Chapter 505: Chapter 364: Caesar: The Knight World’s Avin Has Appeared?
Although it had been a while since he last researched Magic Potions, Isaac’s proficiency in this area hadn’t diminished much.
After all, a Legendary Mage’s Ancient Alchemy was deeply intertwined with the Concept. As long as his skill in manipulating the Concept was sharp, his proficiency in Ancient Alchemy couldn’t be too low. At most, there would only be a gap in experience.
Plus, there was the bonus from the Magic Soup.
However, this was an area Isaac had never neglected. Though he rarely brewed Magic Potions himself anymore, he had consistently been nurturing the Magic Soup in his Magic Cauldron. Its quality hadn’t just been maintained; it had improved significantly.
After all, the Magic Soup wasn’t just for brewing Magic Potions; it also had a beneficial effect on Magic Items.
Thus, Isaac quickly completed the preliminary design for the relevant Magic Potion formulas. Any further progress would have to wait for news from the Witch Country. Once he got their approval, he could begin his work.
Looking at the proposal in his hands, Isaac nodded in satisfaction. As things stood, the success rate was quite high, regardless of which formula he chose.
This was partly thanks to Isaac’s incredibly powerful control over the Concept. On the other hand, the Golden Finger’s ability to compensate for weaknesses and increase the margin for error was also crucial.
After finishing the rough proposal, Isaac sent it to Angel. This was partly to let Angel make a choice, which would help him establish the main research direction. Also, if she chose the option involving treasures, she would need to start paying close attention to finding the relevant ones.
Isaac doubted they could resist the temptation to enhance their strength by just taking potions.
The other reason was to prepare for the review process with the Witch Country.
He was confident in the proposal he had already submitted for review, but unfortunately, the reputation of a Mad Witch was simply too terrible. The world had too many misconceptions about him. Sending this over would undoubtedly improve his chances of getting approval.
’And at the same time, maybe I can leverage some of Angel’s influence?’
In the end, as expected, Angel chose the path of concocting with treasures.
This prompted an inward sigh from Isaac. ’What a bunch of rich ladies. To think they’d spend so much extra money just to avoid eating something that’s basically tasteless "shit"...’
But it was the client’s request, so Isaac had to oblige. It didn’t make much of a difference to him, anyway.
Having established a general direction, Isaac temporarily shelved the project to await news from the Witch Country.
However, he didn’t resume his research on the Star Knight either. He was still lacking sufficient data in that area; he needed more Furnace Skills.
The first few steps in developing the Star Knight path had gone relatively smoothly. After all, the creation of the Shadow of the Star God relied mainly on Meditation, a practice that was not at all foreign to Knights.
In the Real World, many Knights learned Meditation to help them better control their physical bodies and purge the negative emotions that came with excessive killing.
Although a Knight’s Path of the Extraordinary, much like a Wizard’s, involves the soul being strengthened alongside the body, this was a passive strengthening, just like a Wizard’s Physical Enhancement. Without dedicated training, it couldn’t be properly utilized.
Furthermore, if one focused on training it, the results would naturally be even better.
Thus, there were plenty of successful precedents to draw from, so the difficulty wasn’t very high. The only thing that required fine-tuning was a single element: the Power of Star God.
It was worth mentioning that while a Knight’s Melting Furnace was incredibly potent—theoretically capable of refining anything—that was only in theory. In practice, the gap between a powerful Furnace Skill and an Ordinary one was enormous. Therefore, when meditating on the Shadow of the Star God, Knights could not be as indiscriminate as Wizards.
They had to choose a suitable Power of Star God based on their own traits and the specifics of their Furnace Skill. While this hampered the efficiency of their Meditation to some degree, it allowed them to advance further down the line, paving the way for their future.
Isaac believed this was a necessary compromise.
None of this posed a major challenge for Isaac. He even had methods to safely accelerate Meditation efficiency. After all, Meditation had always been a Wizard’s specialty—even if he himself had only done it a handful of times.
What truly had Isaac stuck was the Furnace Skill!
The difficulty of refining the Shadow of the Star God was far higher than he had anticipated. Even the Black Knight’s Furnace Skill was incapable of it...
This wasn’t a problem he could solve in a short amount of time. Isaac needed more Furnace Skills to use as a foundation for creating a new one, specifically designed to refine the Shadow of the Star God!
So, Isaac decided to work on something else for a while to give his brain a rest.
This time, however, he didn’t start any major research projects. Instead, he simply picked a few small topics to study from the Star Mage’s book collection. For one thing, while his Star Knight research was stalled, it wasn’t a critical issue. As long as he gathered enough data on Furnace Skills, everything else would naturally fall into place.
So, he was actually just waiting for his brother to collect, organize, and send over more Furnace Skills. It wouldn’t take long, so there was no need to start another major project.
However, that would only be enough to create the first stage of the Star Furnace Technique—a Tier Three Furnace Skill. As for a Tier Four version...
Isaac had no intention of completing that himself. He just needed to create a basic, Tier Three version and leave the rest for the Knights to figure out on their own.
After all, Isaac wasn’t also walking the Path of the Knight. At the lower tiers, it was fine; he could extrapolate from data. But at the higher tiers, even with the assistance of his Golden Finger and Authority, he’d inevitably end up building castles in the air.
