Chapter 2933: Alliance
Chapter 2933: Alliance
Minos and Devdar were soon in a hall alongside the cream of the Divine Path—six level 126 and two level 127 Celestials, the strongest in the faction after Devdar himself.
Sitting around an oval table, the nine members of the Divine Path were face to face with Minos. Except for Devdar, all the others had serious looks in Minos' direction, still shaken by the sudden choice of a newbie to leave their faction and then come to them in search of an alliance.
The point that makes these powerful beings even more tense was how Devdar seemed to accept Minos' move and even welcomed him to the faction headquarters as if he were a companion of great importance.
"Minos Stuart, why did you act so arrogantly? Do you know what consequences we will all face for what you have done in your domain?" Asked one of the two women, a Deity with long green hair and silver clothes. She stood up and pointed a finger at Minos. "As much as you said you created your own faction, the Divine Path is the one who will pay for your words directly!"
Minos looked not only at the woman who had put herself in the speaking position, but at the entire group. He was sure his senior would support him in what he had to negotiate, but these others were too powerful and too old to accept him so suddenly. Devdar accepting him might have been enough, but neither Devdar nor Minos felt things would be better that way.
Minos answered the question of the level 127 Deity who asked him, but also the doubts of the others, using the language that these beings understood best. As he released his aura and took a step closer to the group, his eyes shone as they focused on the woman with the long, green hair.
The pressure on the group increased tremendously in an instant, but before they understood what was happening, the Deity cultivation on Devdar's left dropped to the beginning of level 126, while Minos' cultivation exploded, reaching the middle of level 128!
The eyes of almost all the True Celestials there with Minos and Devdar opened wide, while the faction leader closed his eyes and shook his head, smiling bitterly. 'That's the heights Minos has reached…' He thought, wondering how strong his ultimate heir would be, since, even without such a 'trick', Minos was already stronger than him.
Minos finally used his verbal communication, "It's only natural that your rivals think my actions reflect Divine Path decisions. I'm only a novice in the Upper Realm, a newly promoted True Celestial. But make no mistake, it won't be long before this thinking changes. So are you going to disassociate yourself from my group, suffer the initial negative consequences and then miss out on the subsequent benefits of being on my side? I don't think so. That's why I'm here now to sort out an alliance!"
Minos pointed toward the green-haired Deity, "As the lady said, you will suffer for my actions one way or another. In that case, walk side by side with us from the Ancestral Cult in our crusade. When we achieve our victories, we'll share the credit for our efforts!"
Now that he had shown himself for what he really was, no one had the courage to stand up and question him. While the green-haired woman felt weak, her face completely red, the others silently swallowed their saliva. Only Devdar and the subordinate who had accompanied him throughout the inheritance in which Minos had taken part remained calm.
The level 127 man, Devdar's oldest subordinate and the only one without a throne in the room, asked, "What does Master Minos intend to do now? What exactly are your objectives?"
Devdar was curious about that, too. He thought, 'Minos probably wants to win some thrones and direct them to his wives.'
Minos answered bluntly, confident he would leave later with a formalized alliance. "I want to formalize my departure from the faction. Then, we formalize our alliance, with the aim of extending our domains. The focus will be on my territory, but I'm not greedy. I will share the spoils of our conquests with you. I have the strength, while you have the knowledge and strategies that will work best with my qualities."
No one found Minos' words arrogant. Everyone now fully believing he was capable of saying such confident words after having just entered the realm.
"All I need now is to stabilize the position I've announced to the rest of the realm. You won't even have to move after that and you'll be able to share in the results of my efforts!"
Minos' eyes sparkled as he thought about his hunt for Devils and disputes against other Entitled Deities. In his eyes, his throne number would quickly go from one to a few dozen!
'In a few centuries, the rest of the family will be at my side. At that time, we will live in peace as the biggest and strongest family of all the existence!'
As Minos thought, listening to the curious murmurs, with some projecting into the future and wondering where they might end up in this arrangement, Devdar stood up and showed one of his hands, making the gesture of Minos' homeworld.
"I agree with this alliance," said the golden-haired man, before shaking one of Minos' hands. But Devdar wasn't just thinking about the benefits ahead. "But it won't be that easy. When the others notice how strong you are, they'll join in to pressure you and stop you. Even hunting Devils will be more difficult than you might think right now."
"I'm aware. That's why I'm going to get ahead of myself and get my men into action now. I hope to have a few extra thrones before the rest of the dimension realizes that my position is more solid than a palace of cards," Minos said with a determined smile.
"By the time they realize it, I'll be close to level 127 in fact, not just by borrowing someone else's cultivation base." Minos glanced at the green-haired woman, while showing one of his clenched fists confidently. "Then, not even His Excellency Lydis will be my opponent!"
Even Devdar couldn't say anything to that, remaining silent along with the rest of the room, not daring to say anything about the strongest in the dimension. But they didn't doubt Minos. If there was anyone capable of saying those words, it was surely Minos!
"What are you getting at, senior?" One of them suddenly asked.
"Not far from where I am now. When I reach the peak of existence, I'll live without looking around anymore." Minos closed his eyes, imagining himself in that position in the not-too-distant future. "Until then, I'll compete a little more with the rest of you."
