World Evolution Apocalypse: I Possess The Extraction Ability
Chapter 338: Dark Matter Again
The abomination lay on the ground, its grotesquely enormous body spanning several hundred meters. Leon scowled at the sight.
With the Titanbreaker Spear in his hand, he took a step forward.
"Selene, you support me in suppressing it."
The young lady nodded and raised her hands. "Blizzard."
Bang!
A burst of cold air exploded from her, sweeping the area with a chilling mist.
Leon was already moving. He shot straight at the creature, his gaze locked on it. Then, he used an ability he hadn’t used ever since he learned it.
Something flashed in his gaze, and several cuts appeared on the flesh of the abomination. Stirred from its slumber by the unusual cold and the wounds, the creature opened its countless mouths and released a cacophony of chaotic sounds.
Some mouths wailed, some roared, some shrieked, and some hummed.
Leon paused, feeling his ears throb and his skin crawl from disgust.
Still, he didn’t stop.
From the shadow of his spear, he created an enormous shadow spear and threw it at the beast.
BANG!
The weapon sank into its flesh, disappearing deep inside. Blood poured from the wound, but the creature didn’t even flinch. It merely writhed, then sealed the wound shut.
Leon deadpanned. "Too big to kill, huh?"
Kicking off the ground, he shot to the left, placing himself right before what he assumed to be its head. After all, the countless eyes were clustered on that segment of its body.
Activating his new ability again, his eyes flashed, and several eyeballs were sliced open.
The abomination recoiled, its other uninjured eyes snapping shut as it wailed with all its mouths.
Suddenly, a thick ice spike smashed into it from the side, sinking into its flesh just like Leon’s shadow spear did. It quickly sealed its flesh shut, but Selene had expected this.
With a single snap of her finger, the highly condensed ice within the ice spear exploded, blowing off a chunk of its flesh and freezing the fresh wound.
Leon blinked. "Damn. That’s a banger."
He immediately used the cutting ability on the eyes again, destroying more of them. Seeing that the destroyed eyes didn’t regenerate, he realized something important.
’It can only use the excess flesh it has to mend its wounds. It can’t regenerate organs...’
Although he had learned that, it wasn’t exactly useful. Scowling, he attacked the remaining eyes over and over, until almost all the eyes had been destroyed.
The abomination wailed, writhing in pain as another ice spike sank into its flesh. Instead of sealing it within its body, it immediately tried to push it out. However, Selene expected this so she quickly detonated the spike the moment it entered the abomination’s body.
BANG!
Another chunk of flesh exploded, and this time, the creature roared in pain and fury. Leon quickly flashed to Selene’s side. He winced from the biting cold, glancing down at the ice covering the ground.
"Looks like I can’t do any real damage without nuking it. I blinded it, though... a little."
Selene nodded. "I’ll see what I can do."
She took a deep breath, then created four ice spikes at the same time. Leon’s eyes widened at the sight, wondering how large her mana reserves were.
The thick spikes shrank as they were condensed until they looked no different than normal spikes.
Leon shivered and stepped back.
With a flick of her finger, the four spikes shot at the abomination. At the same time, it turned toward them, rolling forward like a ball to crush them.
BAANG!
The ice spikes sank into its flesh, then exploded. It stopped rolling towards them as a quarter of its body was destroyed. It began knitting the flesh again, trying to close up the wound.
Leon was about to tell Selene to shoot again when he saw that her face was unnaturally pale.
’Yeah, shooting six bazookas like that is enough to drain her completely.’
Wrapping his weapon in its own shadow, he disappeared in a flash of light.
He reappeared right above the abomination, his hand drawn back as he descended. As much as he would have loved to use Mental Dominion on the creature, he knew it wouldn’t have much effect.
So, he threw the spear and disappeared again.
The air curled around the spear, then snapped.
Pa!
BOOM!
The enchantment of the spear that made it heavy worked wonders, and it sank into the abomination’s body with its crushing weight.
The creature was almost flattened to the ground, and a deep crater was formed around it.
Leon reappeared beside Selene, panting slightly. "Oof. My arm feels a little numb."
She shot him a look. "You just lost your weapon."
"Oh..." Leon blinked, then looked at the creature.
He had managed to create a large hole in its body, but his weapon was probably deep in the ground.
"Is it done?" He asked calmly.
Selene nodded. "Although it seems strangely weak compared to what we saw back then, it is still the same. Anyway, it can’t escape now. I already have it pinned."
Leon grinned. "Time to nuke it."
Selene elbowed him and said, "Stop calling it a nuke. I’m sure you wouldn’t want to see one coming at you, right?"
Leon’s expression turned solemn, and he nodded. "Alright, alright. I got that. You should move back."
Selene nodded and immediately bolted, startled when she ran into Gwen and the others. She was about to ask them what they were doing here when she remembered what Leon was about to do.
Her expression changed.
"Move back!"
They only hesitated briefly before dashing backwards.
Unaware of their presence, Leon raised his hand and pointed a finger at the abomination. It had mostly recovered from his previous attack and was trying to move forward.
Strangely, however, it could not move. Its body had been frozen to the ground by the surrounding ice.
Leon watched this and smiled.
"Dark Matter."
The space around his pointed finger darkened, and a mass of darkness was quickly formed. It started large, then began shrinking until it was only as big as a pebble.
Leon blinked as a drop of sweat entered his eyes. Then, he released it and sank into his own shadow.
The black pebble shot at the immobilized abomination and touched its body.
