Chapter 63: Ch 63: Decisions are made

"Of course I won’t press charges against anyone. I don’t want to cause trouble. Thank you for understanding my problem with not being able to sign the contract."

Noah pretended to be shy, and the teachers ate his acting up. They looked at him with tender eyes, which made him pause and shudder, before they started to laugh nervously.

"T-That’s good! Also, can you try and talk to your roommate, Student Daniel? And his partner, Student Alan as well? We wouldn’t want them to get in trouble either by pressing charges..."

These teachers were really something else.

Noah knew that Alan was interested in what was happening to Daniel, but the teachers now wanted to throw him under the bus in order to calm Alan down? That was not happening.

According to the information Noah had, Alan was someone who was going to save Daniel a few times without even realizing his feelings, and they were currently in that time period.

He was not going to risk his life and friendship with Alan by doing something as stupid as trying to convince him not to take revenge.

But since the teachers wanted to hear it from him, he just nodded.

"Alright."

He gave a false promise and was finally let go.

By the time Noah went back to the classroom, lunch was already over.

His stomach protested at the fact that he had not eaten since yesterday, but he did not have time to grab something before their teacher came.

Noah’s mood was low due to his hunger, but that was when Ethan decided to present him with a granola bar.

"Here, I figured you might be hungry after not being able to have lunch. Sorry that I was not able to get something more from the cafeteria for you."

Ethan looked sorry, but the fact that he had offered food to Noah was more than enough to make him feel better.

Also, his stomach was really hungry, and Noah was not going to look his good luck in the face and question it.

He devoured the bar as quickly as he could and finished just before the teacher came inside with a happy look on his face.

He looked at Noah with smiling eyes, which made his skin crawl, but the teacher quickly went back to teaching them. But throughout the lesson, the teacher kept stealing glances at Noah and also at the Alan-Daniel pair with a proud look on his face.

"Hey, is it only me, or is our teacher acting creepy today?"

It was so bad that even Ethan noticed and commented on it. But Noah decided to shake his head and not comment on it.

Sometimes, it was better to pretend to be clueless than to know too much. And now was certainly that time for him.

Thankfully, the good mood of their teacher meant that their class was let go of early so that they could enjoy their time outside, and Noah kept sitting at his seat, not knowing what he should do.

Was it finally time for him to head back to his room and check it out? Somehow, his heart skipped a beat just thinking about it, and his instincts warned him that it was not a good idea.

Still...

’I cannot keep imposing on Alan all the time. If I do, then he won’t have any time to get close to Daniel. They have finally started getting along...’

But the pair was not even looking at each other as they walked toward him.

’...or not. But at least there is a little progress. That has to count for something.’

Noah sighed in relief at the fact that the two people in front of him were finally getting along, not realizing that it was not because they had learned to tolerate each other, but because they had formed a pact with each other.

And it was better for his sanity that he did not know about this for now.

"These bastards are getting on my nerves. Do they not have anything better to do than to come over and cause me grief? Why do they think I would ever want a relationship with you of all people?"

Daniel complained as he tried his best to deny any and all comments about his ’relationship’ with Alan.

He was hearing the same compliments since the morning, and it was starting to get on his nerves. Why did these people think there was anything going on between them when they could not even stand to see each other?

Moreover, these rumors about him spending a night in Alan’s room were spreading, but they had no mention of Noah anywhere.

"Are these people just choosing to see what they want and ignoring everything else? The reason I even came to your room is because Noah wanted to."

Which was something Daniel was still pissed off about.

He knew that Alan was the best protection they could get in their current situation, but that did not mean he liked the fact that Noah chose to run to him rather than talking things out with Daniel.

Alan, that bastard, just smirked and mocked him.

"Well, what can we do about it? And honestly, I am happy that these people are keeping Noah’s name out of their mouths. It makes me less likely to kill them."

Daniel shuddered at those words, knowing full well that Alan was able to follow through with them. He had nothing else to talk to Alan about, but the esper was not done with his bullshit.

"Hey, I have a proposal for you as well. Why don’t we act like we are close for now? These people won’t leave us alone if we keep being stubborn, but if we admit to our relationship, then they will leave us alone. They won’t have a reason to bother Noah either-"

"Don’t get too ahead of yourself! You and I? In a relationship? That will never happen. I would rather-"

"But I thought you liked Noah. Don’t you want to be with him? Or do you think you stand a chance against me? I am offering you an opportunity to be with Noah once I claim him. You can either choose yes or deny me and forever lose him. The choice is yours."
