Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 566: His Biological Son
Evan Fairchild never left Melody Monroe’s side. Melody didn’t bother schmoozing with anyone—she didn’t even offer a toast to Director Wallace, who had always been so good to her.
"Melody Monroe is at the peak of her life. With a man like Evan Fairchild wrapped around her finger, why would she need to network?" Cheryl Rhodes said, her words slurring slightly from the alcohol.
Every word she spoke dripped with sour jealousy.
"Evan Fairchild isn’t that kind of person, is he? How could he be so bewitched by Melody Monroe?"
"Has Melody Monroe cleared her name?"
"I haven’t seen her post anything. The comments under her social media posts have all been scrubbed."
"She doesn’t have time to worry about that now. Latching onto a guy like Evan Fairchild solves all her problems."
"Does Evan Fairchild really not care that Melody Monroe has a love child?"
"Look at him. Does he look like he cares?"
The group glanced back toward Evan Fairchild and Melody Monroe. Seeing the pair chatting and laughing so happily together, they wanted to grind their teeth to dust in sheer frustration!

Noelle Grant spent the entire day at the nursing home before returning to the house she shared with her husband in Argent.
Her husband was sitting on the sofa, scrolling through his tablet.
"Where’s our son?"
"In the study, doing his homework."
Noelle Grant froze. "Really?"
"His third uncle told him that if he doesn’t ace his exams, he’ll make him regret the day he was born."
"That doesn’t sound like something your third brother would say, does it?"
"That’s your son’s own summary of the situation."
"Pfft."
"Final exams are just around the corner. Do you think he can actually meet his uncle’s standards?" It wasn’t that Noelle didn’t have faith in her son; it was just that he was an absolute handful.
’This was exactly why she’d never wanted a second child.’
’One was more than enough.’
’If she had another one just like him, she’d probably fall into a deep depression.’
’She’d start to question her life choices!’
"That’s not our problem to worry about. It’s his."
"You’re so calm about it."
"Our youngest brother hates getting involved in other people’s business. The fact that he’s willing to step in and manage our son is a blessing for us. Becoming a father really changes a man."
"Becoming a father? You’ve seen the news online?" Noelle had been planning to bring it up with him when she got home.
"I’m looking at it right now."
Her husband handed the tablet to Noelle.
"I’m not completely up to speed. I just know Melody Monroe has a child who’s over three, almost four now. Are you saying your brother has accepted the child for Melody’s sake?"
"That’s what I thought at first, too, but it’s not the truth."
"The truth?" Noelle asked, confused. She took the tablet, and a photo of a little boy appeared on the screen. "Is this Melody Monroe’s son? He’s absolutely adorable!"
"He’s your brother’s son, too. His biological son."
"That’s impossible, isn’t it? The boy’s too old for that. How could he be his son? Besides, hasn’t your brother spent most of his years abroad?"
"The boy is just like our brother was when he was little."
"They look exactly alike?"
"Not his looks, his aura. It’s identical." Her husband pulled her onto his lap, helping her remember. "Do you recall that one year your brother came home for the holidays?"
"That was years ago."
"Right. That was the year."
"That’s just too far-fetched."
"Something like this only needs to happen once." Her husband said, scrolling through the photos on the tablet with a gentle look in his eyes. "You know, I suddenly feel for the boy, and for Melody Monroe. Raising a child at such a young age... it couldn’t have been easy."
"I know." Noelle, who had been through the wringer with her own son, knew exactly how hard raising a child could be.
