Chapter 481 266: They Say You Summoned the Dragon Tide

  • Next Chapter

"First the Dragon Eater Association and the Blood Race, then the Dragon Knights, and now the Dragon Witch. What in the world are they all doing here? Is it all just for the Red Dragon Reverse Scale?"

The buzzing of panicked whispers rose from the crowd again. In times of crisis like this, whether they were the Old Blood, the Old Race, or the Bloodless, all would fall into the same panic that grips ordinary people who fear death. For the most part, this panic only served to quicken their breathing, accelerate their heartbeats, and ironically, sharpen their minds.

The sharper their minds, the more opinions they formed. And all these varied opinions, when mixed together, became the cacophony of an impending disaster.

That's why the silent and the taciturn are the elite.

At least they could remain calm.

Isabella brandished her Dragon Spear and declared, "If you don't want to die, get your asses back inside the auction hall. If you're not afraid to die, then grab your weapons and stand up."

"There are so many Dragon Descendants! We can't possibly win without reinforcements!" a guest shouted.

Isabella shot the guest a look of disgust, as if he were an ant, and said coldly, "I hate people like you who voice their cowardice out loud."

"You..." The guest grew angry. He felt he had offered a well-intentioned warning, only to be shot down so harshly by the eldest daughter.

He wanted to retort, but when his eyes fell on the crimson spear in her hand, his Adam's apple bobbed, and he ultimately couldn't force any words out.

But his words had their intended effect, and a wave of pessimism began to spread through the guests.

Seeing the crowd begin to stir, Wizard K stepped forward and said, "Listen to me! Don't worry about reinforcements. There's an Alchemy Matrix at Traitor's Cliff used by the London Tower for teleportation. We'll send Law Enforcers there shortly to call for backup. So don't worry. Just do as Miss Eldest says and get back inside the auction hall."

Wilder added, "I swear on my honor as a Templar Knight that I will ensure your safety."

The guests looked at each other, and in the end, had no choice but to file back into the auction hall in an orderly fashion, just as the Law Enforcers had instructed.

Isabella snorted coldly. "A bunch of useless gluttons."

.........

"Hey, they're saying you're the one who summoned the Dragon Tide."

In the crowd, Baron looked over at KK. She sighed. "That's to be expected. I've been the scapegoat for the Dragon Eater Association for years. Just like they don't trust you, they don't trust me either."

Baron frowned, then his gaze shifted to Elder Pence at the very front. The Elder was leaning on his cane, silently watching the Dragon Tide, his wrinkled old face impassive.

Baron now understood why the man had done nothing despite seeing through his identity. This was an open conspiracy!

Baron was left with only two choices. He could blend into the crowd and keep his identity hidden, but doing so would mean the crime of attacking the Lion Eye Knight Order would be pinned on him for good.

But if he revealed his identity, he would undoubtedly make more enemies for himself, while also helping the Dragon Eater Association by drawing some of the fire, allowing them to better steal the "crystal"—the Mad Dragon of Traitor's Cliff.

KK noticed his unease and said, "You're that desperate to be free again?"

Baron said in a low voice, "I'm just really pissed off."

"The thought of me hiding all over the Inner and Outer Sides, while the person who framed me is still living happily somewhere in the world... it just really pisses me off," he said grimly.

KK said, "You seem to know something. What are those guys from the Dragon Eater Association really after here at Traitor's Cliff? And why are *you* here?"

Seeing Baron look at her, KK stuck out her tongue. "Alright, alright, I won't ask. It's not like you'd tell me the truth even if you did say something."

She continued, "But I'd still advise you not to reveal your identity. Silver Lion Wilder is trickier than you think. As someone contracted to a Silver Lion, he's a top-tier fighter even among the Silver Tier."

'I didn't need you to tell me that. I learned my lesson when he casually unleashed that Sword Qi that stretched for over ten kilometers,' Baron complained internally.

"The only reason you were able to get me out of that engagement banquet was because I used a Silver Magic Card to briefly confuse his senses. Otherwise, he would have caught you long ago."

KK said, "Aren't you going to thank me?"

Baron replied, "But if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have suddenly gone from being a bank salesman to a criminal."

KK blinked. "If I knew who signed the contract with me back then, I'd definitely tell you. Too bad I don't."

Just then, a huge uproar erupted from the crowd. Everyone looked in the same direction.

The two followed their gaze and saw Silver Lion Wilder suddenly raise his right arm horizontally and snap his fingers. A silvery Alchemy Matrix materialized at his fingertips, expanding vertically until it was nearly as tall as the auction hall's main doors.

Then, a low growl like an engine rumbled from behind the Array. It was the roar of some kind of ferocious beast, and some of the Old Race grew dizzy just from hearing it.

Hearing this roar, some of the Law Enforcers' faces paled.

"Could it be..." Saint Elvin watched the silvery-white Array, his eyes narrowing slightly. "The Authority exclusive to a Silver Contract Knight."

"The 'Promise of Summoning,' the Authority of a Silver Contract Knight, allows them to directly summon their contracted Magical Beast." Battle Nun Camilla licked her lips. "The Silver Lion Race is incredibly rare, and rumor has it that Wilder's contract is with the king of the Silver Lions."

The growling grew louder and louder, as if something was approaching the silvery-white Alchemy Array.

A massive Silver Lion leaped out of the Alchemy Array. It was nearly as tall as the auction hall's main doors, with silver claws and amber eyes. Its mane was clearly defined, its muscles powerful, and its fur so bright it seemed coated in silver dust, appearing a brilliant white in the darkness. Its tail was also silver, scattering sparks of lightning as it swished.
