Chapter 325: Chapter 166: An Investment Project Activated a Constitution?
Jiang Huiyang bowed repeatedly to thank him, the smile never leaving his face.
"Alright. I’ll see you at the company."
After saying this, Chen Mo opened his car door and got in.
He fastened his seatbelt, ready to drive into the underground garage.
Jiang Huiyang thoughtfully stood to the side, moving a fallen share-bike out of the way and clearing the path for Chen Mo.
Chen Mo smiled and drove into the garage.
Seeing Chen Mo’s car disappear from sight, Jiang Huiyang was so excited he jumped on the spot a few times.
He couldn’t help but throw a few punches at the air, as if to vent all the negative emotions from the recent rejections and setbacks.
Watching Jiang Huiyang—his suit still dusty—jumping around and punching the air, passersby shot him surprised looks, casting strange glances his way.
But Jiang Huiyang didn’t care in the slightest. After his brief outburst, he took out his phone and opened his team’s group chat.
"Everyone, I just ran into President Chen, the general manager of Panshi Venture Capital! He saw our project proposal and thinks it has investment value."
"President Chen told me to find him at Panshi Venture Capital. He wants to have a proper discussion with me about the project. Our project is saved!"
He couldn’t wait to share the good news in the group.
Even if this was a bit like popping the champagne at halftime, everyone desperately needed some good news to boost their morale and motivation.
Otherwise, he was afraid someone would suddenly post: "Let’s have a team dinner tonight."
Once they had that farewell dinner, there would truly be no going back.
"What? A VC firm acknowledged our project?"
"We might actually get funding for our project? That’s amazing!"
"Huiyang, you’re the man!"
"Hurry up and go, don’t keep President Chen waiting."
"We’ll head over too. We’ll wait for you downstairs."
Seeing Jiang Huiyang’s message, the others in the group all got excited.
They really couldn’t hold on much longer; some were even thinking of quitting.
But the news Jiang Huiyang just shared instantly reignited their confidence.
Hope and drive were rekindled in their hearts.
"Panshi Venture Capital? I think I saw some gossip about them a couple of days ago."
Just then, someone in the group seemed to remember something and typed a message.
"Huh? What gossip?"
Jiang Huiyang froze for a second, typing back with confusion.
"There’s a famous investor in the VC circle named Xu Xiyue. Long story short, every project she invests in dies."
"Both VC firms and entrepreneurs are terrified of her, afraid that any association will be a death sentence for their projects."
"A few days ago, she left Sky Dome Capital and just happened to join that Panshi Venture Capital you were talking about..."
Someone briefly explained the situation with Panshi Venture Capital and Xu Xiyue to the group.
"I heard the boss of Panshi Venture Capital opened it for his girlfriend, Xu Xiyue, just to give her a platform. It’s basically a hobby project."
Someone else who also knew the gossip chimed in.
Seeing these messages, the excitement and joy on Jiang Huiyang’s face vanished completely.
It was as if a bucket of cold water had been dumped over his head, his heart turning instantly to ice.
He felt like fate was playing another cruel joke on him.
He had finally, against all odds, found a VC firm that recognized his project.
But it turned out to be a hobby project, a company President Chen opened specifically for his girlfriend.
If President Chen’s girlfriend were normal, that would be one thing. But she was anything but.
Every project she invested in died.
She was the boogeyman of venture capital, the Investment Black Widow!
"So... is Huiyang still going?"
Someone asked uncertainly in the group chat.
"Go? Of course I’m going!"
"If I don’t go, we’ll be disbanded in the next two days. If I go, maybe we can struggle on for a while longer before we disband."
"Besides, what if we succeed?"
A determined look appeared in Jiang Huiyang’s eyes as he gritted his teeth and made his decision.
’So what if she’s the boogeyman? At least the boogeyman can give my project money. Without this money, the team can disband right now, and this project will never be completed. As long as they invest and the project can launch, at least I’ll have a fighting chance. Either way, it’s death. I’d rather die on the battlefield than die before I even get there. Besides, is that superstitious stuff really that powerful? What if our project is the one that succeeds?’
If he didn’t go, the team would disband immediately. If he went and successfully got the investment, there would be a sliver of hope, even if the outcome was likely to be the same.
He chose to bet on that sliver of hope.
Starting a business was a gamble, after all. If you lost, you just went and got a regular job. If you won, you took off.
"Huiyang’s right. We’re in this shitty of a state, and we’re being picky?"
"Exactly. They aren’t looking down on us, but here we are looking down on them. It’s completely backward."
Seeing Jiang Huiyang’s message, the others came to their senses.
Did they really have any right to be picky about VC firms? The fact that Panshi Venture Capital even gave their project a second glance was a stroke of incredible luck. And here they were, badmouthing Panshi Venture Capital. They really had no self-awareness.
"I’m not talking anymore. I’m heading upstairs."
Jiang Huiyang had already entered the building and was waiting for the elevator.
"Okay, good luck!"
Everyone encouraged him.
Jiang Huiyang put his phone in his pocket, dusted himself off, and straightened his clothes.
When the elevator doors opened, he walked in and pressed the button for the 22nd floor.
Panshi Venture Capital.
Chen Mo took the elevator directly from the underground garage to the office.
"An entrepreneur named Jiang Huiyang will be coming to the company soon. When he arrives, take him directly to the conference room."
Chen Mo said to the receptionist as he passed the front desk.
"Yes, President Chen!"
The receptionist immediately bowed slightly and answered respectfully.
"Good morning, President Chen!"
After he entered the main office, every employee who saw him greeted him respectfully.
"Morning."
Chen Mo nodded back at them.
Arriving in his office, he sat down and opened his WeChat chat with Xu Xiyue.
"Xiyue, I’ve scheduled a meeting with an entrepreneur. He’ll be at the office soon."
"Join me in the conference room in a bit to talk with him. I think this project can succeed."
Chen Mo sent the message to Xu Xiyue.
In Xu Xiyue’s office.
DING DING~
She was looking over a document when the notification sound from her computer made her look up.
She saw it was a WeChat message from Chen Mo.
"This project can succeed..."
After reading Chen Mo’s message, Xu Xiyue’s beautiful eyes widened in surprise.
Soon, an expression of unconcealable surprise and anticipation spread across her exquisite, flawless face.
Her breathing quickened, and the majestic peaks of her chest rose and fell in a spectacular display.
The project Chen Mo had told her about—the one that would guarantee her success within three months.
’Is it here already?’
