Chapter 66: Ch 66: The Circumstances

In the end, they all ended up in Alan’s room once more, but the mood was tense this time.

Noah had a feeling that both Alan and Daniel were mad at him but he could not think of a single reason why that would be the case here?

"Uhmmm, should we decide on our sleeping arrangements? Would you mind if I take the couch-"

Alan grabbed him and pulled him back to the bed. Noah tried to run away but Daniel blocked his way from the other side.

"Just go to sleep. We will figure out this mess tomorrow."

Daniel told Noah which surprised him. But the fact that Alan and Dainel were in the same bed without fighting (even if he was in the middle) was alraedy a great progress in his mind.

It helped him fall asleep and his body relaxed as soon as he closed his eyes.

He should not have been so tired, considering the fact that he had slept a few hours last night at least. But his body had other plans and it shut down.

’I really...need to...take care of...that stalker...tomorrow...’

Those were Noah’s last thoughts before he fell asleep. But unlike him, the other two were awake and they were scheming what to do about this situation.

"I don’t understand why Noah won’t rely on me and tell me these things? Can that small space he was given even be called a room? What were the teachers thinking..."

Of course the teachers were not thinking. They did not care about the fate of a B-class guide...

Rather, they must have seen it as an opportunity to seclude Noah from Daniel and force him in conditions that would make anyone want to quit the academy.

But what annoyed Daniel even more was the fact that instead of complaining, Noah had chosen not to say anything. Why won’t he trust Daniel? Was it because despite his high grade, he was a powerless guide?

"Those teachers are starting to cross their limit. I am sure I made it clear that Noah is under my protection, but they are still pulling this crap. It seems like I will need to hurry up with my lesson."

Alan spoke in a calm and soft voice which usually got on Daniel’s nerves. But for the first time, he found himself agreeing with the esper.

’He’s right! This is not Noah’s fault. I have seen how the teachers treat him myself, so I can understand why he won’t want to make things difficult for himself. As for him not trusting me...’

Daniel had to keep reminding himself that it was because they had not known each other for long.

He did not know why, but it felt like he had known Noah all this life and that made him build up expectations that he should not be having...

’I will have to give Noah a reason to trust me. But before that, I need to start gathering power. I need to be powerful enough to the point where no one in this academy will question me or dare to cross me.’

Daniel made his decision and nodded to himself.

Alan, who finished thinking, let out a smirk and looked at Daniel with a calm look.

"Now that we are partners, let’s help each other catch some mice. We cannot let these teachers get away with what they did, right?"

Alan’s eyes told Daniel that he had a plan. And it was one that would cause the teachers a lot of pain and suffering.

It was starting to make Daniel feel excited.

"Alright, I am listening to what you have to say."

That night, the teacher’s fate was sealed and they did not know it. Even their connections and high rank won’t save them from what was about to happen.

"Oh, also, I am going to go all out in order to seduce Noah now. You are welcomed to try and compete as well, but I doubt you would be able to do much."

And just like that, whatever goodwill Daniel felt for him went down the drain.

’I am not letting this bastard win Noah’s affection. I don’t care that we have not known each-other for long. But I am not letting Noah go.’

Noah felt refreshed when he woke up the next morning. He felt calm, warm and comfortable...all until he tried to get up. Then it became a little difficult for him to be able to move.

And it was all because of the arms that were surrounding him.

’Darn it! Not this again...’

Luckily, their hold was not that strong this time and Noah was able to get away and head toward the washroom to freshen up.

He enviously looked at Alan’s decently-sized bathroom but quickly made use of it before coming out.

Both Daniel and Alan were just waking up and their sleep-filled faces reminded Noah of their past in the lab. His eyes instantly softened and he reached out to ruffle their hair in a more manageable way.

"Are you awake? Then go and wash up-"

Noah tried to step back but Alan was faster and ended up warping his arms around Noah’s middle and pulling him closer and back to the bed.

"I don’t want to get up. Can’t we take the day off and just sleep in? Isn’t my bed comfortable?"

Alan asked as he nuzzled against Noah’s beck. The warmth of the esper made Noah shudder but he knew that he could not allow himself to get distracted by Alan. He needed to force Alan to get up...before the esper somehow found a way to make Noah agree.

Thankfully, there was one more rational person who ended up trying to tug Noah out of Alan’s arms and that was Daniel.

"You can let go of Noah now. You can see that he’s not comfortable being in your arms right now. Besides, we have an important orientation today that we cannot miss. Noah will likely hate you if you make him miss it."

Noah wanted to say that he did not care about the orientation, but he did not say much since Alan just pouted and let him go.

"This is not fairrrrr. Noah, you better make it up to me later for this."

Alan complained before he went off to freshen up.
