Chapter 62: Ch 62: You’ll drop the Charges, right?

"Congratulations, Alan, Daniel. We heard that you finally made your relationship public. So, when is the wedding?"

Noah was pushed aside by their classmates who wanted to talk to Alan and Daniel, but he did not mind.

In fact, he preferred it this way since it allowed him to move without being caught by anyone. That was how he made his way to his seat and let out a relieved sigh.

He sat beside Ethan, who gave him a wide-eyed look. His eyes kept looking at Noah’s exposed neck before checking his body, and he let out a sigh of relief once he saw that Noah was safe.

"Nothing happened last night?"

Ethan asked, and Noah almost shook his head before he recalled what he had done last night with the other two. Thankfully, he had thick skin, so the rising heat did not show up on his face.

"Last night went fine. Pretend as if I was never there."

Noah told Ethan, and the esper looked surprised but then decided to nod and go along with what Noah wanted.

The crowd near the door was not lowering even after five minutes had passed, and it was about this time when Daniel usually lost his temper.

Noah could see the top of Daniel’s head shaking, which meant he was about to yell. But luckily for the other students, the teacher decided to arrive, and they were all forced to sit back in their seats.

He did feel sorry for what Daniel had to deal with, but Noah looked at this development. He looked at the future couple sitting in front of him with a smile, but then Alan decided to turn around and give him a patient look that startled Noah.

’What was that look for? Did Alan want to say something to me?’

Noah felt the need to ask, but the teacher decided it was time to start the class, and Noah was forced to give up.

He endured the looks the teacher was giving him and then the adoring looks Daniel and Alan were getting from her, and he concentrated on the book in front of him.

It was clear that she knew about what had happened, and she was showing her displeasure openly.

Noah was also sure that he would get a summons from the teachers soon.

And just as expected, as soon as the lunch bell rang, the teacher headed toward his seat and tapped on it.

"Student Noah, please follow me. There is something we need to discuss regarding your future."

Noah sighed and silently followed the teacher out. Saying no here was not an option, and he did not want to cause a scene either.

Everyone was still focusing on Alan and Daniel because of the rumors, and Noah wanted this atmosphere to last. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

He did not notice the two pairs of eyes looking back at him from inside the classroom.

Noah followed the teacher back to the common room, and he immediately sensed the presence of other teachers behind the room. Their presence felt hostile, which made him pause outside the door.

"Is something wrong, Student? If not, then follow me in."

The teacher looked back at him without her signature smile, and Noah felt forced to follow her in order to not let his suspicion show on his face.

The atmosphere inside the common room did not improve. If anything, the air got even tenser, and Noah felt like he was being pressed by the teachers’ gazes.

"Student, I hope you are aware of why you are here. But if not, then I hope this will make things much clearer for you."

The gym teacher presented Noah with a familiar-looking piece of paper. It was the contract form that said that Noah would not press any charges against other students or the academy for anything that happened.

’So, this is the way these teachers are trying to get out of trouble? Do they think I am that easy to fool?’

Usually, Noah would have given in to the teachers’ demands and done as they asked, but even he had his limits. And the second they had decided to involve Daniel’s safety, they had crossed it.

Noah had no intention of making things easier for them.

’Ah, if I allow that creep to remain in the academy, then he will just go after Daniel. I initially decided to turn a blind eye because I thought it would bring Alan and Daniel closer. But I won’t make that mistake anymore.’

There was a better way for Daniel and Alan to get closer, and all it required was a little sacrifice from Noah.

Anyway, the important part here was the fact that Noah no longer had a need to play along with these teachers. So he was going to avoid signing this contract.

His silence and hesitation were starting to make his teachers annoyed. He could see the veins popping in their heads, and the gym teacher cleared his throat and straightened his back to show dominance.

"Student Noah, please stop playing around and sign this contract. Or, if you need my help with signing this contract, tell me. I will remind you how to sign this contract."

The gym teacher seemed to be itching for a fight, and Noah decided to back down.

"I am sorry, but is it possible for me to take this contract back and get it checked by my guardian once? They told me that I cannot sign anything that they have not approved of before."

Noah immediately noticed the teachers flinching.

Perhaps this was something they had never considered—a student asking to take their contract back and get it checked.

Most students here belonged to well-off families, and those who did not had a lot of connections. These teachers likely thought that Noah belonged in the second category as well because they decided to back down.

"Student Noah, you are an adult. You need to start taking charge of your own decisions—"

"But my guardians are paying for this academy. If I don’t follow what they say, then they will get angry. Not only will they stop paying for me, but they will also file a complaint against the academy."

Noah was bullshitting, but the teachers did not know this. And because they did not know this, they decided not to take the risk. They sighed and looked at each other before deciding to drop this topic.

"Well, it looks like we are at a standstill. But you do understand that it’s all because of you, Student? And since we are being so accommodating, we need you to do something for us as well."

The teachers tried to frame it as a favor, but Noah knew he did not have a choice from the start.

Still, he decided to smile and pretend he understood.

Seeing this, the teachers let out a sigh and replied.

"We need you to promise us that you won’t press charges against anyone. You are a good student, so you will listen to us, right?"

Noah nodded, agreeing with the teachers. He wouldn’t be pressing charges. But he had other ways to ensure the stalker wouldn’t be seen anywhere near Daniel.
