[BL]The Matchmaker Guide Doesn't Want Love
Chapter 69: Ch 69: Step-by-Step Revenge
"Did you hear? They said that an esper tried to mess with Alan’s guide and that his roommate got caught in the crossfire."
"I heard the rumor as well. By that roommate, you mean that B-class guide? I don’t feel surprised by it. And what did the teachers do?"
"Huh? Why would the teachers do anything about this situation? Daniel was not the one who got hurt, and frankly, who cares about that B-class guide? The teachers clearly turned a blind eye because they want to protect that esper."
"Then, doesn’t that mean we will also not get punished if we mess around with that B-class esper? Ugh, finally! I was starting to feel restless with not having anywhere to release this pent-up energy. But finally, I have an outlet..."
Daniel glared at the espers speaking and snickering behind him without lowering their voices. They seemed to have no consideration for whether they would be heard by someone or not.
’These fuckers-! I am going to-’
"Beating them up won’t do anything. It would just encourage them to take their anger out on Noah. Instead, we need to uproot this problem forever if we want Noah to have an easier time in the future."
Alan pointed out, but Daniel did not feel happy about it.
He was about to point out that it was going to take some time when he noticed Alan’s eyes. They were dark without a hint of light in them.
Suddenly, he started to feel slightly bad for the espers that had gotten on his bad side...but just slightly. He had no emotions to spare for these fools who were busy making fun of Noah and planning on using him.
"Tsk, that reminds me...isn’t Noah taking a long time to come back? He went to the bathroom almost 20 minutes ago. Lunch break is about to be over soon. I should go and get him-"
"Don’t. If you overwhelm Noah, then he will feel like we are smothering him. Give him some time."
Just as Alan said this, Noah came back and sat back down. But the uneasiness Daniel felt did not go away. If anything, he felt even more annoyed as he watched the espers around him pointing at Noah and speaking even more vulgar stuff.
Alan’s mood was not any better than his, and he finally reached a breaking point as well.
"Hmm, maybe it won’t be a bad idea to leave a warning for these people. But I will need to lock Noah up in a safe place before I do that. As for you...can I count on you to distract the teachers for that time?"
Daniel was about to tell Alan to fuck off when he paused.
He did not like Alan, but he had to admit that Alan was also the only one who could pull off scaring the other espers away from Noah.
And as much as Daniel hated Alan and wanted him away from Noah, this was a sacrifice he would have to make this time.
"Fine. I will help you out."
And that was how they ended up with Noah in Alan’s room while they both made excuses to go out and do what they had planned.
Only, they did not expect Noah to be able to break the locks and get out on his own. Nor did they expect him to have a plan of his own.
Unfortunately, both sides were doing their own thing with the same goal in mind.
...
"Wow! Those two sure are bold. They decided to lock me up and expected me to stay put? Did they think they would succeed?"
Breaking the lock open was easy for Noah, and he even broke it in a way so that it could be fixed again easily.
He had to wonder why the esper-guide pair had locked him up like this, but honestly, he did not care at this point. He was just thankful that luck was on his side this time.
Noah quickly scanned around for other people using his sharp senses, but he was not able to pick anything up.
’Huh? How weird. Is it because of the thick walls here? Well, I better thank my stars and do what I need to.’
The lack of people made sneaking around easier for Noah, and he had already tracked down Kris’s room.
Once he was there, it was easy enough to break into.
The nice thing about esper dorms was that it was a one-person room. So Noah wouldn’t be inconveniencing anyone by thrashing this place except the owner.
"Let’s see...I am going to have so much fun returning the favor."
He wore industry-standard gloves so that his fingerprints or other genetic information wouldn’t get out. He also sprayed anti-ability gas so that no ability would be able to pick up his traces.
Once he was done with the preparations, it was time to start thrashing the room. It felt therapeutic to destroy the room, and Noah felt a little sad once he was done.
"Is it over already? Awww, this was just getting fun. But well, what can I do? Going overboard is not my style."
He sighed and decided to leave the printed letter right in the middle of the mess. He had printed it right before he had been dragged inside the esper dorm by Alan. Of course, he had worded it as an assignment (that they had tons of).
Once all the preparations were made, it was only a matter of waiting. Noah went back to Alan’s room and locked the door.
A few espers tried to come and knock at the door, only to find it locked and leave. Noah completely relaxed after an hour and even fell asleep after two.
By the third hour, both Alan and Daniel returned looking refreshed, and he decided not to ask them where they were.
Instead, he got distracted by a loud but familiar scream that he had been waiting for.
’Finally...!’
Kris had finally reached his room and opened it. And his panic could be felt by everyone, making Noah smile.
