Will the Aloof Billionaire Divorce Today?
Chapter 1510: Might as Well Die Sooner
“Speaking of this matter…” Ian Douglas turned his head to look at her, “How exactly was Matthew Saxon rescued? Why wasn’t any information revealed before? How did you find him, and also, George went with you initially, why didn’t he come back with you? Did something happen to him?”
Scarlett Yates’ hand holding the milk cup froze for a moment. She licked the milk off her lips, remained silent for a while, and then said, “He was rescued by fishermen from a small island near that sea area. The news wasn’t revealed because no one on that small island recognized him, and the area is very underdeveloped, with insufficient access to information.”
As for George, Matthew said that he left him in A Country to gather some information and that he would return once the task was completed.
“Even if it’s underdeveloped, he could still make a phone call to say he’s safe, right?” Ian Douglas’s tone was still calm, but anyone could hear his dissatisfaction.
Scarlett Yates had no choice but to continue lying, “He was in a coma for a long time. When I found him, he was still in a comatose state. At that time, the doctors said his condition was quite dangerous. I didn’t have the confidence that he would survive, so I didn’t dare call you, fearing it would be a false hope.”
Even so, Ian Douglas was still dissatisfied. He snorted lightly and said, “Even if it were a false hope, you should have informed me, at least I could have gone to see him.”
Scarlett Yates lowered her head and actively admitted her mistake, “I’m sorry, Grandpa, I mishandled this matter.”
“Fine, discussing it now doesn’t mean anything. If Matthew can come back alive, what more could I want? Now I’m just waiting for him to recover soon, and then you two can hurry and give me a great-grandchild to play with. Life is getting more and more boring.”
“Cough, cough, cough…” Scarlett Yates’ face turned bright red from choking. She patted her chest and coughed for a while, then looked up at Ian Douglas with eyes red from choking, “Grandpa, Matthew and I don’t plan to have children so early.”
Getting married so early had already disrupted her original plans; she didn’t want to have a child right after getting married.
“How is it early? At his age, I already had kids running errands for me. What’s wrong with having kids early? Matthew’s temperament needs a change. Once he becomes a father, he won’t be so rash anymore.”
Scarlett Yates thought to herself: It’s not you who’s having the child, of course, you think it’s no big deal. Having a child isn’t as easy as having piglets. The time and effort spent on a child are significant.
In her original plan, if she were to have a child, it would be after she turned 27 at least.
She just graduated from college. No matter what, she wanted to work on her career for a few more years. Although her so-called career might not be considered impressive in either the Saxon Family or the Douglas Family, she herself liked it very much.
The heart’s desire can’t be bought even in a thousand years.
Scarlett Yates didn’t want Ian Douglas’s question to linger on her, so she quickly changed the subject, “Grandpa, do you know how Uncle Saxon is doing now?”
Back then, Matthew went to A Country to fetch the antidote, but now the antidote wasn’t brought back, and she had no idea about Roy Saxon’s current condition.
“What else could it be?” Mentioning this matter seemed to trouble Ian Douglas as well, his brows furrowed tightly, “He’s still in a coma. He can’t die but living like this is a torment. If he stays this way for a lifetime, it’d be better for him to die sooner.”
