Chapter 779: Chapter 778: Threat (Part 2)
Seeing them terrified, the four men smashing the car laughed arrogantly and smashed even harder.
The driver who had gotten out of the car was completely scared off, hiding far away and not daring to come forward to help.
Vehicles passing by saw the situation here and chose to drive into the opposite lane, speeding away.
This kind of thing happened in broad daylight, yet no one came to help.
Bella protected Judy Zimmerman’s head, feeling extremely tense and scared, but her gaze did not waver.
"You can already hear the police sirens, you’d better leave quickly!" Bella said with relative composure.
One of the men smashing the car signaled the others to pause briefly. After listening carefully, they did hear the sirens.
"This time you’re lucky. Next time you won’t be so fortunate. Let’s go!"
The man smashing the car said this and then turned back to glare viciously at Bella, signaling the other three to leave together.
The four of them drove away in a different direction.
Bella watched them leave and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Judy, are you hurt?" Bella released Judy, asking.
Judy straightened up, with some scratches on her neck and cheeks from the glass, bleeding, but not too serious.
"Bella, how are you?"
Bella had a bloodstain on the left side of her neck from glass shards, and when she reached over to protect Judy earlier, her fingertips and palms pressed against the glass.
Looking at her palm now, there were still glass fragments embedded.
Seeing this, Judy’s eyes turned red instantly, "Bella, I’m sorry. I was supposed to protect you, but instead you ended up protecting me." She said this while crying and gently helped to remove the glass shards from Bella’s palm.
Bella smiled and comforted, "It was such an emergency just now, it’s good that neither of us got badly hurt. Don’t think too much about it."
Judy bit her lower lip, feeling a bit useless and derelict.
As an assistant, her primary job is supposed to be protecting her artist. But she only thought about hiding, while Bella rushed over to protect her with her body.
Seeing Judy’s guilty face, Bella said, "They smashed your side of the glass first; if they had smashed mine first, you would have protected me in the same way, I know."
"Bella, saying that makes me feel more guilty." Judy bit her lip, tears already flowing.
Bella sighed, "Then how about deducting two months of your salary to make you not feel guilty?"
Judy nodded, "Okay."
Bella laughed, "What do you mean, okay? I was joking. The police car is here, let’s get out of the car."
"There are glass shards all over the seat, be careful." Judy said this while pulling a blanket from the car and placing it on the seat.
Only then did the two of them open the car door and get out. The driver who had run away to hide had also come back, talking to the arriving police.
Seeing Bella and Judy getting out of the car, a police officer immediately walked up and asked, "Did you report the incident? Can you describe what happened in detail?"
Judy was still trembling now, and Bella’s legs and arms were a bit weak, but she was more composed than Judy.
She gathered her words and said, "We just left the airport, and our car was blocked deliberately by another car in front of us. The driver got out to inquire about the situation, and those people took out sticks and started smashing our car. I think they were prepared for this."
