Chapter 61: Chapter 61 - tower or new world?

Me and nyx walk to the tower inlook at her and said "no matter what happens we need to survive so as soon as we enter let’s make the sense of the situation."

She nodded "hmm that’s make sense let’s stay together as always and if we move when battle always try to come closer as soon as possible if we separate it’s our death."

A grim face appears on my face and i nodded.

We went to the tower, and I looked at the familiar interface for entering the tower.

[Welcome back to the Tower of Ascension]

[Do you wish to enter the 11th floor of the tower?]

[Yes / No]

I pressed the Yes button as usual, and I got to choose.

[Do you wish to enter solo, duo, or squad?]

I pressed duo, found Nyx’s name at the top, pressed it, and selected Yes.

As soon as I did that, a portal opened and dragged us into it.

It’s a familiar feeling now.

While we were in the darkness, I thought about what kind of thing was there for us this time.

We don’t have to stay much longer. We entered through an interface that said:

[If you desire to exit the tower, you have to find exit locations or use external items.]

[Tower floor systems until now. This is the first trial for your journey. Welcome to the Tower World.]

Then everything went dark again.

Which bastard cut the light?

Then we appeared in a completely different world. I looked around and saw Nyx. A grin appeared as I went and hugged her.

She had just appeared in another world and suddenly felt a hug. Not forcefully, just a shameless hug.

She immediately knew who it was, so she pushed me away.

"Go away, scoundrel."

I put on a hurt face and said, "I just confirmed you are real. What if this tower makes an illusion?"

Her eyes twitched.

"An illusion? Why can’t you touch my shoulder?"

I said with a righteous face, "What if the tower makes a real kind of illusion that light touch can feel?"

"So I tested by borrowing your warmth, and I confirmed you are real."

"See? I’m a genius."

She just put a hand on her forehead and sighed.

"You are impossible."

Then I felt something. I immediately summoned my sword with Slime and saw an arrow coming at me. I immediately turned the sword into a shield and blocked the arrow.

Nyx’s eyes narrowed, and we both moved in the direction the arrow came from and searched for the attacker.

But we didn’t find anyone, so we gathered together in one spot.

"Hey, let’s move away from this place. We don’t know how many enemies there are, and even if we can win against them, we basically don’t have any clues about this place. The other party is familiar with this place, so we are at a massive disadvantage."

Nyx nodded, and we moved away from the forest while keeping our perception up. We are almost close to maxing our attributes at 1,000, so we are a lot stronger than before.

We moved through the darkness.

I learned it from shadow users. I always wondered if I could do it too, but now I have my answer.

I can.

Then Nyx saw my actions and tried to imitate it. With her control and many battles’ experience, it came naturally to her. She also has some kind of physique that can adapt to things. She mentioned it to me before, but at that time, I was admiring her beauty, so I totally missed it.

Then we finally came out from the massive forest, and I looked up.

What I saw shook me to the core.

A floating island.

No, that can’t be an island. It’s a whole continent or more. I can’t seem to find the ending.

I looked around and saw that the dark forest we had come from was massive as well.

But we couldn’t enjoy the moment much longer. A beast attacked us out of nowhere.

It was an injured one, so I managed to avoid its attack. Nyx didn’t wait. She used her new sword and attacked it with everything she had.

But, to our surprise, it only managed to injure the creature.

Then I went at it with my newly made sword and plunged it into the already existing injury.

The massive creature screamed.

It’s massive, as big as that overgrown lizard.

But even that attack only managed to deepen the injury, so I got an idea and said, "Hey, Nyx, keep this creature occupied for a moment."

She didn’t say anything, but I knew she was going to do as I asked.

I prepared my plan and made a scythe, coating it with black flame and Aura. I combined black flame and Aura together, and it’s stronger.

Then I saw Nyx go at the monster with her sword and distract it. This monster is a corrupted beast, but only half-corrupted. That’s why it can still feel pain, but we can’t put an exact name to this beast.

And because of the corruption, it lost its mind and became just a wild beast.

Nyx’s distraction worked as I jumped onto the creature’s back and put the scythe coated with my black flame and Aura into its neck and pulled as hard as I could.

Nyx saw that and understood the plan, so she attacked the monster with an ice shard and dragged its head with a dark vine.

With both of our efforts, its head broke off.

And we both got a notification.

[Congratulations. You have killed a Bronze Level 1 Demon Beast (Half-Corrupted).]

[You have gained 100,000 EXP.]

[Congratulations!]

[Level Up!]

[Level: 86 → 96]

[Reward: 32 Free Attribute Points]

My eyes widened at that, and I saw Nyx’s reaction.

"Did you get the same?"

She nodded.

"We are a party, so kills we get together are given to both of us."

I nodded.

I then used my bloodline ability on this demon beast.

[Devoured 20 Strength]

[Devoured 17 Agility]

[Devoured 10 Intelligence]

[Devoured part of the Demon Bloodline]

My eyes widened again as I felt my darkness abilities increase massively.

And some of my attributes are maxed, so the extra points turned into free attributes I can distribute.

This is too OP.

So I put all of my attributes in place.

Strength: 999

Agility: 999

Vitality: 930 → 968

Mana: 999

Spirit: 967

Intelligence: 920 → 950

Perception: 974

Luck: ???

I looked at them in awe at the sight. I’m close to maxing my attributes.

Then I gave the core of the beast to Nyx.

She said she got a skill from it to make a Darkness Root.

My eyes widened.

"Do cores give skills now?"

She looked at me strangely.

"They always give skills. Didn’t you know? But it’s a little rare."

My eyes twitched.

"I only used a small amount of cores, so I didn’t know."

She nodded, and we moved out. We couldn’t risk something like this coming after us. We only managed to take this thing down because it was injured, got corrupted, and lost its independence.

We found a village after traveling a few kilometers.

I immediately said, "Let’s go to this village as normal people."

But I stopped again and said, "Cover our heads and make sure no one can see us. It’s better this way."

The entrance asked for gold coins. I had plenty, so I gave them two for each of us and entered the village.

We saw many people who had different features, like horns, long ears, and many more different things, like tails.

We ignored them. If we looked at them in awe like fools, we would immediately get caught, so we went to find a tavern to find something to eat.

I saw many different kinds of food, but I just ordered two meat dishes. No one cared that we hid our faces. It’s normal around this town.

So after taking our dishes from a person who had horns, we went to find a table.

I looked at Nyx.

"This place is bizarre. We don’t know anything, and we didn’t see any humans, so don’t take that off. If they find out our race and they have some grudges against us, we’re done."

She smiled and nodded.

"Did you look around the city and see all the races here? And that demon beast we killed on the lower floors had Darkness."

"So we can presume other races have their own specialties."

I grumbled, "So what about what specialty we have? We are lame when compared to them."

She laughed and said, "Don’t misunderstand us. We might have something, but just because we were born with it, it might be normal for us. That’s why we didn’t know."

"We can’t say other races have all the things we have as well, so we can’t say we aren’t special."

I nodded at that while eating.
