Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 516: World Rectification Ritual
Chapter 516 -372: World Rectification Ritual
Two and a half years passed in the blink of an eye. Isaac and two others stood in the Royal Capital’s main square, having completed the second routine inspection of the World Rectification Ceremony.
The World Rectification Ceremony. It is an ancient, ultra-large-scale Magic Ceremony of an exceptional standard. Its power is determined by the scale of its execution. It was originally designed to capture Deities. Depending on the target’s power level, it requires varying amounts of materials and time, making it incredibly time-consuming and expensive. The resources needed to set up such a ceremony are roughly equivalent to the cost of two Empires waging a high-intensity war for ten years!
Furthermore, the ceremony must remain active for fifty years, and a ritual adjustment must be performed annually.
The cost is enormous!
Of course, for such a high cost, the effect it achieved was also ridiculously powerful, because it could *actually* capture a Deity!
Upon the ceremony’s completion, the one presiding over it can establish a one-sided, compulsory contract with the target Deity. The presider then gains the ability to summon the Deity once a year. All costs for this Summoning are borne by the Deity itself, and once summoned, the Deity will be forcibly controlled for one hour!
After the period of control ends, the Deity will be forcibly returned to its Divine Kingdom. Furthermore, outside of the Summoning period, the Deity’s Divine Kingdom will be kept in a forcibly sealed state. The Deity itself, its Followers, and even its divine might will be completely sealed within the Divine Kingdom!
It could be called the deluxe Master Ball of the Otherworld!
The effect is pretty damn amazing!
But unfortunately, while its effect was powerful, when it came to practicality…
…it was also a first-class white elephant.
First, aside from the exorbitant cost of the ceremony, you also need to subdue and suppress a Deity for fifty continuous years…
Of course, if that were all, it might still be manageable. After all, a Tier Six combatant is indeed hard to find. But the fatal flaw is that this ceremony does not ignore the World Wall…
In other words, in the Real World, a Tier Six Deity can only exhibit the combat power of a Tier Three…
…and even that comes at a considerable price. As for Tier Four or higher?
Don’t even think about it. Because for a Deity to exert power at Tier Four or above under the Real World’s suppression, there is one essential requirement for any Deity: fanatical believers!
This creates a very awkward situation. A Deity that has been enslaved… forget fanatical believers, it’s doubtful if they could even have any True Believers.
On top of that, this kind of action easily offends Deities. Even if you specifically capture an Evil God, it’s the same. It’s still a distasteful affair, and that feeling of revulsion isn’t going away. You never know when they might just erupt.
Therefore, although the ceremony was successfully developed, it hasn’t actually been used to capture very many Deities.
However, as times changed and the Wizard Civilization developed, this thing finally saw its dawn, escaping the fate of being shelved—that’s right, it’s now used to merge Little Worlds.
Similarly, the required materials and activation time for the ceremony vary depending on the size of the Little World. However, according to statistics so far, for a Little World that has nurtured a Tier Five lifeform, the merging process only takes sixteen years.
And that is already the highest-rated category of Little World. Anything beyond that no longer falls into the category of a Little World.
After all, a Tier Six True God is a major figure no matter where they go. A world capable of containing such an Existence couldn’t possibly have a low planar standing.
While they can also be merged, the difficulty of conquering them is higher, and their potential is considerable. It would be too much of a loss to just merge them directly.
‘Hmm, the most important point is that they are too difficult to conquer. The strength of the World Wall takes a qualitative leap!’
Even Wizards have only researched methods to temporarily shield or suppress it. There’s no way to solve it once and for all. The cost of merging is too high, and it’s extremely easy for the expenditure to outweigh the gains.
It’s worth mentioning that this second effect has a miraculous synergy with the first one—the world-merging effect also works on Divine Kingdoms! And the difficulty isn’t high!
This is because the Deity is equivalent to the Divine Kingdom’s world consciousness and has already been dominated once. But because of this, when the Divine Kingdom merges into the Real World, the Deity itself will also perish!
Evil Gods are no exception!
It counts as a god-slaying Ritual Magic with both high power and high cost.
For this reason, the highest-grade materials for this ceremony are all controlled substances. Although the conditions are a bit harsh, it does pose a real and tangible threat to Deities. Currently, the ceremony is only used for capturing Little Worlds, where the output-to-input ratio is relatively reasonable.
After all, the feedback from merging a Little World is quite substantial for a Tier Five powerhouse. Each wave of feedback allows them to take a significant step forward on the Path of the Extraordinary!
The only regret is that for ambitious Legendary Mages like Isaac, it isn’t very useful. It’s not that it can’t replace a promotion ritual… it’s just that compared to a Heroic Feat, it still falls far short.
For Isaac, the greatest use of the feedback is to strengthen his Anchor Points to the Real World. This allows him to withdraw his own power from the Outer Gods with fewer restraints.
Unfortunately, the higher the level of a ceremony, the harder it is to modify. Thus, even after so many years of development, the duration of the World Rectification Ceremony has not been significantly reduced. For this particular Little World to fully merge into the Real World, it will take about ten years.
This was also why Philo hadn’t been too concerned about the start time. She wanted the population here. Ten years was more than enough time to either transfer the people or exploit the resources. As long as one didn’t drain the well dry by over-exploiting the resources like Angel had, the World Rectification Ceremony would not be affected.
After slightly adjusting and replacing some of the ritual materials, Isaac nodded with satisfaction. Although the ceremony would take ten years and required a routine inspection every year, in reality, only the second and final years were the most important.
