Chapter 502: Chapter 362: The Endlessly Surprising Star Mage
And now, Isaac had finally gotten his wish...
A faint light gleamed in Isaac’s eyes. With a finger on his chin, he circled the Star Beast, lost in thought. Before him, a data panel only he could see scrolled with endless strings of data.
’How should I put this?’
’It’s fascinating. Its value for research far outweighs its value in combat!’
’From the perspective of a Star Mage, this thing is actually a living creature!’
’It has emotional expression, self-awareness, a "real" physical body, and even a real soul!’
’It’s completely different from the data gathered in previous Observations and experiments!’
Although Isaac couldn’t immediately figure out the reason for this discrepancy, there was no doubt it had immense research value.
Furthermore, aside from this stark difference, the Star Beast itself...
...was also a subject of great research value.
Because no matter how he looked at it, this creature looked just like a young Star God!
Except for its status.
Star Gods, as the name suggests, are Deities of the cosmos. Their greatest difference from other Deities is their main body; the main body of a Star God is almost always a planet.
From this perspective, they fit the definition of a species more closely.
It’s just that, due to their unique life form, members of this species all live solitary lives.
However, it is worth noting that a planet is not synonymous with a Star God; not all planets become Star Gods.
Furthermore, although a Star God’s main body is a planet, they still possess all the characteristics of a Divine Species.
This was also the greatest difference between the Star Beast before Isaac and a Star God. In terms of life form and abilities, it was identical to a young Star God. It could freely manipulate gravity and attraction, and it could use powerful Force Field Magic as if by instinct.
Its internal structure was also fundamentally identical to that of a planet, only miniaturized countless times over.
But it lacked the status of a Divine Species. It could not absorb the Power of Faith to grow, nor could it produce Divine Arts.
’Its Existence seems to fit the Concept of a species better than that of a young Star God!’
’After all, since these creatures are so small, they can live together in groups!’
If their numbers were large enough, that is.
’This peculiar life form also has tremendous research value!’
For example, Isaac was very curious: if he were to grant it the traits of a Divine Species, would it directly transform into a true young Star God?
Or perhaps, if it were to master a colossal growth ability similar to the Heaven and Earth Transformation, would its Force Field Magic grow stronger as well?
One hypothesis after another surfaced in Isaac’s mind, and his gaze grew increasingly excited. On the illusory panel that only he could see, more and more expandable options appeared.
He circled the Star Beast for a full half-hour, nearly making the little creature dizzy, before he finally slowed to a halt. The excitement in his eyes had already cooled.
He had to calm down. As curious as he was, a very practical problem lay before him—he didn’t have that much time!
Besides, there wasn’t much of this research he could delegate. It wasn’t a matter of secrecy; rather, he was likely the only one who could conduct it. After all, the difficulty of modifying a Divine Species remained incredibly high.
The only process he had optimized so far was the one for creating Divine Fragments. By using a Virtual Deity and a Virtual Divinity, he could directly skip or accelerate the Divine Species stage to produce Divine Fragments.
To date, Isaac was still the only one who could complete the modification procedure for a Divine Species, and only with the help of his Golden Finger.
