Chapter 1509: Chapter 1509: Still Sleeping

The grievances she suffered were not something that could be offset by a few apologies, were they?

Comparing to apologies, he hoped more that he could compensate her properly in the future, and his compensation could only be treating her doubly well.

When he thought about her rejecting his advances out of concern for his health, and yet he even doubted whether she had a change of heart because of this, Matthew Saxon felt even more guilty.

He thought that the next day, he should seriously apologize to her.

And regarding her first time, he also needed to plan it well.

She was right, for girls, it’s something they cherish and see as very important, and he couldn’t handle it casually.

She was the woman he cherished deep in his heart; her most special moment should be equally valued by him, leaving her with a profound and beautiful impression.

Girls all like romance.

Perhaps before this, he should prepare a candlelit dinner, then decorate the room with some flowers, adjust the lighting, and maybe play some soft and beautiful music?

As he thought about this, Matthew Saxon’s eyelids gradually became heavy.

Although he had already taken a nap in the afternoon, as soon as he hit the bed and closed his eyes, he felt sleepy in less than ten minutes.

His body seemed truly exhausted.

He thought, he really needed a good night’s sleep.

--

When Scarlett Yates woke up, she was surprised to find that Matthew Saxon was still asleep.

He seemed to be in a deep sleep; she lifted the covers and got out of bed, then went to the bathroom to wash up, and he was still asleep with his eyes closed.

He was probably too tired.

Scarlett Yates was afraid of waking him up, so she moved very quietly, even going to the bedside to pull up the covers for him twice.

She only turned on a lamp with soft lighting to ensure he wouldn’t be awakened by strong light.

In the light, Matthew Saxon’s face was a bit pale.

With a hint of worry in her eyes, Scarlett Yates sat by the bedside, looked at him for a while, and gently touched his forehead with her hand.

His body temperature was normal, with no signs of fever.

A whole day and night had passed, and he still looked a bit haggard. Yesterday really must have taken a toll on him, probably needing seven or eight days to recover.

Downstairs, Ian Douglas was sitting in the dining room. Seeing only Scarlett Yates come down, he paused, put down his newspaper, and frowned, asking, "Why didn’t Matthew come down?"

Before Scarlett Yates walked over, someone had already pulled out a chair for her.

After Scarlett Yates sat down, she replied to Ian Douglas, "He’s still sleeping."

"Sleeping?" Ian Douglas frowned again, "At this time, and he’s still lazing in bed? He needs to go to the company today, Olly, go wake your Young Master."

"Wait a minute."

Scarlett Yates stopped Olly: "Grandfather, it seems like Matthew caught a cold, probably can’t make it to the company today."

"Caught a cold?" Ian Douglas remembered that Matthew Saxon’s complexion seemed not too good yesterday, and he didn’t doubt her words, but with a bit of concern, he furrowed his brows, "His health wasn’t so bad before, has his resistance gotten so weak now? Could it be because of the severe injury from the crash last time depleting his body?"

"Maybe." Scarlett Yates took a sip of her milk, pursed her lips, and said slowly, "Being able to keep his life in that circumstance was already quite fortunate, to fully recover to the previous state, it will probably take at least half a year or more."
