The People's God: Sacrificing Trillions to Ascend

Chapter 1027 - The Future Looks Bright

Gu Feng radiated dense Dark Energy as he rode his strongest core race unit, the Subcosm Calamity Crossbird.

A massive army of units brimming with Destruction and Dark Energy trailed behind him. Wherever they passed, the skeleton sea struggled to hold its ground.

When Gu Feng reached its edge and saw the three of them, he snarled, “It’s you!”

His hatred for Han Wu ran bone-deep. After the divine war, he’d learned how the Life God King had died. The Source of Destruction was the source of his defeat, and Han Wu was the one who had used it, killing the Life God King and shattering the Destruction Clan’s chance of returning to the stage.

Gu Feng never considered that part of the blame lay with him. If he hadn’t lost the Source of Destruction during his fight with the Death God King, the Life God King would never have died to it. He refused to acknowledge that and directed all of his hatred toward Han Wu instead.

“Elder Gu, we meet again,” Han Wu said calmly.

He wasn’t the same Han Wu who would cower under the Destruction Clan’s threats. Now, he had every right to speak to Gu Feng as an equal.

“You bastard. I haven’t even settled the score with you yet, and here you come knocking on my door. Fine! Old debts and new ones, we’ll settle them all today!” Gu Feng snapped.

His Calamity Crossbird immediately attacked. Feathers laced with Destruction and Dark Energy rained down on Han Wu like a storm.

Every feather carried a chance to trigger an execution effect. If any of them triggered, even Han Wu would die.

However, Han Wu had already prepared a counter. The Mythic Titan roared behind him, and a barrier made entirely of diamond materialized to shield everyone on his side.

The Calamity Crossbird’s feathers struck the diamond barrier. Even with the Dark Jurisdiction’s power behind them, they couldn’t corrode through a barrier infused with the Diamond Jurisdiction’s power. Every last feather was blocked.

Han Wu smiled. The Mythic Titan was exactly the right choice for dealing with Gu Feng.

“Ah Tai, go give that bird a taste of what you can do,” he commanded.

Ah Tai stepped forward. With each step, it grew larger. By the time it fully revealed itself before Gu Feng, it stood 100,000 meters tall. The Mythic Titan possessed a skill called Titan Body. The bigger it grew, the stronger it became, and 100,000 meters was Ah Tai’s current limit. A titan of that size radiated overwhelming pressure just by standing still.

Jing Jing had already quietly expanded the skeleton sea outward to clear enough space for a battlefield. Even so, as Ah Tai stomped toward Gu Feng and the Calamity Crossbird, she realized that she hadn’t cleared nearly enough.

That single stomp triggered what felt like a megathrust earthquake across Wildlion City, causing it to collapse. The aftershock spread outward and split the earth into countless fissures that swallowed lives without mercy.

One stomp was all it took for the Mythic Titan to level an entire city. If it ran around the Beast Tamer Civilization, the entire civilization would fall.

Han Wu stared at the aftermath, stunned by the sheer scale of destruction.

One stomp had caused massive devastation, but Gu Feng easily evaded it on his Calamity Crossbird. He looked down at the endless fissures below, and his expression grew heavy. Wildlion City was gone. The clan members he had hidden inside the city had been swallowed by the cracks.

At that moment, he realized that he was outclassed. If this continued, he’d die here too. Gu Feng abandoned all pretense and fled on the Calamity Crossbird. In terms of raw power, his unit couldn’t match Ah Tai, but when it came to speed, even ten Mythic Titans couldn’t catch a single Calamity Crossbird.

“Han Wu, I swear I’ll make you pay for this genocide. I’ll torture every last one of your friends and family to death!”

Gu Feng was already planning his next move. The Destruction Clan’s annihilation pained him, but he was still alive. With his constitution, rebuilding the Destruction Clan wouldn’t be impossible if he found a safe place to settle. As long as he lived, there was hope for its revival. He told himself he absolutely couldn’t die.

Han Wu watched Gu Feng flee into the distance. He wanted to give chase, but none of his five Subcosm fighters specialized in speed. They couldn’t catch up.

Just as Han Wu thought there was nothing he could do, Ah Tai did something astonishing. It swung its arms, and a bolt of golden lightning crashed down onto its body. Diamond feathers sprouted across its frame, and it shifted into a birdlike form. In the next instant, it kicked off the ground hard and took flight. Despite its enormous size, even a simple flapping motion propelled it forward at incredible speed.

Han Wu was flabbergasted. “What’s happening? Ah Tai had a hidden ability? Did it mutate?”

While Han Wu was trying to make sense of it, Kokkai Hanwu, who had also been summoned, stepped forward. “Master, I’ve taught Ah Tai the Beast Giant Transformation. Ah Tai’s form is the bird variant, which is why it can fly.”

The mystery was solved, but Han Wu was still surprised. He knew Kokkai Hanwu possessed all nine types of giant power, yet Ah Tai had only demonstrated one so far. If it mastered all nine, what kind of monster would it become?

Han Wu had no intention of stopping at one Mythic Titan either. Once an entire Mythic Titan legion mastered all nine powers, the sight would be glorious beyond imagination.

He watched Ah Tai soar into the distance, excitement surging across his face. This was what it truly meant for the future to look bright!
