided you in order to make you lose control? Do you think anyone would believe you? If so, then go ahead and take your chances."

Noah patted Kris’s face gently before he stood up. At the same time, teachers started to arrive, and they looked shocked at what had happened.

A few espers gave their testimony about what happened, and the teachers looked shaky but soon sighed.

After getting some testimonies about what happened, they approached Kris, who looked shaken, but he quickly recovered.

"Teacher, this is all Noah’s fault! I did not do anything. He reverse-guided me and-"

"Student Kris, we clearly told you that you had no more chances to mess up. But you are still pulling tricks like these? I am afraid that we can no longer tolerate this behaviour from you."

The teacher did not allow Kris to finish his sentence before she dropped this bomb on top of him.

He looked shaken, and his eyes looked up with a terrified expression.

"Y-You cannot do this to me! I am-"

"It does not matter who or even what you are at this point. You were given a last warning, and we, as the teachers of this academy, need to uphold our words. So from this moment onwards, you are no longer a student at the academy. Please pack your bags and leave."

The decision was final, and there was no taking it back.

All the students who were present had heard this, and they were pointing at him and laughing.

Kris’s eyes turned to look at Noah, who was standing beside him, and he noticed how happy Noah looked with all this.

’Senior Kris, I will miss you. Please make sure to take care of yourself.’

Noah told him while placing a hand on his shoulder, and that was the final straw that broke Kris. He could no longer take being made fun of like this.

"I am not going to forgive you for what you have done. You are going to pay. I will make sure you pay for this."

Kris promised, and he lunged toward Noah with his esper powers out of control. He intended to take revenge for what happened by sucking Noah dry.

After all, it was this B-grade guide’s fault that this had happened to him. Surely, he deserved some compensation?
