Chapter 68: Ch 68: Laying the bait

Noah was dragged to an empty room by the esper, but the look in that esper’s eyes was wild. His desire to hurt Noah for his own pleasure was clearly shown, but it was something Noah wanted to take advantage of.

The reason this esper had been able to get away the first two times was because there had been no witnesses around to report his crimes.

The teachers were biased (and corrupt) and had chosen to ignore Noah’s words when he tried to tell them that this esper was the culprit behind what happened, so he was left with no other way than to expose this fucker himself.

Finally, the esper stopped and threw Noah against the door before caging him between his arms.

"You better keep your mouth shut about all of this. Other than that, help me win Daniel over. What does he like?"

The esper asked while holding Noah’s shoulder down, and Noah decided that it was time to start acting.

If this esper thought he was the only one who could make someone uncomfortable, then Noah was about to show him a new reality.

’I am going to show you exactly how it feels to be stalked by someone who likes you. I am sure it will be a fun experience for you.’

But first, Noah needed to pretend that he had fallen in love with this esper...which should not be difficult. All he had to do was blink dazedly and look at the arms around him with a forced blush on his face.

"Uhmm, I...I feel a little uncomfortable..."

Noah kept his voice low and startled, but also interested. Any esper would pick up on his mannerisms. And while most would be thrilled to have a guide interested in them, he saw the esper in front of him quickly pulling his hand back as if he had been burned.

The first part of his plan was successful. He could see suspicion entering the esper’s eyes, and then he quickly tried to get the situation under control.

"What do you think you are doing? No, never mind. Just don’t come too near me and keep your distance. All I need you to do is help me with Daniel. So don’t get any stupid ideas in your mind."

The esper had caught on to the bait Noah had laid out for him. Things could not have gone any better.

Noah wanted to laugh out loud, but instead, he channeled his energy and emotions into his acting.

"I-I know! I promise I won’t have any silly thoughts...I will sincerely help you with Daniel as well...uhmmm..."

It was the esper’s cue to tell Noah his name.

"Kris. I am going to save my number in your phone. Come running to me whenever I call. Otherwise, I will make your life difficult. Do you understand?"

The esper asked, and Noah nodded.

"I-I don’t think I will mind if you do that."

Noah added, and he noticed how the esper flinched at his words and made a quick turn to head back to his room.

With this, not only had Noah successfully made contact with the esper stalking Daniel, but he had also successfully made him uncomfortable.

But this was just the start.

People like Kris needed to be given a dose of their own medicine. Only then would they learn that what they were doing was wrong. And Noah had no mercy for him.

"Where were you until now? You went away at the start of the lunch break and only came back now? Just what were you doing until now?"

Ethan questioned Noah as soon as he sat back down in his seat. His suspicious eyes kept looking at the door and then at his partner.

But there was no way Noah could tell him that he was making preparations to stalk the esper that had stalked Daniel before in order to teach him a lesson. It would just make Ethan think that he had lost his mind.

So he shook his head and came up with an excuse.

"Well, I needed to relieve myself a little longer this time. Are you really going to ask me what I was doing in there?"

Daniel asked back, and as expected, Ethan immediately backed down with a flushed face.

"You don’t have to give me a detailed explanation. But are you sure you will be alright? You did not get to eat lunch today, and dinner is a long way off."

Ethan looked worried, which made Noah feel bad about worrying him.

But honestly, wasn’t he worried about nothing? Missing a meal was not going to kill Noah. And if he was truly famished, then he could just buy some food from the cafeteria.

Ethan must have realized that as well because his face looked flushed, and he quickly looked away without saying anything.

Noah just shook his head and started focusing on the class as well. But rather than focusing on the class, he was more focused on what he could do in order to stalk Kris and give him a dose of his own medicine.

And the best way to do that would be to start with this room.

The academy had one rule in the esper dorm—to not mess with each other’s rooms no matter what.

Espers could fight and break bones, but their rooms were off-limits to other espers because they were considered ’protected spaces’. As a result, they never messed with each other’s rooms.

’Not that it stopped Kris from trashing Daniel and my room. I think a little revenge is warranted.’

With this decided, it was time for Noah to start his revenge. But first, he needed to make sure he had some time alone in order to sneak around in the esper dorm. But getting away from Alan and Daniel was not going to be easy.

They grabbed him as soon as the class ended, and somehow, they ended up in Alan’s room before Daniel realized it.

’Well, that resolved one part of the problem for me. But how do I escape this room without causing an alarm? I don’t think Alan and Daniel would appreciate my plan.’

But little did they know that both Alan and Daniel had plans of their own, and he would soon get his chance at revenge.
