World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch
Chapter 135: Entering The Dungeon
The next day...
"It’s actually my first time entering a Rank Two Dungeon, so I am really excited..." Liam said as he walked toward the academy building with Evan and Kevin.
"Where are Alice and Erza?" Evan asked when he didn’t see either of them.
"They are waiting for us at the teleporter that will take us to the Animal Kingdom Dungeon," Kevin replied.
"Teleporter..." Evan’s eyes gleamed slightly as he recalled what Liam had told him about it last night during dinner.
Since all the dungeons were located in different places, the academy had created teleportation arrays to connect to them.
Using these teleportation arrays, students could travel directly to the locations of the dungeons without worrying about the distance.
After entering the academy building, they went to the fourth floor, where there was only a single room.
As they entered the room, Evan noticed that there were no students inside. Only a male elf, who was very likely a Rank Four Evolver, was sitting behind a reception desk, reading a book.
When Liam and the others entered, the elf glanced at them briefly before shifting his attention back to the book in his hand.
Liam and Kevin didn’t bother him and led Evan deeper into the room.
As they walked, Evan noticed numerous small platforms built throughout the room. The platforms were engraved with complex runes and appeared to be made from very high-quality materials.
’So these are the teleporters,’ Evan thought as he gazed at the numerous platforms.
What surprised him even more was that there were over fifty platforms inside the room, each leading to a different location.
’Over fifty different dungeons, and this might not even be all the dungeons under the academy’s control...’ He thought with a sigh, feeling that the resources available on a Rank Three Planet were truly incomparable to those of a Rank One Planet like Planet Zarth.
Following Liam and Kevin, Evan soon reached the deeper part of the room, where he spotted Alice and Erza standing near one of the teleporters.
Seeing them approach, Alice nodded and immediately stepped onto the teleporter.
"Since everyone’s here, let’s go."
Once everyone was standing on the platform, Alice took out the same token she had used inside the academy earlier and formed several hand seals while holding it.
Suddenly, the runes engraved on the platform lit up, and a flash of light enveloped them. By the time the light faded, Evan and the others had already disappeared from the platform.
Evan felt as if his world had spun slightly, and a mild dizziness assaulted him.
However, the feeling didn’t last long, and he soon recovered.
"I really hate using teleporters because of this dizziness..." He heard Kevin’s annoyed voice.
Looking around, Evan saw that Liam and the others were rubbing their foreheads, trying to recover from the dizziness as well.
Ignoring them, he examined his surroundings and realized they were inside a small room. There was nothing inside except the teleportation array.
Around ten seconds later, Alice was the first to recover completely. Soon, Liam and the others regained their senses as well, and everyone left the room.
When Evan stepped outside, he found himself in a forest with several wooden buildings scattered around the teleportation room.
However, he ignored the buildings and looked to his right, where he could feel mana fluctuating wildly.
Turning his head, he saw a five-meter-high green door. The sight reminded him of the entrance to the Castle of Lizardmen Dungeon.
Two High Elves with powerful auras stood guard at the dungeon entrance.
Before heading toward the dungeon, Alice took out several crystals from her Storage Ring and handed one to everyone.
Evan was confused by her actions but accepted the crystal anyway. The moment he held it in his hand, his status window displayed its details.
---) Exit Stone: Upon use, the user can instantly leave a dungeon.
A look of surprise appeared on Evan’s face when he saw the details of the Exit Stone.
He had heard about these items from Venisa after returning from the Skeleton Graveyard Dungeon.
"Although this dungeon isn’t very difficult, we still can’t afford to be careless," Alice said with a faint smile when she noticed the surprised look on his face.
Evan nodded at her words and put the Exit Stone into his Storage Ring.
Liam and the others also stored their Exit Stones before turning their attention toward the dungeon entrance.
"Let’s go and conquer our first Rank Two Dungeon!" Liam exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with excitement as he rushed forward.
Kevin and the others shook their heads at his enthusiasm and followed after him.
"Oh, right!" Just then, Alice remembered something and took a box out of her Storage Ring before handing it to Evan. "These are the bolts you asked for last night. They should be more than enough for you to use in the dungeon."
Evan’s eyes lit up when he heard Alice’s words and he immediately opened the box, revealing the crossbow bolts he had asked her for during dinner the previous night.
Picking up one of the bolts, he examined its details.
---) Nether Steel Bolt (Rank One): A bolt made from Nether Steel. It is highly durable and sharp.
Evan nodded after reading its description and looked at Alice gratefully.
"Thanks! I’ll pay you back after I get some Mana Cores from this dungeon."
Alice shook her head at his words.
"There is no need. They are just Rank One bolts. If you really want to repay us, just treat us to a good meal."
Soon, they arrived at the dungeon entrance, where the two guards stopped them.
"Please show us your permit."
"Here." Alice handed them a golden insignia that looked completely different from the tokens Evan had seen before.
After examining the insignia, the guards stepped aside, allowing Alice and the others to enter.
"Remember, don’t hesitate to use the Exit Stone if you find yourself in danger," Alice reminded everyone in a serious voice before entering the dungeon.
Everyone nodded at her words and stepped forward, entering the dungeon as well.
