Chapter 324: Chapter 166: An Investment Project Activated a Constitution?
"The Birth of the Next Phenomenal Casual Game—Capturing the 600-Million-Strong Casual Gaming Market!"
"Minimalist Controls, Simple Gameplay..."
What he’d picked up must have been the first few pages. A quick glance revealed it to be a PowerPoint presentation for a project proposal.
Chen Mo handed the pages he’d picked up to Jiang Huiyang.
"Thank you."
Jiang Huiyang took the proposal and straightened the pages.
"Are you an entrepreneur? This is your project?"
Chen Mo asked curiously.
’He already had a faint suspicion about the lucky turn this unfortunate incident was about to take.’
"Yeah, this is a little game my friends and I have been developing, but we’ve run out of money to keep going."
"So we’ve been splitting up to look for venture capital firms, hoping to attract an investor so we can finish development and launch the game."
"I guess our game is just too simple. The VCs all feel it has no potential. They don’t see any way to profit from it, so they’re not interested in our project."
Jiang Huiyang explained to Chen Mo, his tone a mix of dejection and self-mockery.
"I was just turned down by a VC firm, and my partners all reported getting rejected too. I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve been turned down now."
"I feel like our team can’t hold on much longer. That’s why I was in a daze and not paying attention. I didn’t see your car, and... that’s how I accidentally hit it."
He finished his explanation of why he’d hit Chen Mo’s car, his voice laced with disappointment.
Given their financial situation, they could probably only hold out for another day or two at most.
At that point, breaking up the team would be inevitable.
"Can I take a look at the proposal?"
Chen Mo listened patiently to his story before smiling and speaking.
’He already knew what the lucky break in this whole mess was going to be.’
’It was this project proposal!’
’Or more accurately, the project itself!’
"Go ahead, take a look."
Hearing this, Jiang Huiyang froze for a moment, then handed the proposal directly to Chen Mo.
’The team was about to fall apart anyway; this project was doomed to be left unfinished.’
’This thing was worthless now.’
’No, wait. If he sold all the printed copies for scrap paper, he might get a dime out of it?’
Chen Mo quickly skimmed through it. Jiang Huiyang was developing a casual puzzle game.
The gameplay was incredibly simple, easy enough for anyone from a young child to an elderly grandparent.
But just as the VC firms had assessed, the gameplay was simple, with no obvious potential and no clear path to profitability.
If Jiang Huiyang had taken this proposal to Panshi Venture Capital, he would have gotten the same response.
But Chen Mo thought differently. He felt this project could be profitable.
’It wasn’t that he’d spotted some hidden merit in the project that everyone else had missed, but because of his unique constitution.’
’It had already gone DING. When had his constitution ever let him down?’
’Even if this project looked utterly mundane, once his constitution was triggered, this god-like power of his would guarantee its success one way or another.’
’I was originally planning to wait for Xu Xiyue to make her move and use her talent to trigger my constitution. I never expected to stumble upon an opportunity myself.’
Chen Mo smiled to himself. ’Plans really can’t keep up with changes.’
’Still, this was good. The sooner he found a project and invested, the sooner he’d make a profit.’
’And wasn’t Xu Xiyue offering herself to him?’
’That part of the plan could be moved up, too.’
"I think your project is pretty good. It has investment potential."
Chen Mo handed the proposal back to Jiang Huiyang and said with a perfectly serious expression.
"You’ve got a good eye, sir! Too bad you’re not with a VC firm, haha."
At his words, Jiang Huiyang couldn’t help but laugh and make a lighthearted joke.
’To be honest, he didn’t have much confidence in the project himself.’
’Especially after being rejected by so many venture capitalists, his confidence was all but gone.’
’Chen Mo was probably just being polite.’
’After all, the guy wasn’t from a VC firm. It cost him nothing to praise the project to the high heavens.’
"How do you know I’m not?"
A small smile played on Chen Mo’s lips as he took out a business card and handed it over.
"General Manager of Panshi Venture Capital?"
Taking the card doubtfully, Jiang Huiyang glanced at the information on it. His eyes shot wide open, and he stared at Chen Mo in utter disbelief.
’The rich guy he’d zoned out and crashed into was actually the general manager of a venture capital firm?’
’And what’s more, after looking at his proposal, Chen Mo actually thought it was worth investing in?’
’He felt like he was on an emotional roller coaster. The ups and downs were just too extreme.’
’Just a moment ago, he’d been on the verge of despair, ready to find a 9-to-5 job after the team broke up.’
’He never expected such a sudden turn of events. Heaven had led him to Chen Mo—maybe this project could be saved after all!’
"President Chen, do you really think my project is worth investing in?"
He asked, looking at Chen Mo with a mixture of excitement, nervousness, and anticipation that he could barely contain.
’Before, he had just thought of Chen Mo as a kind-hearted rich guy.’
’But now, in his eyes, Chen Mo was a master talent scout with a unique vision.’
"Of course."
Chen Mo smiled and nodded.
"Look, this isn’t a good place to talk. We’re holding up traffic."
"Go to the 22nd floor of this building—to Panshi Venture Capital. We can discuss the project formally there."
After a moment’s thought, Chen Mo decided to have Jiang Huiyang head straight to the office.
’Since it had already gone DING, the project was a sure thing—all profit, no loss.’
’He might as well just lock this project down.’
"Okay, thank you, President Chen! I’ll head to Panshi Venture Capital right away!"
