Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1786: Do You Love Old Mills?
"Yes, we have seriously discussed this topic."
The daughter wore a slightly shy smile on her face and honestly replied, "At least we should wait until you get discharged from the hospital and until your relationship with Old Mills is stable."
"Why?" Carlotta Sterling felt a bit embarrassed, "Are we getting in the way of you two?"
"It’s not really that we’re obstructing," Janelle looked up and said, "It’s just that Trevor and I both hope you can reconcile with each other. Watching you make amends, we can enter the hall of marriage in peace. Wouldn’t that be more perfect?"
Really two understanding and kind-hearted children. Carlotta Sterling looked at her with a loving smile, feeling somewhat indebted.
Although she adopted her from human traffickers, she divorced Old Mills shortly after, never providing her with a complete, warm home.
Janelle is a girl with a very good temperament. She smiled and changed the topic, asking directly, "Did you talk about reconciliation just now? Did Old Mills confess his feelings to you?"
Her beautiful eyes were filled with gossip.
Janelle glanced around at the room full of roses, speculating that someone as romantic as Old Mills probably couldn’t hold back. When she and Trevor left, he was already tearful.
Carlotta Sterling looked at the lucky bracelet on her wrist, a bright smile appearing at the corner of her mouth. "Do you think if we were to reconcile, would it be considered impulsive?" As the words fell, a serene expression replaced the smile.
The girl hesitated slightly, as the mother and daughter exchanged glances, Janelle softly asked, "Are you afraid that after the impulse, only regret will remain?"
"..." Carlotta Sterling replied in silence, lowering her gaze, retracting her eyes, a brief silence fell in the room.
"Do you love Old Mills?" Janelle Mills lifted her long eyelashes, asking expectantly, "Don’t think, just answer the first thing that comes to mind."
"I do," Carlotta Sterling followed her heart and confessed.
"There’s a popular saying recently, do you know what it is?"
"What is it?"
Janelle Mills smiled and said, "All love that can’t lead to marriage is nonsense. Truly loving people will marry even if the sky falls."
"..." Carlotta Sterling was amused by her, also feeling there’s some truth in it.
Who wasn’t fearless for love when they were young?
Carlotta Sterling explained, "It’s just that we’re different from you. We’re all mature adults now. After being apart for many years, who knows whether we’ll truly be compatible when we get along again? In the past, some flaws may not have had time to magnify before we decided to separate."
"Precisely because we’ve missed many years that we’ll compromise with each other, then we’ll better understand what love is." Janelle Mills, after experiencing a relationship, suddenly realized many truths, "As long as there is love, I think nothing else matters."
Listening to her daughter, Carlotta Sterling felt relieved in many ways. She would change, she would put away her assertiveness and sharpness, she would try her best to be a good wife.
"Janelle, mom knows how to do it now." Carlotta Sterling held her hand, "Mom also hopes you can be happy."
"Mm-hmm." The girl smiled brightly.
After accompanying her mother to finish the IV drip, Carlotta Sterling lay down to rest, while Trevor accompanied Janelle on the next bed. They snuggled together, chatting softly, creating a very warm scene.
Though not married, they got along just like family.
Lorelei.
Three hours ago, the King took the medication and is now lying down to rest, already in a dream, and is in a dreamland—
"Annie... Annie..." He saw his grown-up daughter in the crowd, although it was just a side profile, but he was absolutely certain. "Annie, don’t run!"
The King crossed the crowd, chasing after that girl.
