I finally stretched my arms. Ahh, finally the lizard is dead. Now we can exit this damn building.

I looked at Nyx with expectation and asked, "Hey, Nyx, where is my promised kiss now that the lizard is finally dead?"

She just put a hand on her forehead. "That’s a dragon, you idiot."

She just sighed. "I can convince a rock better than you."

I nodded. "Yeah. Rocks can’t talk, so of course you can convince them."

I looked at her disdainfully and said, "Don’t pick on helpless rocks. I knew you are evil, but I didn’t know it goes this deep. I have to be careful."

Her eyes twitched. "You..."

She chased me. I ran for my life and stopped at the exit. "See, Nyx? We can go to the exit. Isn’t that great? Let’s go."

But I feel I forgot something important. What could it be?

Nyx looked at the exit door and me, then she glared at me and went to the door.

Then I remembered that something I forgot. "Oh, I remember. Where is my kiss?"

Then she went to the exit door.

She left me behind. I looked at her disappearing back and smiled.

Ah, I’m loving this. Then I exited as well from the door.

Then a barrage of notifications appeared.

I looked at the three rewards, and a gambling mindset appeared in my mind. Before I even had a chance to think, I chose the slime.

And then I got out from the tower. I blinked. "Ah, that’s it? Hey, you stinky tower, at least give me some attribute fruits and healing potions. Don’t be stingy."

Then Nyx appeared beside me as well and saw me cursing at the tower. Subconsciously a small smile appeared on her face.

"Why are you cursing at the tower?"

I pointed a finger at the tower and said, "This damn tower, after all of that, gave me one reward and left. Heartless tower."

She just chuckled and said, "The tower is supposed to be heartless."

I glared at her and said, "That’s not the point. So what did you get?"

She said, "I got three choices and I chose a bronze-rank armor."

I nodded, and Nyx asked, "So what did you choose?"

I showed her a grin and said exaggeratedly, "I chose a unique ultimate unparalleled reward."

Her eyes twitched. "What now?"

I said, "It’s a slime."

She blinked, confused. "What now? A slime?"

I nodded. "Yeah, slime. Why are you looking at me like that?"

She just looked at me, dumbfounded. "So your unique ultimate reward is a slime?"

I corrected her. "No. Unique ultimate unparalleled."

Her eyes twitched and she asked, "So tell me, what does your unique ultimate unparalleled reward do?"

I scratched my head awkwardly. "I don’t know. I just saw it’s a unique reward, so I chose it."

She just looked at me. A big question mark hung over her head.

I looked at Nyx. "Hey, are you okay? Did my unparalleled item’s greatness make you dumbfounded?"

Her eyes twitched and she said, "So correct me if I’m wrong. You know nothing about the reward, it’s a slime, and you just picked it because you saw ’unique’?"

I thought about it for a moment, and her statement is right, so I nodded my head. "Yeah. That’s correct information."

She felt like she can’t handle me anymore. She felt like going to her room and sleeping so tomorrow she can handle me.

So she took a deep breath and said, "Please check what it can do before I beat you up."

I looked at her fierce look and said, "Okay, okay. Calm down. Don’t get angry. It’s not a big deal. How about you give me that kiss so your anger can calm down?"

This moment she didn’t feel embarrassed like last time. A black line appeared on her forehead.

"You check it or get a beating."

"All right, all right. I’ll check. Be careful in the future. You’ll get old soon."

She kept reading and fully understood the weapon and its usefulness, and a small chuckle escaped her mouth. She remembered how hard I bargained with that old man to get that sword. Now I don’t have to do that. I have an ever-changing weapon.

Then she looked at my smug expression that was begging to be punched.

Then she exhaled and thought about what would happen if she praised his weapon.

She can imagine how smug I can be and start mumbling nonsense, so she looked at me and said, "Hm. Not bad. You got lucky this time. It’s a good weapon."

My eyes twitched. "Hey, don’t insult my great intuition. It’s nothing to do with luck. Do you understand?"

She just sighed and nodded and said, "Okay, okay. How about we go to the academy and eat something and go to sleep? I’m tired."

And I felt something entering my body. It felt like mana. I felt I can control them.

Her eyes twitched, but she came and took a look at the ability. Her mouth opened and closed, then she muttered, "This is so unfair."

I puffed out my chest and grinned wider.

Nyx just shook her head, but she didn’t argue this time. The slime floating near my hand pulsed once, almost like it agreed with me.

We started walking again toward the academy portal. My shoulder still ached a little from the earlier fights, but the new weapon made everything feel worth it.
