Transmigrated as The Best Female Character of the Year
Chapter 387 - 385: Should We...
"You little thing, you sure know how to pick your people!"
’Rose has never held me that tenderly!’
’A man can’t even compare to a pig!’
Suddenly, his phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID, his expression turning grave, and he turned to walk outside.
"Keith, we’ve noticed some suspicious movements from Chester Johnson. We’re afraid he might be planning something for tonight."
"Keep a close eye on him!"
"Don’t worry, Keith. We’re watching him like hawks!"
"Make sure you have some people at the banquet later. There can be absolutely no slip-ups!"
"Yes!"
Keith Coleman hung up and immediately strode off in a specific direction.
Evan Fairchild was in the villa complex, enjoying an entire villa all to himself.
Keith Coleman hurried over to personally report the news he had just received.
"Just Chester Johnson?" Evan Fairchild asked.
"Yes. We’ve been tailing him for the past few days and we’re sure he has no accomplices. Should we...?"
"No, just follow her plan. But, you keep a tight watch. There can’t be any accidents!"
"Yes, sir!"
...
Melody Monroe changed into her gown and applied some light makeup herself.
She’d been so unused to it at first, but now she could handle putting on makeup well enough to go out. The path from tomboy to goddess really wasn’t easy.
Bunny had already fallen asleep in Rose Shaw’s arms, but the moment he heard Melody Monroe emerge, he immediately lifted his head, staring at her with his beady black eyes.
Melody Monroe walked over and patted Bunny’s head. "You can go back to sleep. I have to go now."
Bunny’s gaze remained glued to her. Wherever she went, its eyes followed.
"You can tell he really likes you," Rose Shaw said, setting Bunny down on the floor.
Bunny immediately scampered over to Melody Monroe.
"This pig... I bet he’s just playing you because you’re pretty, Melody. His standards are so high, only picking out beauties to ask for cuddles."
Melody Monroe picked Bunny up. "You have to get along with Ian in the future, okay? Once I’m done filming this show, I’ll send you to be with him."
Keith Coleman pushed the door open and came in. Seeing that Melody Monroe was ready, he asked softly, "It’s about time. Shall I go with you?"
"Okay," Melody Monroe nodded.
When Melody Monroe arrived at the second-floor banquet hall, many people had already gathered.
In the crowd, Eileen Scott’s attire was without a doubt the most conspicuous. She wore a long, mermaid-style evening gown with a back that was open all the way down to her waist.
Eileen Scott was very thin, with a scrawny figure that couldn’t fill out the gown at all, making it look loose and saggy.
She had arrived the earliest and hadn’t expected everyone else’s attire to be so conventional. She was the only one extravagantly dressed, which actually made her stick out awkwardly.
"Miss Scott, maybe we should go back and change your gown? There’s still time," Eileen Scott’s assistant whispered beside her.
"No! It’s too much trouble to go back and change!" Eileen Scott immediately shook her head. "I’ll wear what I want to wear. Why should I have to cater to them?"
The assistant took a step back, not daring to say another word.
"Have you seen Melody Monroe? It’s almost time, why isn’t she here yet?" Eileen Scott scanned her surroundings. Melody Monroe was her greatest enemy.
She was very curious to see what Melody Monroe would be wearing.
Melody Monroe’s gown was a white dress with a cinched waist design, which perfectly accentuated her wonderful figure.
With looks like Melody Monroe’s, she didn’t need much adornment to stand out.
Simple and elegant, combined with her natural aura, was enough to outshine everyone.
When Melody Monroe made her entrance, all eyes were on her. Her appearance was a breath of fresh air, as if everyone’s eyes had been cleansed.
