Chapter 810: Chapter 809: Sorry, I Shouldn’t Have Lied to You (3)
The old man was silent for a moment and said, "There’s nothing inconvenient about it, Young Acker. You can drive to Commonwealth Avenue Meridian Park; I live here."
Commonwealth Avenue Meridian Park, that area is a high-end villa community, right?
Bella replied after a moment, "Okay, I’ll drive over. Have you had dinner, old man? If not, what would you like to eat? I’ll bring it over."
"Dinner is prepared at home, Young Acker, just come straight over."
"Okay."
After hanging up the phone, Bella stood for a while before grabbing her bag and heading out.
Sharon saw her coming downstairs, eyes full of concern, "Bella, are you okay?"
"I’m sorry, godmother, for worrying you. I’m fine now." Bella smiled, "By the way, godmother, the old man’s health is not too good. I’m going to check on him and will be back later. May I borrow your car?"
Sharon handed her the car key, "Are you really okay?"
"Yes, I’m really fine now, don’t worry. I’ll head out now." Bella called upstairs, "Ethan, I have to go out, finish your homework and go to bed early."
"Okay." Ethan came out of his room and responded from the second-floor stairway.
Bella smiled at him and then took the car keys and left.
She drove directly to Commonwealth Avenue Meridian Park, recalling that the old man wasn’t familiar with the Serenity Road Condos home, which suggested it might not be his real home.
But when the old man had asked her to drop him home, they were still unfamiliar acquaintances, why deliberately hide it? Even after that, he made excuses to visit, but what was the real reason?
Bella felt puzzled. After driving into Meridian Park, the security guard at the villa community stopped her, and she suddenly realized she didn’t even know the old man’s last name. She had no choice but to call him.
The call went through, Bella said, "Old man, I can’t get into the community."
"Young Acker, wait, I’ll send someone to pick you up."
"Okay."
Not long after hanging up the phone, an elderly gentleman dressed quite elegantly, appearing to be in his sixties or seventies, came out and politely asked Bella who was standing by her car, "Are you Ms. Acker?"
"I am. And you are?"
The elderly gentleman smiled kindly, "The master sent me to pick up Ms. Acker."
Bella understood that he was a servant of the old man’s house, quickly nodding, "Thank you."
"No need to thank me, Ms. Acker. Please drive inside."
The security guard at the gate seemed to recognize the elderly gentleman and quickly opened the barrier. Bella invited the elderly gentleman into the car, and then drove inside.
The villa community was expansive, but the old man’s villa was closer to the entrance. Upon arrival at the gate, a bodyguard had already opened the villa door, guiding Bella to park in the garage.
After Bella parked the car and got out, seeing scattered bodyguards and attending servants in the villa, she realized the old man’s status was not simple.
"Young Acker, you’re here." A servant pushed the old man, who was seated in a wheelchair, out.
"Old man, did you get hurt?" Bella quickened her pace as she saw the bandage on the old man’s leg.
"Yes, I got aggravated by my unfilial grandson, wasn’t careful and fell," the old man said, "Young Acker, it’s cold outside, let’s go inside to talk."
The three-story villa, connected with three buildings, showed obvious signs of wealth and influence.
