31. New Skill And Rewards.

"No, Mom, he isn't. He's actually a really good man who spends most of his free time on things like sports, or just relaxing at home."

"So, he's not like that, huh, that's great to hear." Marielle smiled even more as she stared at the chopped vegetables in front of her. "It seems he's a lot like your father was, at his age."

Hearing this, Odette felt a warm sensation coursing in her chest and she couldn't help but smile back. "Yeah, maybe."

Moving on, Marielle continued chopping for a while, but then she noticed Odette still staring through the doorway, at a certain young master, laughing his heart out at something her father had said to him.

This new side of watching him so relaxed and carefree with her father made her feel really happy in a way Odette could have never imagined possible.

But unbeknownst to her, her mother had noticed her gaze and smile at Logan.

"Oh my, Odette. It seems you have feelings for your young master, hm?"

"Huh? What? Me? No, I... We... I mean..." Odette's face and ears both went bright red the moment she noticed her mother had read her like an open book, forcing the cute half-elf to bury her face in her hands instead.

"Um, was it obvious?" she asked in a muffled tone behind her palms.

Hearing this, Marielle smiled and walked closer to her daughter.

Then she pulled her daughter into a hug whilst also being careful not to hurt Odette with the knife in her hand.

"If he makes you happy, dear, then don't let fear talk you out of it. Life gives you very few people worth holding onto, so when you find one you really like, you hold on to him properly without worrying about what could go wrong." Marielle offered Odette a little advice after noticing the hesitance the little girl had about her feelings for Logan.

Meanwhile, Odette didn't say anything in return.

Instead, she tightened her arms around her mother's waist to enjoy their embrace properly.

Being back home really made the half-elf really happy.

At first, she had her doubts about having enough time to pay her parents a visit, especially with everything that had happened these past few days, including the recent assassination attempt and Logan being attacked by those scumbag bouncers.

All this made her realise that she had to focus on her job even more for now, meaning that she wouldn't be having any spare time for herself to spend with her parents even though it had been months since she last paid them a visit.

In a nutshell, she had given up hope on seeing them during a short visit back to Alabama City, but she could have never imagined Logan would suggest visiting her parents.

It was almost like he knew she had missed them and had simply wanted to give her a brief period to spend with them before returning to Starlight City.

This was what Odette came to a conclusion with, but since she couldn't be certain about her young master's motive, she decided not to think too much about it, and to instead just enjoy her time back home.

And so, just like that, dinner was dished and served with everyone eating together like a family before calling it a night.

Now, Logan could be seen in the guest room later that night, staring at the ceiling with a smile on his face regarding how his day had been.

Despite being inexperienced in matters regarding dating and spending time with a girl, Logan was pleased with how his date with Odette had turned out.

It might not have been the best in the world, but he was certain Odette had fun today.

After all, why else would she have just texted him about how happy she felt during their date together.

This was the pure reason why Logan could be seen smiling right now as he stared at the ceiling.

But just when he was about to close his eyes to sleep, a new screen suddenly popped up in front of him, congratulating him for completing another set of quests.

Logan stared at his arms as he noticed his body glowing with a warmth coursing through it, which indicated his body had successfully acquired the new skill.

Trying it out came to mind, but he wondered how he'd return here from his aunt's home if he were to suddenly appear there.

'Oh well, I guess I'll try it out later.'

Logan swiftly pulled his attention back to his system screen, then he reallocated his newly acquired attribute points to his stats before viewing his system profile.
