Chapter 761: Chapter 760: Oh My Sweetheart (Part 4)

The old man was instantly captivated.

Seeing such an adorable little girl, he almost wished he could take her home right away, and give her the stars and the moon.

The old man crouched down to meet the little girl’s gaze, "Talia, would you like to let Grandpa hold you for a bit?"

"Sure!" The little girl wasn’t shy at all, and happily jumped into the old man’s arms, "Grandpa, you look really nice."

The little girl was not merely flattering.

Although the old man was aged, he didn’t look weathered from the elements and appeared quite young. His facial features could certainly show he was quite handsome in his youth.

"Oh wow, our Talia sure has great taste." The old man nuzzled her cheek repeatedly, making the little girl giggle as she playfully bumped foreheads with him.

Sharon stepped forward to help Bella carry the groceries, amused by the playful antics of the old and the young.

Bella smiled and said, "Grandpa, it’s cold outside, shall we head back?"

"Okay, okay, let’s head back, we wouldn’t want to freeze our little Talia here." The old man took the young girl’s hand, protecting her like a precious treasure as they crossed the street, occasionally bending down to make her laugh.

Sharon whispered, "Bella, who is this old gentleman?"

"I haven’t asked in detail," Bella replied, "come to think of it, I haven’t asked the old man’s last name yet, I’ve just been calling him Grandpa all along."

"You, how can you be so trusting, aren’t you afraid of meeting someone with ulterior motives?" Sharon glanced at her teasingly.

Bella rubbed her nose, "That time I went to Kingston Group to check the quality of the brand I was endorsing, and met the old man in the elevator on my way out. When the elevator reached the second floor, it malfunctioned, and it was just me and him inside. The old man said his grandson works at Kingston Group..."

"So you just assumed everything was alright and had no guard up at all?"

"Godmother, I’m not as careless as you say." Bella’s ears heated up, feeling slightly uncomfortable, diverting her gaze and said, "The old man doesn’t seem like a bad person, he just lives alone and feels lonely. Piggy was also with me back then, so we stayed to have lunch with him. Today, I came over because the old man said he fell down the stairs, and his grandson wasn’t around, so I worried something might happen to an elderly man alone."

"The old man seems quite sturdy, where did he fall?" Sharon was puzzled, as the old man’s walking didn’t reflect someone who just had a fall.

Bella chuckled helplessly, "He just wanted me to come over and have a meal with him."

Upon hearing this, Sharon immediately understood; the old man had feigned illness.

"You, appearing clever but really still the same as before." Sharon smiled at Bella knowingly, "The old man isn’t aware of what’s going on online, is he?"

"No, he doesn’t know. He overheard me talking to you over the phone earlier and felt guilty, saying he would ask his grandson to help me." Bella softly said, "Godmother, don’t worry, the old man isn’t malicious."

"Judging by his appearance, he does seem quite amiable." Sharon nodded, contemplating her own age, sighed, "Ah, nowadays, young people are so busy with their careers they neglect the elderly at home. Elderly living alone do feel quite lonely."

"Yes, that’s why if I have time, occasionally coming over for a meal isn’t a big deal." Bella smiled, "Besides, the old man is quite interesting."
