Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 568: Don’t We Look Like a Loving Couple?
Keith Coleman had returned to Jansburg early.
Rose Shaw went to pick him up from the airport.
When Rose Shaw saw Keith Coleman emerge from the terminal, she walked over, carrying an insulated food container.
Keith Coleman immediately took off his scarf and wrapped it around Rose Shaw’s neck.
Rose Shaw didn’t reject the intimate gesture. She felt she was starting to rely on Keith Coleman. ’It’s not about romance,’ she thought, ’but being with him makes me feel so relaxed and secure.’
"What’s this?" Keith Coleman asked, looking at the container in Rose Shaw’s hands.
"Didn’t you say you were in such a hurry you didn’t even have time to eat before your flight? I made some porridge. It’s still hot. You can eat it in the car to tide you over."
"Doesn’t this give you the feeling of a loving couple?" Keith Coleman said, putting special emphasis on the words "loving couple."
Rose Shaw shot him a look. "Are you at it again? Does your mouth get itchy if you go a single day without saying things like that?"
"It is. You should kiss it better," Keith Coleman said, lunging playfully toward Rose Shaw.
Rose Shaw immediately pushed him away and started playfully pounding on his shoulder.
Holding the food container, Keith Coleman dodged her playful attacks.
Suddenly, Rose Shaw stopped in her tracks, the smile on her face slowly freezing.
Keith Coleman followed her gaze and saw a familiar figure standing not far away. He immediately walked over and put his arm around Rose Shaw’s shoulder.
In Christopher Sterling’s eyes, it was a deeply provocative move. Keith Coleman was staking his claim.
"President Sterling, hello," Rose Shaw greeted softly.
Christopher Sterling’s gaze lingered on Keith Coleman. He remembered the first time they’d met—Keith had a devil-may-care attitude, and his fashion sense had been... questionable.
This time, however, Keith had traded his casual clothes for a more formal outfit and had even cut his slightly long hair. His whole demeanor was completely different.
His gaze shifted to Rose Shaw, and he gave a slight nod.
"If you ever want to come back to the company, you’re welcome anytime."
His tone made it sound as if he were talking to a rebellious child who had run away from home.
"That’s not going to happen, President Sterling. We appreciate the offer, but Rose has no intention of returning. A good horse doesn’t return to the pasture it’s already grazed. Besides, you’re a married man. The actions of your dear wife are... hard to describe, really. What position does an invitation like this put Rose in? Or are your intentions less than honorable? You’ve certainly mastered the art of playing ambiguous games."
"You know, President Sterling, at first, I considered you a rival. But now? You don’t even qualify. You’re not worthy! Why don’t you get a divorce? Then we could really compete and see who ultimately wins Rose’s heart."
Christopher Sterling ignored Keith Coleman’s provocations. He gave Rose Shaw one last look, then turned and walked straight into the airport terminal.
"Rose," Keith Coleman said, looking at her with concern.
"Let’s go."
"Okay."
Rose Shaw drove while Keith Coleman sat in the passenger seat. He opened the food container, and an appetizing aroma wafted out. But when he saw what was actually in the porridge, his brow furrowed.
"Rose, what kind of porridge is this?"
"Multi-grain porridge."
"Isn’t this kind of porridge usually vegetarian? Why is there meat in it?"
"For a little extra nutrition."
Keith Coleman picked up the spoon and gave it a stir. "And shrimp? And greens... what’s this?"
"A fish bone, I think? The meat must have fallen apart."
Keith Coleman was speechless.
He took a tentative bite and immediately nodded in approval. "This porridge is amazing! It’s my first time eating such a high-class porridge. The ingredients are on par with a hot pot!"
