She had blue eyes, blue horns, and long, white hair with a blue shade.

I pointed at her. "Hey, Nyx, why does she have horns? Is she a demon?"

I got my sword ready, and she became frightened because she had seen how brutally I killed the elves.

She immediately waved her hand. "I’m not a demon! Can’t you recognize my race?"

My eyes twitched. "Why? Is your race some kind of celebrity or something?"

She thought for a moment and nodded.

I looked at her and nodded back. "Ah, that’s why I don’t know you. I don’t follow celebrities."

She almost stumbled to the ground.

Nyx hit my head. "You idiot! She’s a dragon kin!"

I looked at her and asked, "Are you sure she belongs to the same race as that lizard we defeated?"

Nyx really wanted to hit me now.

"You imbecile! That’s a dragon! Can’t you see they’re proud creatures? Don’t just go around calling them lizards!"

I looked at her. "So what? I don’t care."

The dragon girl spoke. "Aren’t you afraid our race will come after you?"

"We don’t take disgrace lightly."

I just yawned. "So what? Another new enemy to deal with. It won’t make any difference at all."

Nyx just sighed. "You’re hopeless."

Then Nyx looked at the dragon girl and asked, "What are you doing here...?"

"Ah, never mind. You can go..."

Her eyes widened, and she said, "Can you escort me to my home? I lost them."

Before Nyx could say anything, I spoke.

"Do you see me as a babysitter or something? I have no time for that. I’m busy."

Nyx looked at me, speechless.

"Busy... busy with what?"

I said proudly, "I have to cuddle with you, of course."

Both the dragon girl and Nyx almost stumbled to the ground.

Nyx looked at me. "You..."

I just grinned, but the next moment, my grin disappeared.

"Nyx, we’re not babysitters. We came to the tower to get stronger, so we have to do that. We don’t have time to go around searching for lost parents."

The dragon girl’s eyes widened.

"Hey, who are you implying is a child? Look, I’m as tall as your female companion!"

My eyes twitched as I said, "It’s nothing to do with appearance. I stated facts. You’re the one who asked us to find your parents."

She shut up. She wanted to say it was because she was still weak, but her pride wouldn’t allow it. Even asking for help was extremely difficult for her. Her pride as a dragon wouldn’t let her admit her weakness.

Nyx observed this and looked at me.

"You’re right, Asher. We’re not babysitters, but can we help her?"

I looked at her with wide eyes because Nyx wasn’t the charitable type.

But then again, it was her choice. I couldn’t be selfish, so I nodded.

"Okay, fine. Let’s go."

Nyx nodded with a smile and looked at the dragon girl.

"So, do you know where your parents are? We can take you there."

She scratched her head.

"Aaa, about that... I have no idea. I got separated from them while searching for them."

My eyes twitched, but I shut up and let Nyx handle it.

Nyx said, "Hmm, it’s okay, then. How about you travel with us?"

She nodded. "Hmm, thank you for helping me."

She didn’t say she was helpless or had nowhere to turn. Those were words for asking for pity, and her pride as a dragon never allowed her to use them.

Then Nyx asked, "So, what’s your race’s specialty?"

She blinked and asked, "You really don’t know? But you recognized my appearance and knew I was a dragon kin."

Nyx nodded. "I read about your race and saw a picture, but that book only had information about your race’s personality and traits."

She nodded and said, "It’s our mana. We have an insane amount of mana, and our mana is purer than that of other races."

"The only race that has mana as pure as ours is the elves, but even then, only the highest-level elves can match us."

Nyx nodded, and we walked together.

Meanwhile, my eyes twitched.

’That dragon girl stole my Nyx.’

I glared at her.

Nyx introduced me to her.

"This is Asher. He’s my partner."

The dragon girl nodded. "My name is Azera. It’s nice to meet you."

I extended a hand and shook hers.

Then we moved on, and Azera asked, "So, what’s your name?"

She looked at me in surprise.

"I thought you already heard it. This guy mentioned it several times. My name is Nyx."

Azera nodded. "Hmm, it’s a nice name."

Nyx smiled. "Your name is nice as well."

I asked from the side, "So, do you know about the tower? How did you come here?"

She nodded.

"Yes. When our world got infected by Corruption, the tower appeared out of nowhere and gave us a fair chance to battle against it."

"Our race is born strong, so we didn’t train like other races. When the apocalypse hit our world, most of us died, and only the dragons, who were the strongest among us, remained."

"But even we need the help of the tower to overcome this apocalypse."

Nyx nodded as I devoured all this new knowledge.

"So, your world got hit by it, and those creepy monsters came after your race too."

She looked at me in confusion and nodded.

"Yeah, they come after everyone. No one is spared. Even the demons are in the same boat."

My eyes twitched.

"Then what the fuck are they doing? Despite trying to climb the tower, they’re killing other races!"

She nodded.

"Yeah, they think there’s no saving the real world, so they plan to conquer the tower and make it their kingdom."

Nyx and I listened to her. This was new information for us.

Then I understood why the demons were doing what they were doing, why the academy sent us to the tower, and many other things.

But I asked her, "But the tower is an unknown place. How can they just stay here forever?"

Azera just shrugged.

"What do you think about the real world? It’s also in a state of destruction, so it doesn’t matter to the demons. If they have a place to conquer, they’ll do it. They’re just like that."

I nodded at that and asked the most important question.

"How did you get lost?"

She had been waiting for this question and said, "You can’t really say I got separated by accident."

"When my parents came to the tower, I was still young. I finally entered the tower, and I’m still searching for them."

My eyes and mouth both twitched at the same time.

"Nyx, do you really want to help her? I’ve got a feeling I should kill her and make barbecue."

"She doesn’t know anything about her parents, and she just asked us to find them."

Then I looked at her and asked, "Do you see me as Sherlock Holmes?"

She blinked. "Who?"

I just waved a hand. "Ahh, forget it."

Nyx smiled at that and said, "Asher, we have to help her. She gave us so much information."

I just snorted. "We can get that information by finding someone and beating them half to death."

Nyx’s eyes twitched, but she stuck to her decision. I just relented and said fine.

Then I asked, "So, do you know how to climb the tower?"

She nodded.

My eyes brightened as she said, "You just climb like we’re going along this road, but on the upper floors, the monsters are stronger, and the rewards are better as well."

Nyx asked, "Is there loot like on the previous levels when we climb a floor?"

She shook her head.

"On each floor, there are events and loot hidden inside. If we want loot, we have to find it and earn it."

Nyx nodded and asked, "So, Azera, thank you for the information. Do you want something to eat as a treat?"

Her eyes lit up, and she nodded.

Nyx took out a few barbecue sticks and gave them to her.

My eyes widened as I demanded, "I want them too!"

Nyx just smiled and, as if giving them to a child, gave me one as well. Then she took one and began to eat.

Azera looked at the scene, and she too began to eat her barbecue stick.

She nodded with satisfaction.

"Hmm, tasty!"

Then we continued to travel in the road i keep a eye on if someone come towards us.

If anyone dere to attack they walking into their deaths.

Azera ask then "so what’s your story i told mine tell me you’re story as well."

Then we briefly told her about our world and our situation in the world.

It’s mostly nyx talking while i ate remaining bbq sticks.

Azera show it and grab few from me i glare at her but didn’t do anything.
