Chapter 809: Chapter 808: Sorry for Lying to You (2)
After having loved so deeply and been hurt so terribly once, she was no longer as brave as she used to be.
Moreover, she now had Talia.
If the Sinclair Family knew Talia was Damian Sinclair’s child, they would certainly find a way to take her away.
The Sinclair Family had power and influence. What could she use to fight them, only threaten with her life?
But would that really bring her child back?
She was not sure, so the secret hidden in her heart was something she dared not speak of, and she dared not get close to Damian Sinclair again.
Bella Acker buried her face in the blanket and could no longer hold back her tears.
Why?
Why, after five years, could she not be left alone!
If only Damian hadn’t come to stir things up again, she might have slowly forgotten him!
If five years was not enough, she would take ten years, if not ten, then twenty. There would always be a day she could forget.
But why did he have to stir things up again, why did he insist on breaking through the walls she had built up and peel open her heart, still bleeding and unhealed.
Did he really want to see her in such a humiliating state?
Bella Acker cried in anguish, and the more she cried, the more wronged she felt. It seemed all the emotions repressed in her heart for the past five years had finally collapsed and exploded at this moment.
"Buzz Buzz! Buzz Buzz!"
The phone in her pocket vibrated frantically. Bella Acker wiped away her tears and took out her phone with difficulty. The caller ID showed it was the old man.
She took a deep breath before answering, "Old man, what’s up?" Only after speaking did she realize her voice carried a hint of sobbing and nasal tone.
"Young Acker, what’s wrong? Do you have a cold?" The old man knew she must have been crying, but at the moment, he had to pretend not to know.
"Hmm, seems like it." Bella Acker went along with his words, "Old man, what’s up? Are you bored being alone?"
"I’m in the hospital."
Bella Acker immediately sat up from the bed, "What? Old man, are you sick? Or did you fall?"
"Young Acker, don’t worry, I’m fine. It’s just that I’m getting old, inevitably there are some discomforts here and there. It’s all old ailments, nothing serious."
Having been in contact with the old man for some time, Bella Acker knew that when he complained loudly, it was probably nothing. It was this kind of understated tone that seemed like something was really wrong.
Bella Acker wiped her tears and said, "Old man, where is your grandson? Is he staying with you?"
"No, that unfilial rascal, I have already severed ties with him." The old man spoke with a hint of unresolved anger, coughing a few times in agitation.
"Old man, don’t be anxious. If your grandson isn’t there, who’s taking care of you at the hospital?" Bella Acker stood up, put the phone on speaker, and went to the bathroom to wash her face while talking.
"I hired a caregiver. Young Acker, if you’re sick, you need to see a doctor promptly, don’t neglect a minor ailment and regret it when it turns serious." The old man advised over the phone, starting to cough again.
"Old man, I’m fine, don’t worry about me." Bella Acker looked at the time displayed on her phone, it was just after six, not yet seven, "Old man, which hospital are you in? I’ll come see you now."
"Ah? You’re coming to see me, Young Acker?"
"What’s wrong?" Bella Acker was puzzled. Why did the old man’s tone sound as if he wasn’t too keen on her coming over?
"Young Acker, I’ve already returned home. Do you really want to come see me?" The old man paused before asking.
"I can’t be at ease with you alone. Old man, is there something inconvenient?"
