"Trevor, isn’t your company busy?" Carlotta looked at the gentle man standing by the bed with some concern.

Trevor’s lips curved slightly, "Aunt, the company isn’t busy. I’ve already been to the company this morning and arranged everything for tomorrow. Today, Janelle and I are here with you."

She nodded, "Good." Then Nathan Mills picked up the computer from the bedside table, said goodbye to everyone, and left.

His mind was on the large expanse of roses in the yard, always carefully nurturing them, and he couldn’t let them be ruined by neglect during this time.

Nathan Mills drove back home, and as soon as he got out of the car, he bent down in the yard to check on them. The roses all over the yard filled him with delight, and he finally breathed a sigh of relief because they had already budded.

He thought that when Carlotta was discharged, they might be blooming in large clusters, and it would be very beautiful indeed.

Moreover, these were breeds introduced from the Hawthorne family, premium among roses, and blossoming quite differently from those bought at the florist, at least a hundred times more beautiful.

As Nathan Mills watered these flowers and plants, he wore a smile, as if he were nurturing his own children.

He especially looked forward to the day Carlotta would be discharged, and he would bring her here to see the yard filled with blooming roses.

Her smile would surely be radiant that day. It would undoubtedly be the most special gift.

He would kneel on one knee amidst the large clusters of roses, take out a ring, and propose to her...

In the hospital room.

Trevor’s phone rang, and he turned to go outside to answer it.

The room was left with just the mother and son. Janelle sat in the chair by the bed and took out a red cord bracelet from her pocket, woven with a small ’fortune’ character pendant.

She took her mother’s wrist and gently tied the bracelet on.

Carlotta looked at her with some surprise, "Janelle..."

"This is my lucky bracelet, I’ll lend it to you for a few days." Janelle Mills said with a smile as she tied it, "I hope the most adorable and great Sister Sterling can get well soon and be discharged early."

Janelle didn’t know the origin of the bracelet and had no memory before she was five, but the bracelet seemed to always bring her a magical force, so she had always kept it well.

Carlotta looked at the smiling girl before her, a feeling of bittersweet flooded her heart, and a certain scene from twenty years ago flashed through her mind...

The sensible little girl with a slender wrist wore this bracelet, which was stained with blood...

If it wasn’t for that car accident, if she and Old Mills hadn’t driven past the scene, if they hadn’t been kind enough to help, they would never have met Janelle.

"What’s wrong?" Janelle Mills noticed her drifting off and asked softly, "What are you thinking about?"

She was grateful to the heavens. Carlotta pursed her lips, a tender look appearing on her face, "Thank you, Janelle. By wearing this lucky bracelet, mom will definitely get well and be discharged soon."

"Mmmhmm." Janelle Mills really wanted to match her mom with Old Mills, so she held her hand and said to her, "Old Mills has been staying here these days. He’s really worried about you."

"Hmm." Sister Sterling then asked, "Child, how are things developing with Trevor?"

"We’re doing well."

Janelle’s face showed a happy smile, a bit shy, "We just went to the movies together. He takes care of the details really well, and has been accompanying me as much as possible during this time."

Trevor is a reliable man. Sister Sterling saw and increasingly approved of him in her heart.

"So when are you planning to get married?" Carlotta probed, "Have you talked about the topic? If he brings it up, don’t play hard to get; don’t miss out on such a good man."
