Too Late For Regrets: I Sold My Soul To The New Intern
Chapter 89: Gorgeous And Very Brave
How long will it take those men to keep guard of the main entrance for?
Hiding underneath the diamond staircase of the ground floor, Corrine moved like a stealth ninja on a mission to escape a prison house. She peeked through the gap between the golden railings, her eyes narrowing on the main entrance several feet from where she was.
She did a quick head count of the tall, armed men—or were they monsters too?
She wiggled her eyebrows, not having any idea what they might be at this point.
She disappeared back into the shadows beneath the staircase and thought of what to do next.
Currently, her heart was racing. Not after knowing that creep left her off so easily without doing anything.
She placed her hand against her chest for the third time since she hid here, trying her best not to be discovered by anyone as she remembered that smile of dark amusement he gave her.
It was sick.
She shivered, rubbing her shoulders as she felt the onslaught of goosebumps all over her body.
The longer she stayed with him, the more she feared all those times she either insulted or disrespected him.
Oh my god, I even threatened to lock him up in jail for the rest of his life once!
Or was it twice or three times?
Corrine couldn’t count.
She peeked through the gap again and watched as the tall men that fit the perfect description of I am armed and dangerous. I won’t let offenders off so easily gather around the main entrance of the building, their heads thrown back in laughter as one of them said something funny.
They all had the best shades of blue, green, purple eyes and looked ridiculously handsome and well-built. The ones with dark shades positioned themselves stiffly at every inch and corner of the entrance. Their eyes are sharp and predatory like an eagle for any suspicious moves.
They could gun her down easily if they found her escaping.
Or worse, eat her alive if they found out that she wasn’t human.
Corrine gave up again. Her hands in her hair in frustration as she tried not to break down in tears. Hell, it was too early for those.
What was all this for god sake?
How did I go from being a really cool, rebellious heiress battling cancer to a ressurected captive, helpless flower of an intern you would not believe could transform into a fucking snake!
She groaned out again as if in great agony.
What am I to do now?
I can’t stay here forever until he gets tired and decides to make me his next meal.
If he doesn’t eat or harm me in any way, surely one of the monsters that lurked in this building wouldn’t mind having her.
This was definitely not the life she hoped for or imagined when she braved up enough to leave everything behind and cut ties with her family!
Now, what to do...
How am I going to escape this hell to survive the next?
She blinked, noticing that none of the demons that guarded the main entrance had no intention of leaving the place soon. Hell, they were lively and friendly with each other—but never distracted.
Maybe I should try—’’Mhhmmm.’’
Corrine blinked again and turned in the direction of where she heard that muffled sound. Although she was far away, her eyes were good enough to spot the bastard trying to take advantage of the girl pinned not so discreetly at a corner. The one after the tall and huge nine feet nude statue of a fallen angel.
What?!
Anais moved closer, to the opposite end of the space in which she hid herself in to observe clearly what the situation was. Her eyes widened a bit at the familiar face of the girl getting touched without her consent by a freaking demon.
Where have I seen this face before?
Her eyes moved quickly in urgency as she tried to recall that helpless but kind face. The same that greeted her so kindly when she woke up feeling lonely, confused and overwhelmed by everything!
Corrine gasped in realization.
’’No, no, no, please don’t. Stop,’’ She cried out again but the monster pinning her to the wall wouldn’t listen and advanced further, frightening the poor girl.
Corrine felt a burning rage surge within her at the act.
How shameless and very inclined with the attitude of a monster!
’’What do you mean by no? Don’t you enjoy it when those demons at the bottomless pit pass you around without shame? I am different and better than all those demons you fucked with like a low class incubus whore! You should feel proud I even find you worthy enough to want to take to my bed, little demon.’’
Alveerah squeezed her eyes tight shut. Hot tears flowed freely down her cheeks when he came on hard and kissed her lips roughly without her consent.
Corrine’s eyes turned into sharp slits.
She moved away from her hiding spot after grabbing a small flower pot placed by the side on a golden table and tip-toed gently behind them. The girl struggled against the demon but he was stronger. She prayed silently that someone will spare her from the humiliation of being taken advantage of again. If the word should spread out in a place like this, like it did all over Hell, there would really be no place for her to stay here in this world.
She could as well say goodbye to fitting in here and being accepted. And also, her long time wish of a happily ever after someday.
Bang!
Crash!
Corrine stepped away quickly the moment she landed a shattering blow behind the demon’s bald head without warning.
’’Ahh,’’ the monster’s groan of pain was deep and rumbling. Echoing all over the space as he bent over to mourn the sharp pain that seized him at the back of his neck and head.
Alveerah gasped, her eyes opening when she no longer felt him on her anymore. Her eyes moved in fear and widened in surprise at the sight of the human she had been in charge of watching over by Madam Alove.
She stood bravely behind the demon, her glares hot and venomous, she could freeze the whole atlantic ocean in one gaze. She let go of what remained of the flower pot and it crashed beside her bare feet. Her chest rising and falling in anger.
Alveerah blinked once again in disbelief. A certain feeling, an indescribable emotion swelled heavily in her chest as she slowly adjusted her clothes, her eyes not moving from the human that just saved her one bit.
’’I don’t care if you are a demon or not. But when she says no, you fuck off!’’ She said, causing Alveerah eyes to widen the more, her breath hitching in her throat as she wondered just who this human was.
Does His Royal Highness even know that she’s here?!
Of course, the freak healed quickly enough to stand upright again.
Corrine shifted back a bit while still taking her stance. Her eyes flickered over to the demon in concern and asked quickly, ’’Are you okay?’’
Alveerah remained short of words. Her eyes just fell dumbly on the human in genuine adoration. It made her want to run quickly to her and hid behind her for protection.
And she did just that.
It was an amazing feeling. To see someone stand up for her in her long years of living this miserable life.
Someone she’d only met a few days ago and so far had just one or two interactions with her.
It was remarkable and she felt safer with her here.
Corrine placed a protective hand before the girl hiding behind her when the demon groaned out again and turned slowly to face the brat that had the audacity to stand up to him.
And to his surprise.
It was just a mere human.
And not just any human.
A gorgeous and very brave one.
