Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 407 - 405: The Best Thigh-Hugging Pig
Evan Fairchild knew it. Having some alone time was going to be difficult.
Melody Monroe stole a glance at him. Even though she was long past the point of him being a stranger, looking at him like this still made her blush and her heart race.
’Thank goodness Ian is here,’ she thought. ’Otherwise, this would be so awkward.’
Evan Fairchild sat down beside Melody Monroe, picked up the nearby bottle of red wine, and poured two glasses.
"This wine was already here when I arrived."
"It’s a complimentary service from the hotel."
"Oh." Melody Monroe nodded. ’The joys of being rich are truly beyond my imagination.’
"Ian Monroe, take your pig and go play somewhere else."
"No! I want to soak with Mom. I’ve already seen the other spots, and this one is the most fun!" Ian Monroe immediately refused.
’Looks like his homework load is too light!’ Evan Fairchild thought.
Bunny, having picked up a flower petal from who knows where, was happily munching on it. When it heard Ian’s voice, it immediately let out a couple of OINKS.
"See? Even Bunny agrees with me."
Evan Fairchild shot Bunny a look, and the little pig was so frightened it immediately spat out the petal.
"Don’t be scared, Bunny! He wouldn’t dare eat you." Ian Monroe immediately shielded the little pig behind him. "Here, have an apple."
As soon as Bunny saw the apple, its eyes lit up.
"Bunny sure knows who to cozy up to," Melody Monroe said with a laugh.
’A pig is still a pig! So stupid!’ Evan Fairchild thought. ’What’s the use of cozying up to Ian Monroe?’
’It doesn’t even realize who’s the head of this family!’
Bunny was lying there, happily gnawing on its apple, when it felt a sudden sting. It quickly lifted its head and looked around.
The apple it had been clutching rolled away. It immediately scrambled up to chase it, but the apple tumbled down a small, flowing water channel.
"Bunny!" Ian Monroe yelled, but the pig kept running.
He immediately scrambled out to chase after it.
Even though it was a private courtyard, Bunny was small enough to run all over through the little drainage channels.
If it ran out of the villa, it might get lost for good!
Evan Fairchild felt the world finally fall silent.
He held a glass of red wine out to Melody Monroe. "A little red wine can help you sleep."
In truth, he loved seeing her when she was slightly tipsy. It was an exquisite sight.
Melody Monroe took a sip and instantly felt a sense of ease wash over her.
She was warm from soaking for so long. The wine had been chilling on ice, and a sip carried away some of the heat, leaving behind only a refreshing coolness.
One sip wasn’t enough, so she drank the entire glass.
Her face, already flushed from the bath, gained an extra touch of allure after the wine.
"Can I have another sip?"
"You little tippler," Evan Fairchild chided gently, but he poured her another glass anyway, secretly glancing at the wine’s alcohol content.
"I really have to thank Dr. White for curing my allergy. It’s actually quite nice to have a drink now and then."
Melody Monroe hadn’t always been a teetotaler.
Especially during holidays when the dorms were empty. She would be by herself, buy some barbecue, and grab a few cans of beer.
At first, she could only manage one can. Later, she could down several in one go.
She’d drink alone, get drunk, and collapse into bed. The next day, she would wake up and continue living a life as bland as plain water.
With a background more ordinary than most, average looks, and unremarkable grades, Melody Monroe felt like she was truly just a speck of dust.
But now... she lifted her head to look at Evan Fairchild beside her.
’All of this feels like something I’ve stolen.’
’I’m afraid that one day, I’ll have to give it all back, and I’ll be left with nothing.’
