Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 309 - 310: The Knowledge Andre Has Not Mastered
Chapter 309: Chapter 310: The Knowledge Andre Has Not Mastered
"Dean, don’t look at me like that."
The way the Dean was staring at him made Andre’s skin crawl.
"You’ve already accomplished so much, and you’re still afraid of people looking at you?"
The Dean looked at Andre, a wave of depression washing over him.
He remembered his time in the Wizard Ancestral Land, where everyone had praised him as a genius. But in front of Andre, what was a genius worth?
"Dean, didn’t I tell you? I still lack a proper understanding of time, space, and the Soul."
"You know as well as I do that these three disciplines have always been the most complex, the most difficult, and the hardest to master."
"By the time I have a preliminary grasp of these three subjects, it will have been at least a few decades, maybe even a century."
Andre said, looking at the Dean.
It would have been better if Andre had said nothing. The moment the words left his mouth, both the Dean and the Captain felt as if Andre had just plunged a sword into their hearts.
"You yourself know that these three disciplines are the most complex, the most difficult, and the hardest to master."
"And you’re saying you can master them in just a few decades, or even a century?"
The Captain couldn’t take it anymore. He glared at Andre and let loose.
"Is that difficult?" Andre asked in return, looking at the Captain.
"Is it *not* difficult?" The Captain stared at Andre, so exasperated he actually laughed.
Back in his day, it had taken him over 600 years just to master the simplest of the three—space.
And now, Andre had the nerve to ask if it wasn’t difficult?
The Captain was so angry he almost came to blows.
"To say something like that, you must be very confident you can master these three disciplines in such a short time."
The Dean held the Captain back and looked at Andre, his lips a little dry as he asked the question.
"I suppose so. Space is the division and extension of matter. As matter continuously divides, space continuously expands."
"This is also why none of the races in the Star Realm know where its edges are."
"And time is the trace left by the division of matter. Different matter divides over different durations."
"Therefore, to standardize time, people chose a few of these material division durations and anchored them as standard units of time!"
Andre explained his understanding of space and time to the Dean and the Captain.
When Andre finished, the Captain and the Dean stared at him, their faces masks of utter disbelief.
"And you say you don’t understand time and space? You’re already about to touch upon the fundamental source of space and time."
After a long moment, the Captain blinked, his voice laced with a thick bitterness as he looked at Andre and spoke.
"Is that considered the source?"
Andre blinked, looking at the Captain with a puzzled expression.
"If that’s not the source, then what is?"
The Dean handed the Banner of Dusk to Andre, his expression pained.
Andre’s understanding of space and time had already reached such a level that, truthfully, very few books in the Main Institute’s collection on these subjects could teach him anything new.
At most, they could help Andre smoothly master the Power of Space and the Power of Time, and by extension, the Witchcraft associated with them.
"Your grasp of the Power of Time and Space is already profound. All that’s left is to fill in some of the minor details."
"Beyond that, you just need to learn some methods for using the Power of Space and the Power of Time, and you’ll be able to command them as easily as your own limbs."
The Dean looked at Andre, his heart filled with a bitter feeling.
’Is the gap between someone blessed by the Wizard Civilization Will and an ordinary person really this vast?’
He had suffered immensely to master the Power of Space and the Power of Time.
First was the Power of Space. His process for mastering it went like this.
He traveled through the Endless Star Realm on a Star Realm Battleship, heading for places with void storms to capture and refine shattered fragments of space.
After obtaining a space fragment, he would find a safe place to hide.
Then, he would let the space fragment slice into his body. Through the pain of the Power of Space cutting him, he used his Magic Power to gradually comprehend its essence.
He would refine the remnants of the space fragment within his body, and only after completely refining it did he finally begin to grasp the Power of Space.
As for mastering the Power of Time, he went even further, sealing himself with Witchcraft and then walking the world, experiencing the decay of his own body to feel the Power of Time slipping away.
As he neared death from old age, he even managed to grasp a sliver of the Power of the World.
But Andre? He hadn’t yet mastered the two Powers, but he had already grasped their essence.
Even if it was only a part of it, it was still the essence!
"So this is the kind of genius who can change the state of the Wizard World!"
At this moment, both the Dean and the Captain had a bitter taste in their mouths.
"But I’ve grasped so little. There’s still so much I haven’t mastered!"
"For example, can a space with no matter still be called space? Can a space with no boundaries still be called space?"
"Under different circumstances, what factors cause the flow of time to vary? How can one influence it, and how can one make it constant and fixed?"
"The principles behind Time Witchcraft accelerating or reversing time... I haven’t mastered any of these things yet."
Andre looked at the Dean and the Captain, eagerly rattling off a list of concepts.
As Andre listed these concepts, the Dean and the Captain felt as if their heads had been struck by a ten-thousand-ton hammer, leaving them dizzy and seeing stars.
"Hiss!" The Dean and the Captain sucked in a sharp breath as they stared at Andre.
Among the things Andre had just mentioned, many were difficult problems that the upper echelons of the Wizard World were currently trying to solve and research.
For instance, can a space with no matter be called space? Can a space with no boundaries be called space?
These two questions were particularly vexing problems for the leaders of the Wizard World.
Generally speaking, space has boundaries and is filled with matter. Even if there is no matter, it is still filled with Magic Power.
But a long time ago, someone had proposed a question: if a region of space truly existed with no matter, no Energy, and no Magic Power, what would that space be called, and would it even be real space?
A thousand years after this question was raised, someone provided an answer from a philosophical level.
But in terms of practical application, an answer was never found.
This was because such a space simply didn’t exist in the real world, or even in the Endless Star Realm. Or rather, if it did exist, it would collapse almost instantly.
To solve this problem, a Truth Great Wizard who walked the path of space once personally took action, preparing to create such a space.
But the moment this Truth Great Wizard made his move, he discovered the experiment had already failed.
Because he had used the Power of Truth, the space created by the Power of Truth naturally contained Magic Power.
