Chapter 301: Chapter 302: Nominal and Real Positions
"All matters in the Cosmic Sea World shall be decided by Andre!"
Soon enough, the order was delivered into Farrete’s hands.
As Farrete stared at the order in his hands, his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
"What kind of bullshit order is this? What... what... what is going on?"
Staring at the order in his hand, Farrete was truly at a loss for words.
"Something like this... How could something like this be left to Andre alone to decide?"
At this point, Farrete couldn’t help but wonder if Andre had left a clone on the War Mother Ship just to intercept orders and use a fake one to fool him.
As soon as the thought occurred to him, Farrete immediately sent another message to the War Mother Ship, asking if the order was authentic.
Soon, a new directive was transmitted back. On it was written a single word: Confirmed!
Still finding it hard to believe, Farrete queried the War Mother Ship several more times. He even used Witchcraft to contact a friend on the mother ship who was responsible for analyzing intelligence from the Cosmic Sea World, asking if the order he’d received was real.
The answer he received from his friend was also an affirmation: it was real.
This made Farrete turn pale with shock.
At the same time, he was extremely curious about what Andre had experienced at the Main Institute to make the Dean trust him so completely.
So much so that he was willing to bet the future of a Level 5 World on Andre’s decisions.
"Since when did the academy get so rich? This is a Level 5 World we’re talking about!"
Sighing in resignation, Farrete looked at the thick stack of papers in his hand, flew out of the Star Realm Battleship, and went to find Andre, handing the orders over to him.
"Everything is to be decided by me."
Reading the words on these orders, Andre was dumbfounded.
"Wait, Senior Brother, have you confirmed this order?"
Andre looked at Farrete and blinked, finding it hard to believe the order was real.
"It’s definitely real. I even made a point to confirm it with the mother ship several times."
"This entire thick stack of paper is filled with the confirmation messages the mother ship sent back after I asked."
Farrete placed all the papers in his hand into Andre’s, letting him see for himself.
After flipping through all the papers, Andre was left staring blankly.
"So this order actually is real!"
"But how am I supposed to handle this?"
Andre stared at the stack of papers in his hands, scratching his head so hard he nearly tore his scalp, but he still couldn’t figure out why the Dean would make such a decision.
"This is a complete joke!"
Andre looked at Farrete and complained helplessly.
"I thought it was a joke, too. By the way, what did you go through at the Main Institute that made the Dean trust you so much he’d hand over a Level 5 World for you to decide its fate?"
Farrete stared at Andre, filled with curiosity.
"I don’t know either!" Andre shook his head at Farrete.
’Could it be related to my breakthrough? But when I broke through, aside from absorbing a lot of Magic Power, nothing else happened.’
Andre tried to recall any details he had noticed during his breakthrough.
But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t recall any trace of the Wizard Civilization Will.
"This just got a lot more complicated!"
Looking at the orders in his hand, Andre truly didn’t know what to do.
His words carried little weight at the academy. Although he had obtained the figurehead position of Honorary Vice-Dean of a branch institute because of his status as a Child of the World, he could still tell the difference between a nominal title and real authority.
But this order was equivalent to placing him directly in the position of a branch institute’s dean, making him a genuine high-ranking commander with regional authority within the academy.
Andre could already imagine how much trouble he would face if this order became known to others.
"What a headache. A real headache."
Andre stared at the stack of orders, continuously scratching his head.
Farrete walked over and grabbed Andre’s hand.
"Tell me, how did you obtain this position as Child of the World?"
Farrete looked at Andre, intensely curious.
"What do you mean, ’how’? The will of this world forced it on me."
Andre looked at Farrete and said helplessly.
"Forced on you? How come I never run into such ’good fortune’?"
"Your senior brother here has been on expeditions to dozens of worlds, big and small, and I’ve never encountered anything like this."
"But you? This is your first expedition, you’ve barely seen a few worlds, and something this good happens to you?"
"I’m not trying to lecture you as your senior brother, but if word of this gets out, people will definitely think you’re lying."
Farrete looked at Andre, trying to persuade him with an earnest and patient expression.
"The world’s will really did force it on me."
"It started when I received an order from my grand-mentor, Klein—the second person in the academy to have just broken through to become a Red Sun Great Wizard. He ordered me to come to this world and decipher its unique hieroglyphs."
"After receiving the order, I set out. I spent two years traveling before I arrived in this world."
"At the base established by the first Expedition Squad, I shattered the artifacts they had collected that bore the script."
"As I was observing the world’s script using my own unique method, I was suddenly taken away by the world’s will, brought directly into the World Origin Space."
"By the time I came out, I had already obtained this position."
Looking at Farrete, Andre directly told him the entire story of how he had obtained the position of Child of the World.
"Your own unique method? What unique method?"
After Andre finished speaking, Farrete seized on the key point of his story.
"Using my own Magic Power to perceive and construct this world’s Demon Patterns."
Andre explained his unique method to Farrete.
"That’s it?" Farrete blinked at Andre, thinking he was being deceived.
"That’s really it!" Andre looked at Farrete and nodded earnestly.
"Then where did the issue arise? Don’t tell me it’s because of your Magic Power," Farrete said after a moment of thought, looking at Andre.
"That’s probably it."
Andre looked at Farrete and didn’t deny it.
"Your Magic Power... Right, I still don’t even know which path you follow."
Looking at Andre, Farrete suddenly realized he didn’t know what kind of path Andre walked.
