Chapter 811: Chapter 810: Sorry for Lying to You (4)
Bella Acker recalled the day she met the old man at Kingston Group.
The old man said he lost the company just to see his grandson.
With a grandson working at Kingston Group, and having power and influence himself, this thought suddenly popped into her mind.
Bella Acker clenched the bag in her hand and followed the old man into the living room.
Immediately, a servant brought tea and some fruit snacks. The old man waved the servants away, and then said, "Young Acker, I’m sorry for keeping my identity a secret from you."
Bella Acker shook her head, "For someone you don’t know well, like a person with your status, it’s normal to hide something. Is the house on Serenity Road for the family’s servant?"
"Yes, it’s for the driver’s family." As he had already decided to reveal his identity, the old man had nothing to hide and spoke truthfully.
"Old man, I have a question," Bella Acker said, "Did you already know who I was when you first saw me?"
"Yes, I watched the dramas and movies you acted in," the old man replied, "I actually went to Kingston that day to see you."
"What if we hadn’t met in the elevator?"
"I knew when you entered Kingston. It was impossible not to meet you." The old man quickly explained, "But the elevator incident was truly an accident."
Seeing him so eager to explain, Bella Acker couldn’t help but find it amusing, "I know."
If the old man had orchestrated the elevator incident just to see her and get closer to her, then she must have placed too much importance on herself.
"Young Acker, aren’t you mad?" The old man asked cautiously, "I thought you would be very angry because of my secrecy."
"You didn’t lie to me about anything, so why should I be angry?" Bella Acker said, "Does President Sinclair know you hid your identity to approach me?"
"He doesn’t. That foolish grandson, what else does he know besides making useless money all day?" The old man snorted coldly, "I’ve already cut ties with him."
The old man was indeed Damian Sinclair’s grandfather.
Bella Acker had already suspected this, and confirming it now left her with a mixed feeling of amusement and bewilderment.
She probably understood why the old man deliberately concealed his identity to get close to her.
Just that an old man in his seventies or eighties pretended to be poor and pitiful just to bring her and Damian Sinclair together was beyond words.
The old man, observing Bella Acker’s expression, said, "Young Acker, don’t worry. I’ve heard about what happened in the past. I’ll make sure to set things right for you. If that brat doesn’t earn your forgiveness, he won’t be my grandson anymore!"
So the old man cut ties with Damian Sinclair and expelled him from The Sinclair Family just to support her in getting justice?
"Old man, President Sinclair and I are just friends now, there’s no need to kick him out of the house because of this," Bella Acker said somewhat helplessly.
"There certainly is a need," the old man replied, "Whenever he earns your forgiveness, I’ll let him come back. A man who can’t even protect his own woman has no face left!"
"No, old man, that’s not the issue," Bella Acker said very helplessly, explaining, "President Sinclair and I have nothing to do with each other anymore. Isn’t it unfair to throw him out because of me?"
