Nyx glared at me. "So now what are we going to do?"

I looked at the shop and said, "That old man is jealous of my greatness. A bitter old man. Let’s go to a different location."

Then I went to the shop again and kicked the door.

The old man glared at me. I glared back. Who’s afraid of whom? Did this old man think I’m a sucker or something?

We went back and forth until we met at 25%.

I nodded. "What do you know, old man? Behold the true power of this."

I turned it into a different kind of weapon and said, "This can get stronger by killing enemies and absorb their abilities."

The old man’s eyes widened. "When did you get that?"

I stopped him and said, "I’ll tell you after you give me my item with the discount."

He frowned and gave me an armor catalogue.

I looked at Nyx. "Hey, can you help me choose one?"

She nodded and looked at them and chose a bronze-quality one.

The old man’s eyes widened. "Hey, girl. It’s close to 150k merit. It’s only for show. I never intended to sell it. It’s to give new students determination."

I looked at him sceptically. "Then why have I never seen that before, old man? You never gave me determination or whatever it’s called. I don’t care. You never gave me that."

The old man looked at me disdainfully and said, "Determination for you? Who do you think I am, brat? If you had more determination than now you would basically rob this place, and I’m not sure you’d leave me my clothes."

I waved a hand. "Eww. I don’t need an old man’s clothes anyway."

A black line appeared on his head.

Then I said, "I don’t care either way. This is what my girlfriend chose, so I will get it. Give it to me."

His eyes twitched.

Nyx didn’t say anything.

I looked at Nyx and took her hand. "It’s time for our escape, Nyx. Run."

Then we came out from the shop, and I looked at smiling Nyx. "See? Isn’t that fun, scamming that old man?"

She just placed a hand on her head and said, "So what are we going to do about my points?"

Then I realized she has points as well. I turned to the shop. "How about we buy a sword?"

She looked at me, speechless, and dragged me away. "If you anger that old man anymore you’ll kill him by blood pressure."

I just grinned, and we found a normal shop and got a sword for Nyx. I tried to haggle, but Nyx dragged me away, but I succeeded in haggling an 80k sword down to 60k. I’m the best.

I said to Nyx, "Hey, how about you give me two lip kisses for my efforts? The previous one and this one, so we can call it even."
