30. Meeting Odette’s Parents.

  • Next Chapter

Logan filled his aunt in on what he and Odette were about to do, and where they were going as well, but Delphine didn't try to stop them.

She only demanded they give her a text the moment they arrive at Odette's place.

Anyways, after a while, the car finally arrived at a familiar street Odette had seen countless times growing up.

They soon arrived at a house which could be found at the end of a quiet street with flowers lining up the walkway of the house.

There was also a single porch light turned on despite it not being fully dark yet, but the moment Odette stepped out of the car, the front door of the house was immediately swung open with two figures rushing out of the house with tears in their eyes.

"My baby girl!!!"

"My little princess!!!"

Both parents instantly rushed over to Odette, wrapping their arms around her in a tight hug as they held her closely whilst crying at the same time.

"It's been months since you last paid us a visit."

"Your father thought I was seeing things when I told him you texted about coming home to see us."

"To think my little girl is back to us after so long, Daddy feels so happy right now."

"Mommy feels so happy as well."

Feeling sandwiched by both parents, Odette tried to escape from their hugs. "Mom, Dad, you two are embarrassing me."

Odette managed to free herself from them, but just then, both parents noticed Logan stepping out of the car.

"Oh, my goodness. Is that..."

"It has to be him, the young master Blackwell."

Both parents instantly rushed over to Logan, bowing to him in a kowtow-like position.

"Oh young master, it's an honour to finally meet you."

"To think you would ever grace us with your presence in our little abode. We are truly short of words."

Both parents showed their deepest respect to him, making Logan feel incredibly shocked and short of words himself.

"Mom, Dad. You guys have to stop. It's truly embarrassing." Odette tried to pull them up but neither of them felt like raising their heads up yet.

So Logan decided to help.

"Please, get up. You don't have to do..."

"That's impossible, young master Blackwell. With everything your mother has done for us, this is merely nothing in comparison." Odette's father announced as he slowly raised his head with Odette's mom following right after.

"Yes, young master Blackwell. If it wasn't for your mother, I doubt my husband and I would even be alive right now, so please, let us give thanks to the child of our benefactor." Odette's mother added but her husband suddenly realised something, so he spoke up.

"Oh, forgive me. Where are my manners. My name is Elias Dupont and this here is my wife, Marielle Dupont."

"Please come in, come in, both of you. Dinner is almost ready, and I will not take no for an answer." Marielle welcomed both Logan and Odette into the house and everyone stepped in.

Looking closely, Logan noticed Odette inherited her father's silver-coloured hair and her mother's blue eyes.

Elias was an elf whilst his wife was a human with brown hair and bright blue eyes.

Anyways, as everyone stepped into the house, it didn't take long for the household to split naturally down the middle with Elias practically dragging Logan toward the living room the moment he realised Logan was a fan of football, just like him.

"So you follow the sport too?" Elias asked whilst showing Logan the team currently playing on the television.

"Yeah, I do." Logan replied whilst taking his seat.

Then he realised he recognised the two teams on the screen.

Within minutes, both men sat down to watch the match and were already shouting at the screen with Elias defending his own team who happened to be one of the two teams playing now.

"Oh come on. That was clearly offside!"

"Huh? No way. That's definitely not offside! Your eyes must be failing you, old man!"

"Impossible, young master Blackwell. My eyes are perfectly fine. It's your striker who needs to get his eyes checked or something."

"Why's that?" Since Logan's favourite team had played last night, he had no other choice but to support the opposing team since he clearly didn't support the team Elias liked.

"Really, young master? You're asking me that? The guy just missed three clean chances to score."

"It's not his fault. It's clearly the linesman's fault."

"Yeah, right. Keep blaming the linesman for proper officiating."

"Hey, the striker's been having a difficult season, so it's normal for strikers like him to go through a slump once in a while."

"A slump? You call missing a clear chance against an empty net a slump? That's incompetence, young master Blackwell. That striker needs to be shown the basics at this point."

"Nah, who cares. As long as your team doesn't win this match, I don't mind how many sitters he misses."

"You really are so cruel, young master Blackwell."

The two continued to share their opinions about the match whilst their voices echoed excitedly through their passionate exchange.

Meanwhile, Odette could be seen watching from the kitchen doorway with a smile on her face at how quickly her father and young master were bonding over something as simple as a ball rolling across a field.

'Men are so weird.' Odette uttered in her thoughts as she smiled whilst heading to help her mom in the kitchen.

Despite Logan and Odette already having eaten back in the restaurant, Marielle hoped to make something light for them to enjoy before resting for the night.

Though, she would have preferred to make something extraordinarily spectacular for both Odette and Logan, but she would prefer to hold back for now with the hope of not overfeeding the young master on his first visit in their home.

Moving on, time passed as both ladies helped each other out in the kitchen, with Marielle handing her daughter a knife and a cutting board.

Then she asked softly, whilst also keeping her voice really low, so that the men in the other room wouldn't hear what they were saying.

"I have to say, dear. I never expected the young master you work for to be so handsome." Marielle smiled whilst bumping her hips with that of Odette's.

"Mom?"

"What? I'm just saying. Besides, what's wrong with acknowledging how good-looking he is."

"..." Odette didn't reply but rather kept her gaze focused on what she was chopping.

"Anyways, I wonder. Is he the type to be heading out to clubs at night? Or does he enjoy sleeping around the city with different women every night? With all these rumours about rich young masters I hear in the news all the time, I wonder if the young master is like that as well."
