Chapter 335: What? Do you want me to spoon-feed you everything?

[The only possibility you would not would be...

If you found another way to get what you want.]

That made Lucian smile.

"You’re overthinking it, Teacher."

[Do not play around with me, Lucian.]

Vivienne spoke in a strict tone. She did not like being part of Lucian’s games. He was planning something, she was sure about it.

She wanted to know what it was.

[What are you thinking of doing?]

And she asked directly.

But this time, Lucian shook his head.

"I am not playing around, Teacher. I am not thinking of doing anything. I rejected Aurelia because I cannot compromise my strength."

He answered with a seemingly genuine tone.

Then, as if he did not want Vivienne to note anything else, he chuckled innocently.

"And you know how much I care about our training, no? If a relationship makes me unable to train for at least two weeks, I cannot have that, now can I?"

His smile then widened as he thought of something.

"I can’t possibly let another woman come between us, Teacher.

I will always prioritise you."

He expected Vivienne to snap right about now but...

Vivienne remained silent.

That made Lucian’s expression more complicated, because that meant Vivienne saw through his words.

She knew he was lying.

And Lucian...

He couldn’t tell her the truth either.

He did not want her to try and stop him, because she was one of the few people whose words had the power to actually stop him.

He could not have that.

He could not always have his teacher go through his decisions before he finally did something.

This time, he wanted to move on his own.

And perhaps Vivienne could sense that intention, so she—

[Do not die.]

Beep.

She cut the call.

That made Lucian blink in shock. He stared at the screen for the next few seconds, then, he let out a loud sigh and fell back on the bed, preparing his mind for what was about to come.

...

Three hours later, Lucian found himself standing inside his room, staring at the two objects Aurelia had given him.

One was a small crimson token that was barely larger than a coin, there were no symbols on it, no visible runes, nothing that made it look particularly special.

The second was a tiny black earpiece.

"That’s surprisingly modern."

Lucian was impressed.

Though honestly, he was expecting something more along the lines of the old fantasy gimmick.

A communication scroll of sorts.

But—

He had to make do with whatever he had.

Lucian picked it up and placed it inside his ear.

"So this is how we’re doing this?"

He spoke with a small smile on his face.

[Can you hear me?]

Aurelia’s voice came from the other side.

"Loud and clear."

Lucian chuckled.

[Good. These earpieces are special, they are made so only the wearer, that is you, can hear my voice. No matter how sensitive one’s hearing is, if they aren’t wearing it, then even if they are standing next to you, they won’t be able to hear me.]

"That’s... cool.

Although this would be much cooler if you whispered instead."

[Why?]

"It’s more romantic that way."

He didn’t miss the moment to pass a comment and Aurelia—

[Then I will do just that~]

She whispered softly.

"Wooh~"

Lucian felt a wave passing through his body as he heard her whisper. This was indeed much better, it almost felt as if she was right here, very, very close to him.

[Better?]

She asked.

"Very."

Lucian nodded with a satisfied look on his face.

"So? Why did you give these things to me here? You told me to come to your room."

[You see, I am... in a compromising position.]

Aurelia answered with a soft chuckle.

"What happened?"

Lucian asked, however, the woman did not give a clear answer.

[I will let your imagination run wild.]

That made Lucian close his eyes for a moment, he had... things he needed to think about. Aurelia chuckled at the silence.

Then—

[Alright, you should move now. We do not have much time.]

"Oh? Already?"

Lucian’s expression changed.

[Yes.]

"So what exactly am I doing?"

He asked curiously as he picked up the crimson token and placed it inside his pocket.

[Leave your room.]

"Detailed indeed."

[It is more fun this way, trust me.]

"Alright, I’ll trust you."

Lucian smiled as he walked towards the door.

[Be relaxed, don’t seem too odd. You have to not stand out.]

"I have an earpiece in my ear and I am talking out loud as I walk."

That didn’t exactly make it easy for him to lay low.

[No one can see your earpiece, don’t worry.

And we will keep the conversation to a minimum when we start.]

"Alright."

Lucian nodded.

Then, he looked around one more time as he stretched and relaxed his body.

[Head towards the eastern service corridor.]

Aurelia instructed.

Lucian followed, the estate was quieter than usual since it was the middle of the afternoon. Of course, it still wasn’t empty.

There were still servants moving around, Vampires walking between buildings and several guards stationed near more important passages.

Lucian eased himself, smiling at the Vampires he passed by.

There were no signs of nervousness on his face, after training with Vivienne, things seldom made him nervous.

This was also the reason he could talk with someone like Aurelia with such ease.

He placed his hands in his pockets and walked without any hurry, eventually, he reached the corridor Aurelia mentioned.

Then—

[Right about now, you will see a servant coming out of the kitchen entrance pushing a covered service cart.]

Aurelia informed.

Lucian looked, he didn’t see anything.

Then, about ten seconds later, he did.

"I see her."

He smiled lightly.

A young Vampire woman walked out of the kitchen entrance, pushing a covered service cart exactly like Aurelia told him.

[The order is for Lord Marius Devere. Take the cart from her.]

"And how do I do that?"

[I’ll leave that to you.]

Aurelia chuckled and Lucian—

"Seriously?"

He spoke with a flat look on his face.

[What? Do you want me to spoon-feed you everything?]

Aurelia answered and Lucian’s mouth twitched.
