Chapter 323: Chapter 166: An Investment Project Activated a Constitution?

It was a good thing that the other guy was having some bad luck, of course.

But he still couldn’t help the strange expression that appeared on his face.

’This car is truly ill-fated.’

It hadn’t had a single peaceful day since he bought it.

First, Ai Yikun had smashed into it hard in a hotel’s underground parking garage.

Then, Tang Tianyu’s Lucky Cat got inside, and he had to get the car towed to a dealership and taken apart just to get it out.

And now, after all that, someone on a shared bike had run into its front end, right downstairs from his company building.

Granted, every time something happened, the final reward was far greater than his losses.

But he still felt the car was a little jinxed; the frequency of its bad luck was getting a bit high.

’The higher the frequency, the more I like it.’

Chen Mo couldn’t help but smile to himself.

If this happened so often to anyone else’s car, they’d definitely think it was cursed or somehow tainted.

They’d either let it gather dust in the garage or sell it off.

But for him, this was an absolute god-tier vehicle.

Every time his special constitution was activated, he reaped a considerable fortune.

But this wasn’t the time to think about all that. He unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the car door, and got out to check the situation.

Since there was a ’DING’, there was bound to be a lucky reversal.

Based on his experience, the reversal would most likely have something to do with the man on the bike who had just crashed into him.

He just didn’t know how it would manifest.

After getting out, he saw a young man sprawled on the ground, his shared bike toppled over beside him.

One of the wheels was still slowly spinning in the air.

Documents were scattered all over the ground—pages and pages of a printed PowerPoint presentation.

"Are you okay?"

Chen Mo walked over to him, crouched down slightly, and asked.

’A young guy like him should be fine after a small fall like that, right?’

"I... I’m okay. I’m so sorry, so sorry. I was distracted and accidentally crashed into your car..."

Jiang Huiyang fumbled to pick up his glasses from the ground and put them back on. Then, pushing himself into a sitting position with his hands, he hurriedly apologized to Chen Mo.

His eyes and tone were filled with worry and despair.

He was worried because he had glanced at the front of Chen Mo’s car.

The shared bike had scraped off some paint, and a slight dent was visible.

He’d crashed his bike into someone’s car, which meant he would definitely have to pay for the damages.

And since he didn’t have insurance, he’d have to pay out of his own pocket.

But one look at Chen Mo’s car told him it wasn’t cheap. Paying for this would likely cost more than just a little bit of money.

He was despairing because he had already failed so miserably in life.

And now fate had to play a cruel joke on him by having him crash into a sports car.

It felt like he was being backed into a corner with no way out.

’Do I really have to give up on my dream and just get a normal, honest job?’

"You’re okay? If you’re okay, please stand up."

Chen Mo saw people starting to look their way, so he asked him to get up first.

Otherwise, with him sitting on the ground, people might think he had been seriously injured in the crash.

Even though he had dashcam footage as proof, some things could still waste a lot of time and require you to prove your innocence, evidence or not.

"Oh, right."

Jiang Huiyang mumbled his assent and quickly got to his feet.

Just as Chen Mo had thought, what could possibly happen to a young man in his early twenties from a simple fall off a shared bike?

He hadn’t been going fast when he hit the car.

If he hadn’t been distracted, he could have easily put his feet down to stabilize himself and probably wouldn’t have fallen at all.

"Sir, this is my fault. I’ll cover the cost of the repairs."

"It’s just... I’m a little tight on cash right now. Could I get your contact info? I can write you a formal promise to pay."

"I’ll definitely pay you back as soon as I have the money. What do you think, sir?"

Jiang Huiyang apologized to Chen Mo with a sincere tone and a remorseful expression, promising to compensate him.

It was just a promise of future compensation, however.

It wasn’t an excuse to avoid paying; he genuinely didn’t have the money.

"That’s fine."

Hearing this, Chen Mo shook his head slightly.

Sometimes, a person’s attitude is more important than the money.

Jiang Huiyang had immediately apologized, admitted it was his fault, and offered to pay for the damages.

He might not have the money right now, but his honest attitude and willingness to take responsibility were admirable.

He hadn’t tried to act like a scoundrel, deny responsibility, and then turn around and falsely accuse Chen Mo of hitting him.

A situation like that would have been infuriating.

Regardless of anything else, Jiang Huiyang’s attitude at least put him at ease.

He took a look. It was really just a bit of scraped-off paint and a small dent.

Right after he’d gotten the car, he would have immediately taken it to the dealership for the full repair and repaint package.

But now, seeing the damage barely registered.

It was a feeling most car owners would understand.

Of course, the damages still had to be paid for. He wasn’t that much of a bleeding heart.

"Thank you so much!"

When Jiang Huiyang saw Chen Mo agree, he breathed a sigh of relief and bowed repeatedly in thanks.

"Sir, my name is Jiang Huiyang. This is my ID. You can take a picture of it."

"This is my phone number, and my WeChat..."

Jiang Huiyang then took out his ID card, insisting Chen Mo take a picture of it.

His attitude was truly impeccable.

They exchanged phone numbers and added each other on WeChat, and Chen Mo took a picture of his ID.

Chen Mo wasn’t too concerned about any of that, though. He was wondering how Jiang Huiyang was going to bring about his lucky reversal.

Once that was done, Chen Mo noticed him crouching down to pick up the documents scattered all over the ground.

’Could this be related?’

Chen Mo glanced down and saw that the papers seemed to be printed-out slides from a PowerPoint presentation.

So, he crouched down to help him pick them up.

As he gathered the pages, he took a closer look at their content.
