Chapter 61: Ch 61: A Shaky Next morning

"My dear guide is so cute. He was embarrassed, so he ran away from us."

Alan looked at the bathroom door where Noah had disappeared, and the closed door ensured the others wouldn’t be able to hear anything.

Not that it was a problem for Alan.

If he wanted to, he could concentrate and hear what Noah was doing. But he decided to give his precious guide some privacy for now. After all, Noah wouldn’t have it for long once he officially belonged to Alan.

"Stop trying to call Noah ’yours.’ He is his very own person with his own feelings and emotions. He does not belong to anyone but himself. We need to respect any decision he makes."

Daniel’s words doused his passionate fire with a bucket of water, and it made Alan’s mood become worse.

’Right, there is this annoyance still here. Now, what can I do to get rid of him? Should I kill him...but no, Noah might decide he does not want to talk to me anymore. Not that I won’t be able to get him back eventually. But I don’t want to lose any progress I made.’

Unfortunately, this meant that Daniel would get to live another day.

For now, Alan was content to leave Daniel be. Since he was not harming him or making him feel annoyed, it felt just right.

But of course, Daniel had to open his mouth and speak.

"Hey, do you feel like Noah is trying to hide something from us? Sometimes, he has that look on his face like he is holding back. And then he pushes us together. Do you think it’s deliberate? I just have a feeling..."

Daniel muttered, and Alan wanted to tell him that he was overthinking things.

But thinking back to it...Noah had tried his best to push both him and Daniel together...almost as if that was what he wanted.

"Tsk, you think he is trying to push us together?"

Alan asked, and Daniel bit his lip before he answered.

"I cannot be sure, but I have a feeling...Even when we were together just now, he continued to mediate the air between us. And even if that is not the reason, Noah is hiding too much from us."

Alan could not deny it. Noah was hiding a lot from them, and he did not like it.

However, his rational side also pointed out an important fact.

"Just how long have we known Noah for? I don’t think we should expect him to reveal his secrets so soon."

His words made Daniel go quiet in an unexpected way. And Alan felt like he understood the feeling Daniel was having.

After all, even though he had only known Noah for a week, somehow, it felt like he had known him for much longer. It was almost as if he had known him their whole life, and he was supposed to know all about Noah.

His instincts were also in agreement, which made his mood worsen.

’Just what is going on with me? I feel like I am beginning to crave Noah more and more each second. I want him for myself, even if I have to share him...No, why would I even think that? I will have Noah for myself and discard him when it’s time...’

Alan was starting to feel like it wouldn’t be possible for him soon enough. He was getting too deep into the situation with Noah, so maybe it was time to distract himself from it...

But before that, he needed to resolve the situation with the school. He did not want to leave Noah at the mercy of these vultures.

It took Noah far too long to compose himself. The water helped clear his thoughts for a few seconds before they came swimming back.

He felt like a traitor for even entertaining a future with Daniel and Alan. It was not something he was permitted to even think about. And even the system was warning him.

Ever since he had seen the first flash of the future of this world, he had made it his mission to make sure it came to pass. The scientists at the labs had not believed him at first, but when his words started to come true, they began to believe him more and more.

Of course, he had not told them anything about the system, but he was sure they had their suspicions. That was why they had decided to hold his freedom under their abilities.

The curse of that power was pulsing under his body, and it was unusually loud today.

"Is it because it thinks I am trying to interfere in Alan and Daniel’s relationship? I will need to be more careful from here on."

Noah sighed as he made up his mind and came out. Both Daniel and Alan were looking at him with intense eyes that made him feel like prey.

It made Noah want to take a step back, but he held his ground and gestured toward the bathroom to signal that it was empty.

"You can head in now to freshen up."

Daniel nodded and quietly went in first.

Noah expected Alan to comment on what they had just done, but Alan remained quiet. His eyes kept looking at Noah, which made him feel self-conscious. Thankfully, Daniel came back quickly, and it was Alan’s turn to freshen up.

They both did not bring up what they had just done, which made Noah feel relieved but disappointed at the same time. He felt like he needed to have closure that he was not getting from them.

But maybe it was for the best since Noah did not feel like he had the mental capacity to be able to think about this stuff.

They headed toward the class, but Noah forgot about one thing—they were in the esper building and in Alan’s room. Which meant that everyone would know what happened by the end of the first period.

Noah was not ready for the rumors, but luckily, there were none...

At least, none about him. For now, the whole academy was buzzing with rumors about how Daniel spent a night in Alan’s room and their supposed relationship. But there was no mention of Noah, which made him feel relieved and disappointed at the same time.ℯℯ𝘭.
