Chapter 1171: I Warned You Enough
Chapter 1171: I Warned You Enough
I looked at the ranks of guards that were pointing their weapons at me, then back at the two girls who were looking at me in fear.
Guess they were already thinking that they were doomed.
I turned back to look at the person who was called Captain, “Are you going to allow me to tell my side of the story or what?”
He crossed his arms, “Should I trust my men or should I trust a criminal that has already been sentenced?”
“What if I told you that your men were lying?”
“The question of whether I should trust my men or a criminal still remains, no?”
“Don’t you have anything here that can determine if the other party is telling the truth or not?”
“Even if we did, why should we bother using it on a nobody like you?”
“Because it will prove that I am telling the truth?”
“Once again, I don’t see any reason why we should even care about you?”
“Then I will say that it’s to prevent me from needing to kill everyone here just to get out.”
He smirked, “Ah, I see you’ve finally revealed your true colours. Do you really think you can even beat us?”
I looked pointedly at the men whom I had knocked out before turning back to him and shrugging, “I dunno. It seems like even with numbers on your side, you couldn’t subdue me as well. What makes you think that bringing a couple more weaklings to fight me in such a confined space is going to change anything?”
His face turned sour as he scowled at me, “Don’t give yourself too much credit. You only managed to last that long because they were trying their best not to hurt you. No one here has a fetish for raping you while you’re bleeding out.”
I furrowed my brows, “So you’re also in on it… Guess I should have expected this. Is your entire group just filled with corrupt assholes? Is it because none of you can get laid normally so you need to resort to this?”
“Shut up! Last chance you bitch! Surrender or we won’t mind maiming you to subdue you!”
Guess we’ll really need to do this then…
I reached out my hands and materialised both my Light Sword and my Shadow Sword in my hands, though to them, they can only see my Light Sword appearing instead.
All of them stared at me in surprise before the Captain guy turned to his men to shout, “Didn’t any of you check if she still had any weapons on her?!”
“We… We did, Captain…” One of the men sputtered.
“Then how in the Gods’ names did she manage to sneak in that?!”
“We… We don’t know, Captain…”
He turned back to me and growled, “Don’t think this changes anything you bitch! Deactivate, anti-magic curse!”
Hmmm? He’s deactivating that curse himself? Why did he even do that?
He pointed at me, “You might be a competent fighter, but all my men are also competent spellcasters! With both magic and might, do you still think you stand a chance?!”
I pointed my Light Sword at the side and poured in my mana into the blade.
The enchantment activated immediately and a long blade made out of light materialised over my sword’s blade, long enough to cut into the wall on the other side.
I tilted my head at him, “Make any hostile movements and I’m going to swing this blade of light in your direction. Just a warning, this can cut through anything right now.”
They stared at the end of the blade that was embedded in the wall, the light literally melting through the cell’s wall like it wasn’t even there. It had already burned a sizable hole just from me moving my wrist slightly so they knew I wasn’t bluffing.
The Captain’s tone immediately changed, “Ok, ok… Let’s all… Let’s all calm down now, ok? There seems to have been a misunderstanding here… It’s just a misunderstanding.”
I tilted my head at him, “A misunderstanding? So your men trying to rape us after falsely convicting me of crimes I did not commit was also a misunderstanding?”
“Yes! Yes! It’s all just a big misunderstanding you see! I’m sure they must have mixed things up because there’s no way they would do this to a law abiding visitor!”
“So you’re admitting that they will try and rape someone that is guilty then?”
“Well… That is different you see… That… Activate, chain!!”
I was already expecting him to try something so I was also prepared for it when he shouted that activation phrase that would trap me.
I poured mana into my Shadow Sword and swung it behind me, the dark flames creating a wall of fire behind me that burned the chains that tried to wrap themselves around me.
The chains that would have wrapped around me to pull me towards the wall ended up being burned away before they could fulfil their purpose.
While that happened, my gaze never left the group of men in front of me as they gaped at what just happened.
I wasn’t even sure which part they were surprised about, whether it was the fact that my Shadow Sword seemingly appeared out of nowhere, the fact that I managed to counter that enchantment, or both.
“Anything else you want to try?” I asked.
None of them dared to respond to me.
At least, they stayed silent for only a few seconds before that leader who tried to rape me earlier pointed a finger at me.
“You… You can’t kill us! If… If you do… You’ll really become a criminal! And they will know who did it because you’re already registered as a criminal we captured! If we’re dead, they have records of your mana signature and you’ll be hunted everywhere you go within this forest!”
I tilted my head at him, “Does that mean if I never intend to come back here ever again… I can just go ahead and kill all of you with no repercussions?”
He faltered and started to stammer out an excuse.
Well, I obviously don’t want to kill them if I could help it so that was a bluff anyway.
I nodded at them, “I want all of you to drop your weapons if you don’t want to die right now.”
They looked at each other and I was pretty sure at this point they should obey but unexpectedly, none of them complied.
I narrowed my eyes, “Do you think I don’t dare to kill all of you or something?”
The Captain smirked, “I figured it out. You actually can’t kill us can you? Hahahaha! Hurry up and subdue her!!”
Tsk… Fine then… I gave them more warnings than they deserve already.
I used [Shadow Glide] on myself before throwing a [Madness Infusion] on one of the guys at the front.
But despite my spell being cast, it doesn’t seem like there was an effect on him so I cancelled the spell, figuring that they must have some enchantment that protected them from being affected mentally.
With my [Shadow Glide] spell still in effect, I lowered the amount of mana I was feeding my Light Sword to shorten the light blade. At the same time, I cut off the mana I was giving my Shadow Sword to render it invisible again.
As they continued to charge towards me, I went ahead to cast a quick [Shadow Wrap] that snuffed out all the other light sources that illuminated the already dim cell, completely enveloping the cell in darkness.
The only light in the room came from my sword which they were using to home in on my location.
Unfortunately for them, I was the bait as my Shadow Guards used the cover of darkness to leap towards them with their own weapons as well.
Timing their attacks, I waited for a second before I dashed past them to reappear behind the entire group, holding my position for a moment while my Shadow Guards melted back into the shadows.
Screams then came from the group and I released my [Shadow Wrap] spell, allowing light to illuminate the room again to reveal what had happened to the entire group.
All of them either had their hands or their legs sliced off and were currently rolling around on the ground screaming in pain.
Even the Captain had not been spared as I had personally sliced off both his arms and his legs while also stuffing a part of his shirt that I had torn off inside his mouth to make sure he can’t cast any spells or activate any more enchantments.
Well… Not like he could do anything else anyway because the guy was screaming his lungs out in pain when his brain finally registered that he had been cut.
The two girls that were on the other side of the cell were staring at the sight in horror before they slowly looked up at me with a mixture of fear and awe.
I mean… What else do you want me to do? Just be glad I didn’t kill any of them, ok?
