Chapter 1028 - Ah Tai VS Gu Feng

Gu Feng flew through the sky on the Calamity Crossbird. With its speed, shaking Han Wu’s pursuit wouldn’t be a problem. He was glad that he managed to escape with his life, but the Destruction Clan’s annihilation still gnawed at his heart.

“Han Wu, I will make you pay in blood. I swear!” Gu Feng hissed.

The oath had barely left his lips when a powerful gust of wind slammed into him from behind. He spun around and saw an enormous silhouette hurtling toward him. As it drew closer, he made out its shape. It was a colossal bird, at least 100,000 meters across.

He had only seen something that enormous minutes ago, when he faced the Mythic Titan. Its transformation was so drastic that he didn’t recognize it as the same creature.

Ah Tai flapped its wings hard and closed the distance. Gu Feng assumed it was some powerful figure’s Summoned Beast passing through and paid it no mind. However, Ah Tai’s mission was to eliminate Gu Feng. It struck without hesitation, swinging its diamond-feathered fist at the Calamity Crossbird.

The punch’s sheer force reversed the airflow around them, and the Calamity Crossbird spun through the air several times before it finally stabilized.

Gu Feng eyed the Mythic Titan warily as he demanded, “I don’t know whose Summoned Beast you are, but I have no quarrel with you. Why the ambush?”

Ah Tai didn’t care what Gu Feng had to say. It charged forward and unleashed punch after punch. None connected cleanly with the Calamity Crossbird, but the wind pressure from each swing sealed off every escape route.

Gu Feng ordered the Calamity Crossbird to counterattack. With each beat of its wings, feathers infused with Destruction Energy and the Dark Jurisdiction’s power shot toward Ah Tai. The latter activated its Diamond Jurisdiction and formed a solid protective layer that deflected every feather.

The familiar energy gave it away. Gu Feng finally recognized the creature before him as the same Mythic Titan that had leveled Wildlion City with a single stomp.

Cold sweat broke out across his body. The Mythic Titan’s power had already exceeded anything he had imagined. If he didn’t go all out now, he would definitely die here. The Destruction Clan’s revival remained unfinished, so he refused to die. He had to survive and carry on the clan’s hope.

Gu Feng stopped hesitating and channeled his Dark Jurisdiction, pushing through the Beast Tamer Civilization’s suppression to summon a vast expanse of darkness. It spread outward like a bottomless abyss until it completely engulfed the Mythic Titan.

“Sink into the abyss!” Gu Feng screamed.

He had no way to kill the Mythic Titan outright. The best he could do was use the Dark Jurisdiction’s special technique to imprison it first.

Ah Tai fought to break free, but the harder it struggled, the faster it sank. By the time it realized it was being sealed, sensation had faded from the lower half of its body.

“Brute force alone can’t break this Dark Realm. Submit quietly and let the darkness consume you,” Gu Feng said.

He was hoping that the Mythic Titan would sink completely into his Dark Realm, where he would convert it into his own unit.

Unfortunately, he underestimated Han Wu’s core race. As a unit evolved from locusts, Ah Tai was sheltered by Han Wu’s divine realm Core. The bond between them was unbreakable.

Since raw strength couldn’t free it, Ah Tai did something that defied Gu Feng’s comprehension. It reached into its own chest, ripped out its heart, and shoved it into its mouth. It chewed, and blood sprayed everywhere.

Gu Feng stared in disbelief. Is this thing an idiot?It’s tearing out its own heart to kill itself?

Gu Feng sighed and was about to dismiss the Dark Realm when Ah Tai radiated a wave of overwhelming pressure. Ah Tai wasn’t dead. It had activated Devour Heart, a gift bestowed by Han Wu’s divine realm Core to all units of his core race. It increased its strength by consuming a heart, and more importantly, the heart could be its own.

Devour Heart doubled its strength, and the Dark Realm shook violently under Ah Tai’s intensified thrashing. It was going to burst!

Gu Feng and the Calamity Crossbird frantically poured more Dark Energy into stabilizing it.

“For a life form like you that can only use brute force, the Dark Realm is something you can never hope to overcome for your entire life! Succumb to the Dark Realm and become my unit!”

Gu Feng admired Ah Tai with every passing moment. He could already envision converting it into his own unit and using it to attack Han Wu. Nothing in this world would be more satisfying than that!

Unfortunately for him, Han Wu’s Core granted his core race another ability besides Devour Heart. The Light Spirit Orb could convert all of a unit’s physical strength into Light Energy.

With no other options left, Ah Tai activated it. As Light Energy poured out, the Dark Realm beneath the Mystic Titan weakened under the intense glow.

Ah Tai immediately understood what was happening. Light and darkness were natural opposites. As long as the light was strong enough, it could neutralize the Dark Jurisdiction’s power. In the next instant, Ah Tai hurled the huge ball of Light Energy downward.

Light Energy and Dark Energy annihilated each other on contact, and Ah Tai broke free. The moment it regained its freedom, it gathered every last scrap of its remaining strength into a 10,000-meter-wide orb and launched it at Gu Feng.

At that range, with an attack of that size and the force behind Ah Tai’s throw, Gu Feng had no room to dodge. He and the Calamity Crossbird poured every drop of their Dark Energy into resisting it, but it wasn’t enough. The massive attack obliterated their defenses.

Purified by the light, they plummeted from the sky. Gu Feng wasn’t dead, but he soon would be.
