Chapter 482 266: They Say You Summoned the Dragon Tide (Part 2)

  • Next Chapter

This was the true form of the Silver Lion Wilder had contracted.

"Silver Lion King Leos."

The Dragon Demon Hunter, Andy, looked up from his wheelchair at the Silver Lion, which towered like a skyscraper, and murmured in awe, "A peak mythical creature, equivalent to the Silver Tier. It's even said to carry the Star Dust of the Knight Law."

"Silver Lion King, I am your Contract Knight, Wilder Princeton. I require your aid to help me through this crisis."

Wilder knelt on one knee, his voice respectful.

The Silver Lion King's voice boomed like one mountain peak crashing into another. "Rise, my Knight."

The Silver Lion King's amber eyes swept over the crowd before finally landing on Baron.

Baron's heart clenched. 'Have I been found out? I wonder if Dragon Mighty even works on the Silver Lion King.'

But the Silver Lion King's gaze only lingered on him for a moment before shifting to the distant mountains. It let out a surprisingly human "Oh." "You want me to stop this Dragon Tide?"

"No," Wilder said, having risen to his feet. He glanced at Sad, who had kept his head down and breath held since the moment the Silver Lion King appeared. "I need you to help these Knights get to the ruins of the Dragon Family estate and deal with the Dragon Knight."

"Baron Constantin, is it? I know of him. The lucky brat who contracted a Pure-blood Ancient Dragon."

The Silver Lion King licked its paw like a housecat. "But before that, there's something else I must do."

It suddenly unleashed a thunderous Lion's Roar. The sound spread out from the Silver Lion King, a visible shockwave that rampaged through the area and rolled into the darkness.

Everyone instinctively covered their ears, only to realize in surprise that they were completely unaffected.

The shockwave didn't so much as shake a single leaf from the surrounding birch and plane trees. It wasn't until a Demon Hunter leaped to a higher vantage point that he saw it: under the moonlight, the rolling wave of sound crashed into the Dragon Tide, unleashing a cataclysm of sand, stone, and tumbling timber that forced the stampede to a halt.

The Law Enforcers who witnessed this gasped, all thinking the same thing. 'So this is the power of the Silver Lion King.'

The guests were jubilant, but no one dared make a sound. The oppressive presence of the Silver Lion King was too immense; they had been attacking the very being who was the monarch of the entire Silver Lion Race.

With that done, the Silver Lion King's tail, which crackled with flecks of lightning, drew a circle in the air.

A silvery-white array, like the one Wilder had used for his Summoning, materialized within the circle. A moment later, a battered figure tumbled out of it.

The figure was scorched black, covered in brownish lumps that a sharp-eyed Law Enforcer recognized as the remains of coagulated blood that had then been burned away.

The man struggled on the ground, gasping for breath. He refused any offers of help, staggering to his feet by using his sword as a crutch. This revealed the Lion Eye Knight Order emblem on his chest, as well as his youthful face.

"Aile!" his companions and Freya cried out in shock.

The Contract Knight summoned by the Silver Lion King was none other than Aile Lancelot!

The Silver Lion King spoke. "My Contract Knight, you appear to be badly injured. Can you tell me what happened?"

Aile gave the Silver Lion King a Knight's salute, then turned to the Law Enforcers and said, enunciating each word, "Traitor's Cliff has been attacked by the Dragon Eater Association. The Mad Dragon Seal is broken. The Mad Dragon..."

He looked up at the enormous, bright moon in the sky. "...is about to be released!"

The moment the words left his lips, everyone was stunned. Then, the Silver Lion King unleashed a Lion's Roar that sounded like a crashing tsunami.

Unlike the previous one, this roar wasn't just directed at the Dragon Tide. Every member of the Old Race, and even the Law Enforcers, felt their minds reel from the sound. Only a handful of people remained unaffected.

They looked in the direction the Silver Lion King was lunging.

An enormous, magnificent Red Dragon had appeared right in the middle of the guests!

Its own draconic roar met the Lion's Roar. Dragon Claws clashed with lion claws, tail against tail, as its Golden Eyes stared down the amber ones!

Wilder drew his sword, his expression grave. "The Dragon Witch..."

He had barely uttered the words "Dragon Witch" when a purple phantom shot from the corner of his eye, lunging at the Red Dragon.

It was Isabella.

Saint Elvin spoke up. "If this is the Dragon Witch, then who was that woman on the dragon's back earlier?"

Nun Camilla hefted her massive cleaver. "The woman on the dragon's back is gone. That must have been an illusion she created. She's here for the Red Dragon Reverse Scale and the Mad Dragon!"

Andy, the Dragon Demon Hunter, sounded bewildered. "Carmen... That Witch, why is she..."

Meanwhile, Elder Pence was rapidly giving orders, mobilizing the knights of the Griffin Knight Order.

The Law Enforcers moved to surround the Red Dragon as it battled the Silver Lion King, but it gave them no opportunity to close in. The instant Isabella lunged with her Red Spear, the dragon shot straight up, ascending hundreds of feet in a heartbeat.

Like a lion hunting on the plains of Africa, the Silver Lion King dug its claws into the dragon's scales and held on tight, being carried along for the ride. Within a few breaths, they were several thousand feet in the air, but still, it refused to let go.

All the Red Dragon could do was let out a series of roars, beating its wings furiously as it struggled to break free from the Silver Lion King's assault.

The two were locked in a stalemate high in the air. Seizing the opportunity, Wilder raised his longsword and unleashed another beam of Sword Qi, miles long, at the Red Dragon.

But the Sword Qi missed. The Witch's form suddenly shrank, and before the Silver Lion King could react, the beam of energy shot harmlessly between them. As it began to fall, the lion king could only watch as the Witch, now a smaller red dragon, flew off toward the other side of the mountains.

As the Silver Lion King fell, a mere few hundred feet from the ground, it let out a roar that summoned a bolt of lightning beneath its paws. It then gracefully walked down the crackling energy, as nimble as a cat strolling along a railing.

By the time it reached the ground, the Law Enforcers had already formed into teams:

Isabella would take a group to Traitor's Cliff to check on the Mad Dragon's seal, with the Silver Lion King and Sad providing backup. Two Black Iron Mages, guided by Wizard K, would use the Summoning Array at the London Tower to call for reinforcements.

Some Law Enforcers would head to the ruins of the Dragon Family estate to support the Lion Eye Knight Order against Dragon Knight Constantine.

The rest of the Law Enforcers, led by Silver Lion Wilder, would hold back the Dragon Tide.

As for the VIPs in the auction hall, their safety was entrusted to a number of Griffin and Lion-eyed Knights. A small contingent of the Griffin Knight Order, led by Jill, was also outside hunting the Blood Race and Adam; having seen the flash of Wilder's sword, they were expected to return shortly.

The Law Enforcers escorted the guests back into the auction hall and closed the main doors. Wizard K used a Magic Card to place a powerful seal on the building, and the Law Enforcers outside departed for their assigned tasks.

Inside the now-sealed auction hall, surrounded by a panicked crowd, Baron Constantin was lost in thought. 'Something about the way this is all unfolding seems wrong...'

'No, not just wrong. It's gone completely off the rails.'

The moment she heard the Mad Dragon Seal might be weakening, the previously cheerful KK had suddenly transformed into the same Red Dragon he first met in Birmingham and taken flight.

Baron hadn't understood why the Witch reacted so strongly then, just as he couldn't understand why this group of people was now relentlessly closing in on him.

The attendants dispatched by Hamilton had, without him noticing, formed a circle around him. Their employer, Hamilton, watched from a distance, grinding his teeth in fury.

Baron couldn't help but think, 'Is this guy out of his mind? Nothing even happened between me and his wife, yet he's targeting me like this. Meanwhile, those Dragon Devourer Cultists were suspected of having an orgy with her, and not only does he not say a word, he chooses to forgive her?'

The burly attendant from before looked down his nose at Baron. "There's no one left to protect you now."

Basically all the Law Enforcers from the auction hall had gone to reinforce either Traitor's Cliff or the Dracul Mountain Range. Freya had followed Elder Pence to the front lines at the Dracul Mountain Range to fight the Dragon Tide, and Isabella was at Traitor's Cliff. Baron's only two lifelines in the auction hall were gone.
