Chapter 832: Chapter 831: Backing Up the Granddaughter-in-law (17)

Bella Acker bit her lip and looked up at him, waiting for him to wipe away her tears before asking, "Did you learn that line from a book too?"

"Which line?" Damian Sinclair looked at her tear-streaked face, feeling heartache, and didn’t react immediately to what she asked.

"The line ’making you sad is my fault,’ did you learn it from a book?"

"Yes." Damian understood, a hint of a smile in his eyes. "I thought that line made a lot of sense, and I noticed you seemed quite happy when you heard it."

Hearing him say this, Bella Acker couldn’t help herself and finally burst into laughter, "President Sinclair, you really have a talent for putting what you learn into practice. You must have been a straight-A student who excelled at applying knowledge flexibly, right?"

"No." Damian replied, "When it comes to studying, I think you would do much better than me."

"That’s natural, because I’m both smart and diligent." Bella Acker praised herself and then laughed first.

Damian bowed his head to look at her, and when Bella Acker met his gaze, the smile hung on her lips but couldn’t continue, and her ears began to burn.

"Let me kiss you." Damian whispered.

Bella Acker turned her gaze away with a flushed face, and said softly, "You always try to weasel out of things now, promising to kiss just once, but it’s never just once. Last time was like that; I won’t be fooled again."

"Then let me kiss you a few more times." Damian chuckled, lifting her delicate chin with his hand, and kissed her.

Bella Acker looked at his handsome face with closed eyes, blushing, slowly closed her own eyes, and raised her hands to wrap around his neck.

Damian started in surprise, opening his eyes to see her shy, blushing face and still slightly wet eyes from her earlier tears, and in an instant, his heart softened completely.

He held her tightly in his arms, kissing her with utmost gentleness, his tongue lightly parting her lips and teeth, soothing her earlier fear with familiar breaths.

"Mmm..."

In terms of kissing, Bella Acker could never be a match for Damian. In just a few moments, her legs weakened under his teasing, and she could only let out a soft hum, unconsciously tightening her grip on his shoulders for support.

Damian reached out and swiftly pulled the curtains on the balcony, leaving only a small corner of the window open.

A few fluttering snowflakes drifted in with the night wind through that tiny opening, landing on the carpeted floor.

The balcony had a small tea table and two stools, with a small two-tiered bookshelf beside it, suggesting that the elder might sit there to drink tea and read when he had the time.

Damian kissed Bella Acker while his arms suddenly lifted her horizontally, placing her on top of the two-tiered bookshelf.

Though the bookshelf looked small, it was made of solid wood, with strong load-bearing capacity, and Bella Acker didn’t wobble a bit when she sat on it.

Damian continued kissing Bella Acker without letting go, his hand slipping inside her shirt from the hem to touch her slender waist.

His clothes were wet from the rain, and although now in a warmly heated room, his hands were not particularly warm.

The sudden chill made Bella Acker tremble, finally coming to her senses a bit.

"No... no way." Bella Acker blushed as she reached out to hold his hand.

This was the elder’s house, and they were on the balcony, with only the curtains drawn, no door. What if a servant saw them?

No, no, that’s not the main point.

Even though she knew the truth about why he couldn’t see her five years ago, it didn’t mean she was willing to reconcile with him, so how could she just...
