Chapter 504: Chapter 363: Isaac: Foolish Witches~

So, for the time being, Isaac wouldn’t be considering the fundamental nature of the Star Realm Armament ability. Besides its nature...

It held no real appeal for him. He wasn’t a melee Wizard, not the type to fight with weapons. He also commanded the far more comprehensive and powerful [Analysis], and was already working on upgrading it. Naturally, he had little interest in this limited version of [Analysis].

To him, this was just like the mock Spell he had just chanted—nothing more than an... interesting toy.

After a brief overview of the Star Mage’s general power, Isaac returned to his laboratory. He didn’t, however, continue his research on the Star Knight. That project had hit a bottleneck, and he needed more data on the Furnace Skill, which couldn’t be obtained here.

Instead, he decided to do some preliminary planning for his research on Witches.

Witches. Contrary to the largely negative perception held by the public, the definition used by Wizards has never changed: darlings of the world.

Because the vast majority of Witches can smoothly advance to Tier Three, relying solely on the power within their bloodline!

And they all possess extremely powerful Magic and Magic Power!

Isaac had always been curious about the power of Witches, not just because it served as preliminary research for Bloodline Mages, but also because of his thirst for the unknown.

After all, this power had one very distinct characteristic—it was gender-specific...

A long time ago, before the Witch Country was even established, a Wizard conducted an experiment. He changed a Witch’s gender!

Posterity could never know what motivated him to conduct such an experiment, but the world made all Wizards understand the most unique aspect of this power: gender!

Every Witch whose gender was changed lost all of her immense power!

Both their Magic and their Magic Power!

Even the Magic Contracts they had signed!

Whether they were mature and powerful Tier Three Witches, still-developing Tier One or Two Witches, or even unborn Witch fetuses—the moment their gender was changed, they lost everything!

Strangely, however, changing their race had no such effect...

As long as their gender remained unchanged, their power was unaffected...

This made Isaac all the more curious. After all, in the world he’d come from before transmigration, public discourse on related topics was extremely sensitive. So when Isaac learned of the sealed records of this experiment, he was absolutely stunned!

He even suspected for a time that he had transmigrated into the world of a novel written for a female audience.

From that point on, he had wanted to study the power of Witches. Lorna’s arrival only intensified this desire. Unfortunately, research on the topic was strictly blockaded by the Witch Country. Without permission, a Wizard could at most learn what experiments had been conducted in the past, and...

...the tragic fates of the Wizards who proceeded without permission.

There wasn’t a shred of concrete experimental data.

With such cautionary tales before him, he didn’t dare conduct any unauthorized research on Lorna.

However...

After a long period of observation, Isaac had passively acquired a small amount of data. Although the Witch Country had the ability to prohibit this, they had chosen not to.

After all, strictly speaking, this was also an opportunity for some weaker Witches—a chance for them to grow stronger over time.

While this data was insufficient to design effective experiments, it was more than enough to create a rough plan.

Isaac’s original research plan for Witches was divided into three main parts: Witch Bloodline research, Witch Magic Technique research, and exclusive Witch Meditation Skills.

These three were all conventional areas of study. Most contemporary research on Witches revolved around them, and all had yielded certain results.

Thus, with his abilities, once Isaac obtained permission, these findings could serve as his foundation, greatly enhancing his research efficiency.

After all, Isaac’s research on Witches was partly to satisfy his own thirst for Knowledge and partly to pave the way for research on Bloodline Mages. There was no need to resort to any unorthodox methods.

Now, however, he had to add one more item to the list: Witch Bloodline development.

This hadn’t originally been one of Isaac’s research projects. He had observed Lorna’s Cultivation and found that although her method for developing her bloodline was extremely primitive, he had to admit it was the most suitable method for a Witch.

A Witch’s power was too dangerous; rushing its development would inevitably lead to significant side effects.

A Witch’s power was already immense. Instead of taking risky shortcuts to pursue power, it was better to calmly and steadily develop their bloodline and learn to wield their own Magic effectively. This method would also increase their strength, and it was much safer.

The rate of power increase through this method wouldn’t even be inferior to those unorthodox paths.

But this was just Isaac’s perspective. After all, compared to power, he personally valued Knowledge more, not just strength for its own sake.

Witches, however, were clearly different. Especially since most of them weren’t mentally stable, their pursuit of power tended to be more extreme.

But since the client had a demand, what could Isaac say?

Time to research.

Coincidentally, although he had little personal interest in the matter, he did happen to know of several high-probability solutions!

As the saying goes...

"I’m just not interested; you’re just not talented!"

At this thought, Isaac, who was sitting at his desk organizing data, felt the corners of his mouth lift into a slight smile. His pen danced across the parchment, sketching out one plan after another—most of which were related to Magic Potions.

Yes, Magic Potions. But not the Magic Potions of Arcanists, but those of Legendary Mages!

The former had already been proven useless by the Arcanists.

As for the latter, no one knew if they were effective. After all, the tragic history of the Witches was largely caused by Legendary Mages. Furthermore, the methods Legendary Mages used to brew Magic Potions were brimming with evil. These two fatal issues—historical animosity and incompatible "style"—made Witches instinctively reject the Magic Potions of Legendary Mages.

In reality, however, Isaac believed this was the correct path.

The Magic Potions of Legendary Mages might be considered antiques compared to those of Arcanists, but strictly speaking, they were two parallel yet distinct systems of potion-making.

Arcanist Magic Potions were more like the pharmaceuticals from Isaac’s previous life, focusing on the ratio and fusion of ingredients. The Magic Potions of Legendary Mages, on the other hand, focused more on the Concept.

Of course, this was also a major reason why the Magic Potions of Legendary Mages were so unpopular.

"Believe me, you don’t want to know the ingredients!"

—Legendary Alchemist Wizard Sage Luciano Ferguson.

The ingredients Legendary Mages used to brew their Magic Potions were bizarre in the extreme. Thus, most of the time, unless absolutely necessary, even the Legendary Mages themselves wouldn’t drink the stuff.

Isaac included.

He wasn’t some TV survivalist, after all.

But this didn’t negate the superiority of a Legendary Mage’s Magic Potions. In many situations, they could produce unexpected results—such as, for instance, developing a Witch Bloodline.

Isaac’s line of thinking was simple and followed two general paths. The first was to reference the Concept contained within treasures known to develop a Witch Bloodline, then use a Magic Potion to simulate, concoct, and enhance this Concept.

The second path involved combining the ancient Magic Potions of Legendary Mages with the modern ones of Arcanists, a current research trend in top-tier potion-making: using the Concept itself as a raw ingredient for a Magic Potion.

Applying this to Angel’s request, it meant using various treasures capable of developing a Witch Bloodline as the raw materials to concoct and brew the Magic Potion!

This method didn’t require particularly high-level materials; treasures that could develop the bloodline of a High-level Witch would suffice as ingredients. However, this method...

Isaac got a headache just thinking about it. The relevant treasures were all extremely expensive, their prices far exceeding other treasures of the same Level. Normally, Isaac wouldn’t even consider this plan; it was for people with money to burn.

The first plan was so much better, so much more down-to-earth.

’Well, it’s not like *I’m* the one drinking the Magic Potion.’

But since this was what Angel wanted, the method was worth a try. As a Tier Four Witch, it would be much easier for her to collect the materials than it would be for Isaac. Moreover, she was an Origin Witch, a position of extraordinary status in the Witch Country. If it was to increase her own power, the Witch Country might even pull some strings for her.

And as for him, he just might be able to open up a new path to riches!
