Chapter 71: Ch 71: Taste of one’s own medicine

Alan and Daniel both looked at Kris when he made these bold claims, and he looked elated at the fact that there was someone willing to take his side. He even handed the letter that he had gotten over as evidence.

But then he noticed who it was, and his happiness drained out of his face.

Instead, he started to look awkward and even let out a laugh.

"I...maybe I said too much. Well, I don’t think everyone breaking into someone’s room has bad intentions, but it depends on the context. Like right now, it is bad because the person intends to harm me. But if they truly like me, then..."

Kris tried to salvage the situation, recalling that he was in the same boat and that the teachers had warned him about his identity potentially being exposed.

Right now, Daniel was here, and so was Alan, who was standing by his side. There were rumors that these two were together and cared about each other.

Kris did not believe these rumors since he did not see any affection in Daniel’s eyes toward Alan. But he could not read Alan, so there was a chance the esper liked Daniel.

’No, it’s not even a chance but a certainty at this point. Alan is too high-graded to not fall for Daniel’s guiding. So he must have looked into things. Is this why he is threatening me like this...Darn it!’

"Senior Kris, this letter says that the person who broke into your room really likes you and wants to help you. Didn’t you just say that it was fine under these circumstances? Are you taking your words back?"

Alan asked, and Kris cursed him inside his mind.

’Why this little shit...no, I cannot curse right now. Otherwise, Daniel would have a worse impression of me. He is already looking at me like I am scum he cannot handle...’

The atmosphere had turned weird, and their teacher turned to look at Kris with an irritated and impatient face.

"Student Kris, what do you want to do—"

Kris quickly snatched the paper out of his teacher’s hand and proceeded to destroy it before it could be used against him.

"I did not read the letter correctly. But now that Alan has pointed it out, it seems like it is no longer a serious matter. I will take care of it myself."

Kris needed to take care of it himself. He could no longer count on external help. Otherwise, he would send the wrong message to Daniel and ruin his chances with the other guide.

He looked at Daniel with a sincere expression and tried to convey his feelings to the guide.

"Please don’t worry about this letter. I might have gotten a confession, but my affection has not changed. I will decline this person respectfully and then continue to profess my love to the one I like—"

"Hmm, that looks fine, Senior. But you should also make sure your actions do not inconvenience other people. Sometimes, it is easy to involve people you have no right involving."

Alan warned, and Kris cursed at him with his eyes.

’You bastard! You are trying to flaunt your relationship with Daniel in front of my eyes? How dare you? No, I need to remain calm. Let’s deal with this situation first, and then I can come back and win Daniel over.’

Not being able to take it anymore, Kris turned around and decided to leave. He was well aware of the eyes looking at him this whole time, but he did not care.

He was someone who had always gotten what he wanted in life, and this time would be no different. He would make sure of it.

"That kid is in so much trouble. If not for that money..."

The teacher muttered as she looked at both Alan and Daniel standing in front of her.

A single look at Alan told her that he knew exactly who that senior was and what he had done. Moreover, because of his actions, it was clear that he was pissed off.

’He might not have liked the fact that the senior tried to make a pass at his chosen partner. I better tell the other teachers that we might need to take a side soon.’

That was her own delusion, when in reality, Alan had warned Kris about not messing with Noah anymore, even if he wanted to pursue Daniel.

She was nervous, and she kept looking at Daniel to see what he would do next since the guide looked ready to explode.

Luckily for her, Alan was there, and he placed a hand on Daniel’s shoulder to calm him down.

"We should head back now. We have been gone for a while, and the others will start to worry about us."

The teacher let out a sigh of relief as she watched them leave. Finally, she could relax and do her work.

But while she was busy being relieved, the same could not be said for Daniel.

He looked pissed, and as soon as they were out of the common room, he grabbed Alan’s collar and pulled him to his level with an annoyed look on his face.

"What do you think you are doing? Are you going to let the situation go like that?"

Daniel demanded to know, but Alan quickly put his hand on Daniel’s enraged fist and pulled himself out of the grip while replying.

"Hmm, when did I ever say that I am going to let them go? I just decided to give them one last chance to handle the situation on their side. But since they refused, we have no choice but to snoop around ourselves, right?"

Alan asked, and Daniel suddenly felt creeped out by Alan’s words.

He had a feeling he was not going to like Alan’s methods, but he still could not help but ask.

"What is your plan?"

Alan’s smile widened as he conveyed his plan.

"Well, it’s simple. We are going to break into the archives and ’accidentally’ release the footage of what that esper did. I have a feeling it will embarrass him so much that he would rather leave by himself. And if not...then I can always make his life miserable."
