"I usually only eat plain porridge. I even looked up a recipe before I made this."

"Rose is so good to me," Keith said, devouring the porridge in big spoonfuls.

The light ahead turned red, and Rose Shaw stopped the car, glancing at Keith. "That was a huge portion. You finished it all?"

"Wasn’t it for me?"

"Yes, but it was so much. You finished it all already?"

"You made it especially for me. I actually thought it wasn’t enough."

"I was thinking we could go out to eat later."

Keith: "..."

’You should have said so earlier!’

"Since you’re full, let’s just go straight to the studio. I’ve thought it over. You’ll be Melody’s agent, and I’ll manage the studio. We’ve signed a few artists now, so we need to get things going. You can’t handle all that by yourself."

"If Melody finds out about this, she’ll be over the moon!"

"I’ll tell her myself when she gets back."

"Okay."

"There’s something else. I’ve been staying at your place and bothering you for so long, and I feel bad about it. I’m thinking of selling my house in Rockwellburg and getting a new one in Jansburg."

"Selling the house in Rockwellburg is fine, but do you really need to get a new one in Jansburg?" Keith asked, his mind drifting to Rose’s home in Rockwellburg.

’No, that couldn’t be called a home.’

He still shuddered whenever he thought about that night, about that scene.

’What if she decorates the new house in that same style again?’

’Living there long-term, even a normal person would start having issues, right?’

Besides, the last thing he wanted was for her to move out.

"About the house... why don’t you wait a little? Buying a house isn’t like buying anything else."

"Have I ever told you that I’ve actually spent more time in Jansburg than in Rockwellburg?" Rose Shaw asked suddenly.

"I think you might have mentioned that."

"So, I’ve had it all figured out for a while now—where to buy, what kind of place. In fact, I’ve already found one."

"Where is it?"

"Bluecrest."

Keith shook his head.

He wasn’t familiar with the area at all. The moment he’d returned, Tommy had arranged a place for him to live.

"It’s not an apartment, it’s a duplex."

"Is it big?"

"Over two hundred square meters."

"That’s not bad."

Rose Shaw hadn’t managed to save much over the years. After selling her house in Rockwellburg and adding the cash she had on hand, she was able to make a fifty-percent down payment and take out a mortgage for the rest. The paperwork was currently being processed.

"About the press conference, do you need my help arranging it?"

"I really do need you," Keith said immediately, then added, "In every way."

Rose shot him a look but didn’t say anything.

...

Early in the morning, Melody Monroe was woken by her alarm.

She sat up, groggy.

Evan Fairchild was already up. She could faintly hear the sound of running water from the bathroom.

She hadn’t wanted to leave with Evan yesterday, but he had ended up coaxing her back with him.

Melody was just about to get out of bed to find her clothes when the bathroom door suddenly swung open.

She immediately jumped back into bed and pulled the covers up, wrapping herself in them.

Seeing her reaction, a flicker of amusement crossed Evan Fairchild’s eyes.

"Hand me some clothes from the closet," Melody said, pointing to it.

"Get them yourself."

"You..." Melody looked mortified. ’He knows perfectly well that I...’

"What’s there to be afraid of? It’s not like I haven’t seen it all before."

Melody clutched the comforter around herself and awkwardly climbed out of bed to get her clothes. She had just grabbed an outfit when she spun around and crashed right into Evan’s chest.

He had just showered. His hair was still wet. She saw droplets of water clinging to his skin and dripping from the tips of his hair.
